Nice one, it takes me back to the late 70's when I collected a new RS2000 in signal red from Quicks in Manchester and got it back home with only 42 miles on the clock so what did I do that day ** yes I removed the diff / the gearbox and the engine whilst they were still warm to replace them with a new LSD and a Rocket box and a new engine I had built running on 48DCOSP carbs with all the correct bits on it for the day , it made 142 bhp at the wheels on the rolling road I always went to in Littleborough called GRV to see my old friend Harry Radcliffe who has since passed away. Since then I have owned 7 of the RS2000 models and sold them on **** but recently I have managed to track my original one down and it has just been restored by a specialist in Leigh who only works on classic cars so it looks fantastic, I have also built an engine similar spec to yours, I think it was listening to your car on TH-cam that finally got be to do it again as we just need that noise in our lives.I am not to far from you so maybe catch up one day as I have lots of tales to tell about the old cars and all the Pinto and Crossflow engines I have built over the years. Keep up the good work on your videos. Regards Dave.
Beautiful car , sounds great ! Me and my brother bought a Burt out twin cam escort ( lotus) I think it was a 68 or 69) and we just sold the engine as the twin 40s were melted and dripping down the engine . We transferred all the parts into a 1300GT with a new stage three Mexico engine in , great fun , you can’t beat early fords for fun driving , the price we paid for the twin cam was £50!!! The shell was rotten but the wheels prop 2000E box the bucket seats steering wheel , everything apart from the engine was usable and got put onto the 1300GT 😎
Feck you make my day with that lovely wee scort, I owned TLT 45M in the early 80's and a couple a mk2, NIA 8001, what I'd give to ho back there, keep er lit Mac ;)
I love the sound of 45 side draughts on a pinto, there's nothing like it. 25 years ago, I'd regularly tune and balance my webbers much to the dismay of a neighbour who threatened to "fire the bastard". Sadly, tuning carbs means changing jets, emulsion tubes and intake lengths each time you make a mod. It's expensive on the dyno and time consuming. Mapped fuelling on throttle bodies is like carbs with the sound (webber alpha) but the fuelling is simply down to injector duration. I've seen carbs converted to throttle bodies for that retro look and sound with laptop mapping. Either way, that sound is exquisite.
I used to walk to school past and olive green RS 2000 just like yours but olive green my first car was a mark2 escort 1.6 L in beige I bought a sport steering wheel and RS gearstick knob and some GXL wheels were added and I used to wheel spin it everywhere wrote it off in the end but this does bring back some memories for me beautiful car mate be lucky 😟🤚
Alright lad soz thought I subbed a while back just after Adam filmed the rs.Don’t know your back story but u one lucky man.The old escorts I grew up around n love an Rs n there’s u got two of the best.Love seeing your car’s and that story of the mk1 back in the day that’s my dream car mk1 in blue👍🏼
Hi mate don’t have a back story just work really hard and never go on holiday so can afford these cars had the mk2 9 years now and cosworth about 4/5 years. Glad a bought when I did because prices aren’t mad now. Thanks for subbing
@@oldskoolmotors2802 yeh prices are crazy but the enjoyment you must get driving them I had 2 mk2 ghia’s when I was sixteen/seventeen but was to young to drive on the roads.A friend had a few one was rally prepared that we put a pinto engine in out of a Capri the sump needed changing if I recall and he could drive it like u do the RS but I’ve never had a rear wheel drive car since.
Sorry yoy're not mature ! Someone should take this nice car out of your dangerous hands before you damage it or kill an inocent bystader. Nothing to be greatfull for !!
"Factory standard" is always best with these cars. So what it has 212BHP over the factory original of around 110 BHP. You have spent money on modifying this car and therefore making it worth LESS money when you come to sell it and a factory standard BMW M4 will still make it look like a sit-on lawnmower 🤣🤣😆
I loved watching these rallying back in the day...
Great car keep up the drifting 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🗝️
