Yeah, put himself all in, in regards to his work ethic, and going from greenhorn, deck hand, deck boss, and very likely to eventually become Cap’n Nick. yeah man he was an awesome deck boss, there's a lot to learn from a man with a work ethic like that. pretty sure he got fired beforehand though. He had an addiction to painkillers, I remember in the episode it seemed like his work ethic just wasn't there, he led Bill to think it was cancer, but he was cleared of that, later in the same episode Bill found his stash, Nick was pretty messed up too.

He didn’t even attempt it till he was in his 30’s. And he still was hard on Zack the entire time. It’s the father’s job to both support, toughen, and make sure their son is ready for the world. Not abandon him, tough love him without any love to back it up. Bill only started doing that to leave a legacy behind when he started getting up in age.

Apparently when they did the behind the scenes on Wild Bill, his ex-wife, Zach's mom said he was abusive physical, and mentally to them growing up. Something Wild Bill has never really admitted to being at fault for. All he knows is how to be a captain of a fishing boat. Zach is actually a trained EMT so he can go into doing something else. I like Wild Bill as a captain, but from the look of things outside of that he doesn't know how to be good at much else.
He was trying to teach his brat of a child Zak how to move up but no Zak just wants it handed to him on a silver platter and he in no way has the drive to be a captain and never will. By the way we all have made mistakes in the past at least Bill is there for his son now. Better late than never.
This isn't true. The reason they divorced is because Bill was away fishing all the time. Zach grew up in a nice house, with a cleaning lady, a nanny, and went to an expensive private school. Bill bent over backwards to provide his family with everything, and how was he repaid? His wife divorced him and took everything, and his son grew up into this lazy, entitled brat who holds a grudge against his father because he couldn't be around more. Despite all that, Bill is STILL trying to do right by his son.

He knows this is a hard life and probably doesn't want this life style, but doesn't know what he wants or how to tell his dad without disappointing him. Bill is not accepting what Zach is telling him. Zach doesn't always need a captain, sometimes he needs a dad.
I can imagine how Zach feels. I have always rebelled against my father because I was always a Mama's boy, but when I became a father I realized that I was exactly like him...to a certain extent. "I really want zack in the wheelhouse" lol, that'll never happen.. Guys like wild bill the hillstrands or the norweigians, they'll die in that wheelhouse before they give up the seat..
I have watched every episode and based the following opinion on my observations. regarding crew safety: can't you install taller rails higher around the boat except for certain spots like where the launch is, . Like some type of foldable rails to protect the crew from possibly getting thrown over? just a thought. Captain, you may not have been around much when your son was little, and that can cause issues later on like it is now, but you are the type of father who's a "provider", an "earner" You did what was needed to be done to house and feed your family and Zach will understand that as he matures more. But you did a great job providing for him and he'll appreciate that one day, so don't get down on yourself, you did great. As far as Zach is concerned, I think Zach is totally capable of running his own boat., he's a great fisherman because of what he is learning from you. So he doesn't like getting wet and pummeled with 30-foot waves of ice-cold seawater, bfd, he'd rather be running the show than being down where he can get tossed over. that's an acquired taste, not everyone is made the same, but there's nothing wrong with telling your son or the other crew members "Great job guys" One last opinion, seems to me you need to stop hiring all these girly boys and hire "men" that have more meat on their bones. these slender little boys are frail and get injured easily and all the crying and complaining from them fks up your program. the crew needs more phrases from their captain. That's all that's needed to keep spirits up. Zach, you got this, You are a fine man, stop being such a little d*ckhead to your dad and show some love and gratitude. He is not going to always be around and now is the time to appreciate that he is still there. Zach and nick and the darker guy are a great team.
Look at it how you want but Zac got more/better experience running gear at night. Just like its easier running it calm eater its easier during the day when you can actually see them
Wild Bill isn't my Dad but I have a lot of respect for him. I hope his Son realized how deeply he hurt his Dad's feelings . Wild Bill wants the best for his Son ...
I can tell by the heart to heart bill and zack had that they barely had a relationship and bill was probably a dick of a father. I kinda feel for zack, I don’t get how bills surprised by his feelings, probably the only one surprised
Bill physically abused Zack growing up. He mentally and emotionally abused him too. To have them even on the same boat is a huge step. Bill almost hit him on camera once. I think Zack just wanted his dad to be proud of him for once.
Bill always found a way to fault his son at everything while refusing to acknowledge his own mistakes. It's pretty sad to see howblittle bill is aware of his effect on his kids
Another entitled person no first off Zack says he wants to be a crab captain several times he says it and then he says I never wanted to be a crab captain I never wanted to follow you no it's Zack zack's got the big ego problems He's being disrespectful to a captain offering him a seat.. Father or not,
Dang, Bill is a doo doo dad, exactly why I chose to wrench on trucks instead of drive because my boys were littte and they needed there, I drive now but still not over the road.
That's the whole probleml.. your son think he's better than you, like most kids .. yes kids, very childis, let him go, it's all you can do, your son was spoiled, his ego believes he's better than most people, especially you, Zac, needs to walk, don't give into the son's, he doesn't appreciate it at all..
I feel bad for wild bill cuz he wants his son to be more aggressive and more like him but Zach is too sweet and not tough enough to become a great captain!
The only thing my dad had to pass down was a crack pipe and a bill to bury him so when I see kids like this makes me sick I use to pray to God for a dad who cared
Zach wants to do what he wants to do why should he follow in his dad's footsteps if he don't want the responsibility it's like they say don't own them shop work for the guy who owns the shop you'll make more money
The way Bill projects his insecurities onto Zach bothers me so much. Everything is: I would be helpful, but or I would be more supportive, but. He thinks everything is up to Zach because he’s decided he doesn’t want to take accountability for mistakes. Now he can hold Zach accountable instead. Dude is a textbook manipulator.
zac see's bill more as a threat then a help ( DAD ) not his boss Zac got the I know everything attitude he has a moop on his face when you look at him yet in his mind he saying ( Pfffft why should I do anything this be all mmine int he end anyways ) Time to wake up Zac my son thought the same with my drywall company I gave the company to my daugther now my son works for her Great joib BIll

