Sig Hansen has had a lot of standout moments in Deadliest Catch history, from coming up with a clever plan to retrieve his anchor from the bottom of the sea to putting out fires aboard the Northwestern.
#rushnz #deadliestcatch
Sig is a great leader. Dude is teaching Mandy and, while at the same time, teaching Jake how to be a captain as well. On top of all that, his brother is going through physical issues by way of the job.
Oo😊

Nothing beats a captain who errs on the side of caution.
You know it's a long hour job, when Cap says, "It's gonna be a long night" in broad daylight.
Sun doesn’t go down in Alaska 😮
@@YooAdrriiaannFor several months anyway. Then it doesn't come up for near as long.
@@YooAdrriiaann it most definitely does. There are some FAR northern places where it doesn’t go down for a month (in the summer….not during crab season) but in the winter it then goes down and doesn’t come up for over a month.
I admire you guys to no end. I do remember “Sammy” took the biggest bite of the celebrition start of the season. Sammy dug right in while all the guys were eewww
God Bless him❤
Video should be named "Edgar's greatest moments". Dude singlehandedly keeping that ship afloat.
Yes hell of a fisherman. But Edgars legal problems got him removed from the boat.
@@ghost4-6 what legal issues happened to him?
@@markosborne2663dude be a chomo
Edgar is a very valuable man to have onboard. Well done again Edgar!!
Touchie touchie youngie youngie...
@shanewoods1980 Because Sig never did it, that's why. The delusional accusations of an embittered, mentally deficient, and jealous step-daughter (not daughter) mean nothing. As the lack of arrest, trial or conviction has proven. As has his continued marriage to the mother of said woman, and the relationship he has with her sister, Mandy. Educate yourself.
@@christophercarson6634 but the fact that mentally unstable, “embittered” “delusional” “step daughter” “not daughter” had you in a hissy fit is quite amusing! 🤣
@@christophercarson6634 funny how things get “omitted” depending on who is telling the story isn’t it
@shanewoods1980 Perhaps you can inform me as to what, exactly, Sig, his wife, Mandy, the police, the courts etc 'omitted'?
Sig: *Walks up to mandy's bunk and lifts her hat* "You out?!"
Mandy: *stares at him sleepily like he's insane* "Yeah...?"
Sig: *Loudly* "LET'S GO FISHING!"
Yea we watched it 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😴😴😴😴
Edgar is a stellar mechanic
The Way Sig jumps out of his chair🤣
- and sleep - Hilarious !
Edgar the MAN!! If he cant fix it?
- no one Can💯Love his skills!!!
Be careful for what/who you applaud. Isn't Edgar doing hard time (16 years) for something? Maybe I'm mistaken?
Sig is one tough customer.......You da man Sig!!
THAT’s THE BOAT IN CARS 2!!! 😭😂
Never watched the show but sig is a great captain. Every operation like this needs a capable leader
Enjoying these videos like crazy. Dogs daughter is new to me. I’ve been following before when Jake was a Greenhorn. I’ve got a lot of respect because he stayed with it. Wasn’t Jake the one who “ thought”he was feeding the crab and pitched a fish in the tank whole??
So many great memories!!!
God Bless❤
1:08:27 - "Allow me to translate.." - I'm glad the narrator understands Sig!
No Fear Edgar is here , I think Sig needs to say it , thank you Edgar
Best boat ever best crew ever continued success all the way from PA we love you big time and we appreciate everything you do just to make a living stay safe please.
Did anyone else watch Norman H, chew away at that herring when the rest of the crew were gagging and spitting the heads out…… Real beast on the NW.
Edgar saved the day again , thank you Edgar
Any man that will pull pots, bait, run the crane, stack bait pales, be the mechanic on deck and says his back hurts while sitting at the most comfortable spot on the boat, tells me he is a worker and would go an extra mile even when he’s hurt/injured/ in pain. I’d take Edgar over sig any day of the week
You may wanna type in edgers name to google and reevaluate that opinion
@@seamusgilbert2080naw, no need to “google” or “reevaluate” anything but I appreciate you chiming in tho!! I assume you think sig is a savior or something right?
@@shanewoods1980easy there bud, its a scripted tv show.. not a world war 2 documentary... people are allowed to have differing opinions
I love captain sig Hansen he's my absolute favorite he don't take crap from anyone
Wouldn't want to loose steering trying to make it into the harbor. Great mechanic and electrical work Edgar. Well done Brother.
You know how old this first part of the video is when you see captain Jake on deck
He looks doped up
Keep these up. About to purchase the last few seasons because I started watching again on this channel
Captain Sig always looking to find the balance between Caring and Business.
I should have known when there was an ad in the first 3 minutes that this video was gonna be chock full of them
Can’t imagine the depth of sleep you immediately fall into being awake for 48 hours straight
Sig and Edgar r great leaders.
Crab fishing intervention
LOL
LOTS OF LOVE AND BLESSINGS From Amsterdam and likes . Goodluck allthe time . GREETINGS Anil
Hello Amsterdam, the greatest coffee's and pickled herring
Ship engineers have to be some of the smartest people on earth! Able to act quickly and smart of course, literally saving lives, and hundreds of thousands in gear!
No were not it’s just we’ve done it all a hundred times
Many blessings upon your family as well ❤❤❤
Sig went BIG!
Amazing show
I miss Edgar the most he is brilliant. He is not perfect and I am not perfect. With respect Sig needs him
Having a ship wheel is a great failsafe for those exact moments. As long as you got someone with you you can still get through.
Edgars brain always made up for his back, and the respect the other deckhands had for Edgar’s wit and grit, allowed someone who otherwise wouldn’t ever last a week on a fishing boat being unable to physically move much, but that man was def worth his salt on that sea
A broken body takes NO commands
Sig is an ole battle axe!
