mannnn its an expensive lesson to learn. i feel your pain. just know there are a lot of us out there. sad to say. there are more horror stories just like mine and yours out there than actual success stories. and most people are to scared and too ashamed to speak out about it. cuz it is embarrassing as a business owner to invest in something that turns out to be a waste of money. nobody wants to share their failures.

So on point. When we go to these shows we are at a disadvantage if we don't know the right questions to ask. The sales guys aren't going to volunteer the downside of the technology. So doing your research is priceless advice.

thats right Chuck. the salesmen are there to make the sale haha. we as the consumers get blinded by the sales pitch most of the time. its tough because most of us consumers are start ups or small shops and we dont have the big budgets to drop on a failed system. but the salesmen prey on people like us haha. sad to say.

Afterwards, they're ghost. I applaud you on NOT TRYING to put a Co. On blast, but thisis what WE need to know as well. If they're trash, lets speak on it so the next guy won't be their next victim! I got seduced by the great marketing and bought a DTG printer. The companies are not completely truthful in their marketing. Yes you can pre-treat with a Wagner power sprayer, but you will not have any consistency. I ended up purchasing a used pre-treat machine which greatly improved my results. They also leave out the huge amount of maintenance and consumables along with the temperature and humidity requirements. The print head will clog on the regular and tech support always tells me I need to flush and cap the machine off for 7 days. The only people making money in DTG are the companies selling the machines. Its cheaper to leave my machine capped off than try to run it.

nothing but facts here. people losing money the same way to dtf because of those same promises. and buying $5000 - $8000 dtf printers which in reality are $300 epson printer models very cheap and being converted and white labeled and marked up extremely. Just for the issue of inks clogging and they go to clean the print heads and printer ends up fried and bye bye $5,000. I converted my own epson printer when getting into this space, and was best thing i ever did. instead of wasting $5k on a cheap epson.

I'd love to own a DTF to print in-house on demand. I live in a small area in midwest and don't have the option for picking orders from from a transfer company so it makes my TAT a good bit longer waiting on orders, especially if it's a one-off custom for someone which usually ends up being HTV then, but ability to print a DTF for the job would be really nice.
However, I had a high-end photo printer for about 8 years and it's similar. You can't let them inks sit without being used pretty much daily along with spend as much time doing maintance as you do actually printing products to fulfil orders.
But I also know with DTF, I probably wouldn't be happy trying to work with a entry level setup so there's a huge investment unless I would start printing DTF for others on top of my own jobs, which seems like a good amount of people end up doing.

try the Epson SureColor F2100, does DTG and DTF, price went down special to 10,995 it was last year 15,999...retail, $18,995. The machine does the maintenance itself. You just need to clean every 2- 3 weeks the heads (easy).

Man I gotta say you hit the nail on the head on this one ....can I add fake software being sold from non trusted reseller ...so yes thought it would be a snap but same issues just starting DTF humidity temp acrorip it starts to add up ,oven which I haven't purchased yet cause I'm starting to see your point and have someone else with set up make my ready to press dtf's quick ? I'm sure lots of others would like to know is cost , what's reasonable price for a full color DTF if I out sourced that part ? I also realized why some designs are simple with hardly any artwork , cost $$$ and trial plus errors ... well got more stuff dealing with like who to purchase if you go with temu you can find some good quality but if you want a large you'll have to go up a size XL think they measured people outside of the states 😅 thanks 👍 for video

That’s unfortunate have you considered trying again but with print on demand services?

i would never do print on demand. i fulfill all of my own orders. quality control is big for me. with POD you never see what the customer receives. ive seen so many bad prints, crooked designs, stained shirts, misplaced prints and wrong sizes from POD company's. and they take a big chunk of your profit. take a look around my channel, you'll see how i run my brands and businesses

Man I worked a print company where the printer was $120k and that thing broke down on a daily basis. And they needed to have a guy come in and fix it too, not cheap. It wasn't worth it in the end. But if you got someone to work it and fix it then that's the way to do it.

Hi, what would you recommend for printing on demand in a small country store that works on dark tshirts?

I started watching your channel after seeing you on heatpress Nation podcast and and so glad I did. Couple of questions:
    1. I have a dtf and still can't find a way to make the image feel softer when it is one solid image. Any suggestions? BTW my dtf is very high maintenance! I have a dehumidifier and all the extras. It's still daily maintenance!!
    2. Is it worth learning screen printing and all the equipment needed?
    3. I love the hotronix 360 cap press, my wallet doesn't. Which one do you suggest that is a small step down from that one?
Thank for all you share. I have learned so much!

I get where you are coming from. As a newbie, you don't know what to ask. And it's not what the salesman says, but what he doesn't say that really counts. I've had these types of issues in a lot of different products over the years. If I can't get a at least a full, one-year warranty, and a local, authorized repair company, FORGET IT!

DTG-C has given a lot of training on the printer I bought from them, but DTG is expensive for sure.