Just from watching these clips, seems like working along side bill is like having teeth pulled. I know its editing, but every other word out of his mouth is how zacs not doing this, nick is better here, he doesn't want it, he won't ask, just freaking insufferable. Does a great job on his string, instead of saying that, its you should be doing 1, 2, 3. Bill wants his son to come say, dad, here I am, make me you, all while ignoring years of crap. Pathetic.

My sons acting the same way right now, it's frustrating. He's 12
Communication is tough with the more sensitive type. They have strength in a way that is different from us.
@@MotherAlgorithmwell said they are not necessarily "weak" or "less than"? They are however different, a good leader knows how to motivate ALL his people not just the ones he likes or that are easy to manage.
"I really want zack in the wheelhouse"
lol, that'll never happen.. Guys like wild bill the hillstrands or the norweigians, they'll die in that wheelhouse before they give up the seat..
For me the most memorable Wild Bill moment was when he shook that guy awake, in his bunk, after going out drinking in town.
Damn Wild Bill is one HOTTT Man😍😍😍😍😍
And you're one HOTTT Woman 😍😍😍😍
No no no no sir best captain I'd ever seen id. Never let my son judge me
Aku dari indonesia🇮🇩nyasar kesini krena cinta2ku dari dulu ingin jadi pelaut
Look at it how you want but Zac got more/better experience running gear at night. Just like its easier running it calm eater its easier during the day when you can actually see them
Bro...Sometimes kids don't need a captain they need a DAD !!!....Your dreams AREN'T always their dreams !
Things always seem to go wrong on Wild Bill's boat and it's always anyone's fault but his.
I don’t think Zack has the temperament to be the boss. He would be great on a forklift at Home Depot. Nothing wrong with that.
That had to crush Bill on the inside.
The softland is not for everyone
man... I could only wish to have hair like that when I'm that age
Bill strikes me as a fool. I don't know if it's just drama for the show or if that''s how he actually is, but it's jarring to say the least.
Wanna advance your family, but don't want to see them better than you. Yup sounds about right.
The only thing my dad had to pass down was a crack pipe and a bill to bury him so when I see kids like this makes me sick I use to pray to God for a dad who cared
"Wanna be captains son"........cant he just be your son.....and then be his own captain
We are supposed to teach them
ZACK DAD IS ONLY ONE. ZACK WILD BILL IS YOUR DAD DUDE, LOOK THINK ABOUT.
You should be a preacher sir
Plug seems pretty tight that's what she said🤣🤣🤣
I always thought kinda funny how guy works in some the coldest shittest weather possible then find out he been living in Mexico for 20 plus years lol
I'd had military back round you should get military Soldiers
Zach wants to do what he wants to do why should he follow in his dad's footsteps if he don't want the responsibility it's like they say don't own them shop work for the guy who owns the shop you'll make more money
Ballicks
The way Bill projects his insecurities onto Zach bothers me so much. Everything is: I would be helpful, but or I would be more supportive, but.
He thinks everything is up to Zach because he’s decided he doesn’t want to take accountability for mistakes. Now he can hold Zach accountable instead.
Dude is a textbook manipulator.
Fade🎉
Memorable??? Yeah But i dont remember if part of the same segment is shown 3 or 4 times😆But now Im sure that i dont have alzheimers🤘🏻THX!!!
zac see's bill more as a threat then a help ( DAD ) not his boss Zac got the I know everything attitude he has a moop on his face when you look at him yet in his mind he saying ( Pfffft why should I do anything this be all mmine int he end anyways ) Time to wake up Zac my son thought the same with my drywall company I gave the company to my daugther now my son works for her Great joib BIll
No that Man is still a lil boy and he needed to step up then and there clear as day
Can someone answer for me as to why these guys on deck can,t wear a safety line to keep from being washed off deck. Im unaware of this profession and have many questions no matter how stupid they sound.
Too dangerous for getting snagged and pulled.
I don't know if I hate this guy or keith moore
Ulises not happy...
Papá jia
Just from watching these clips, seems like working along side bill is like having teeth pulled. I know its editing, but every other word out of his mouth is how zacs not doing this, nick is better here, he doesn't want it, he won't ask, just freaking insufferable. Does a great job on his string, instead of saying that, its you should be doing 1, 2, 3. Bill wants his son to come say, dad, here I am, make me you, all while ignoring years of crap. Pathetic.
Man Nick was always the better seaman. Too bad Zack is ungrateful as hell, but maybe there's stuff we don't know
Jack klk juegos 🎉❤
Jack klk juegos 🎉❤😅
This video should be renamed the whiny Zach video. Grow up dude.
This is repetitive!😢
His son is too soft
wow wouldnt want to be married to him
He's a leader. You're obviously not. Problem identified and solved.
The. Devil.
Wiid Bill is a great fisherman but a crappy father! I can't stand watching him!!
Most memorable set-up, scripted, fake moments, lol.

Ari

This is a repeat.
Duh read the caption of the video bill hasn’t run the cape caution in atleast 4 or 5 seasons
LOL, POOR ZACKS HAD SUCH A TOUGH LIFE 🤣 TRY FOSTER HOMES, NO MOTHER OR FATHER WHEN YA HOME FROM SCHOOL. SEEMS LIKE ZACKS HAD ALOT GIVEN TO HIM, COMES OFF LIKE A VICTIM TOO. I SUBSCRIBE TO PRINCIPALS BEFORE PERSONALITIES, IF I CA GET AHEAD BY SUCKIN IT UP A LITTLE THEN THATS WHAT ID DO. BILL ISNT ASKIN ZACK TO BECOME HIM "JUST DO A LITTLE WORK ZACK INSTEAD UH WAITIN FOR THE OLD MAN TO HAND IT TO YA"
Reminds me of bill Clinton what you got them doing under the desk
Bill talkin like he knows a lake lol
No Nick was not a good deck boss he was high on opiates most of the time at sea putting all other crew members at risk it was reall obvious in a few episodes. Dont do drugs at sea thats instant dismissal.
@seanomac4402 be real. Business is Business. Addiction or not, there's a goal that the team is working towards. If you're an addict, you're also a liability to the rest of the team.
EDIT: Assuming that you even have a good job as an addict. 😂😂😂