Edgar abilities are invaluable. Sig doesnt have a deck hand that can handle those sort of technical repairs.
Exactly and he should remember that when Edgar’s back is hurting
How do you know what the other deckhands can do?
@@timothykappel198 none of em are Edgar is why I think he’s saying it
20:24 Dud moved like a ninja
Urgent message to all crab boat captains!...get yourself an edgar.
I’m a big fan of deadliest catch. I love the show especially the competition aspect.
Sig give him a break bro , where is the Love , your brother has fixed more issues for you , give Edgar a break
It’s wild to picture this boat cruisin back into land with Sig, crew and 200,000 lb of crabs stuffed in the tank!
If you could see through 👀….
How they gonna attach the nylon line to the original anchor line ? Scuba dive?❤
Sig dove behind his chair in the wheel house but didn’t give the guys on deck a heads up on the huge wave
Great Broadcast
That bow buckle happened when the anger snapped is when they showed it after the anchor snapped it was all been up
Norman chewing on the head of the herring and no response is the best
Alaskan Sushi
So all your crab pots are connected to one line is that how they are pulled in line❤
Sig I'm sorry about what happened to Nick M. Your are still the best captain I'n my book.
28:39 28:26 sincere and truly wants to be here and experience it, you’re gonna see it.
Sounds like special operations .
Edgars back issues sounds a lot like my carpal tunnel pain issues. And i can say that just sitting in that captains chair would be one of the most painful things you can do.
Northwestern is my favorite boat
I Miss Edgar too do bad what happened to him its a shame
You know when someone as tough as Edgar is down then he really is down! I get totally what Sig says about EH not mentioning his bad back before leaving especially when he signs on as a1 good to go but if he physically cannot do it then he cannot do it.
That's the law of life...... experience comes with age, age comes with losing many abilities......like a V8 wake's up as a flat 4.
My dad was a sailor coast guard when I was young he would take me out on his boat 95ft pt boat he was the co later in Puerto Rico he was the co of a tender he took me out on that ship as well great memories watching old reel to reel movies on the flight deck rise and fall of the third richt being a sailor would have been choice I should have followed but divorce and moving inland changed my life I love watching anything about ships storms it amazes me sig and crew are first class sailor's love it
I love that northwest the boat is the best
Nice to see more Great destruction, keep up the good work, but where were the tree stumps?.
My favorite show and my favorite boat😊
a huge wave coming for you! Blessings OVERTAKEN YOU!!!
Longer anchor chain required?
Sig has changed alot since the beginning would lo e to work him
You know a volcano under seas could cause a tidal wave and flip your boat over❤ 1:15:28
Did sig pass away,? Haven't been able to watch for a while
No. He’s like 57. Had a couple heart attacks and was diagnosed with cancer, but no reports of him dying.
Alright, watching them throw the switch twice in 1 video, I'm out.
My friend and I I used to go out to the bodega jetty and throw a line nuts out you know the big flat things with no really capsulation and we bring a lot of rock crab
i noticed something..working vest is absent on the scene..with the unfavorable weather crew could be overboard anytime
How have they not put cameras on the pots to show the crabs crawling into them? That would be way cool to see. It would be dark at the bottom I guess but Im sure that could be overcome
The deep sea pressure could very well destroy them
i hate when people use idioms incorrectly, behind the 8-ball does not mean your running behind or progressing slowly, it means to be in an unfavorable position, a disadvantage
I had pain like edgar and found "heal n soothe". that saved my life and the pain was gone in 3 days. plus its all natural. i advise you or anyone try that stuff
I loved this series. Used to watch it on Discovery Tv. Never missed an episode. Now I find it nowhere. Just caught this episode as a fluke.
man 2 days stright be hell
*SIG " PHIL USE TO LIKE FISHING UP AROUND HERE!"", ME IN MY LIVING ROOM!!!"" TAKE A WIFF! FOLLOW THE FART BUBBLES SIG, FOLLOW THE FART BUBBLES!!" LOL GBYAA!!!!!!!!*
The bearing sea tells tales of edgar !!
27:24 I concurr
I like your collaboration.. I'll sub
That's why crabs cost a lot these guys bust their butt to get it
And Crab's Are DELICIOUS. Try fresh Crab Diablo someday.
Sig Hansen will be talked about for years to come as one of the greatest captains ever. I think that John Hillstrand is one of the best captains that will be talked about years to come but I really think that Andy Hillstrand is always complaining about the past he doesn't know how to let go of the past and I think that hurts the mural of the boat.
In almost 2 hours Sig smoked 500 cigarettes
🚬😮👍
This job would definitely make me a tweek tweek.
You know those camera men have lights on their cameras, come on and help them out.
72 hours awake in the wheeelhouse last trip 🌮🐭
That breakdown 😂 wow. I'm an industrial electrician and work with solenoid valves and......well.....😂😂 I don't know what they did besides fake a breakdown. That fire might have been karma. 😂😂
Guy legit has crabbin fever.

Have watched Deadliest catch from the inception. These guys have it or they don't. I don't compare with my earlier work. Though ya could do it ... or not. I compare the limitations of a person. I was a Butcher. 18hrs on ya feet go go go. Saw a lot of crap these guys may even cringe at. There comradery keeps them goin. Edgar was my fav for such. Sad he left the show....
About 35 years ago, an all nighter was np problem but now, that is one to many Tequila's later and a few to many years now.
Yall have to realize that not sleeping is a part of the fishing industry. Ive been on enough crab boats and fishing boats to say that Sig is right. When ur focused you could stay awake.
Enjoy
How the hell do you have 2 fires???? Must have amperage issues, you need to check every system maybe install surge protector???? This makes no sense
Segment Bob FD up… Same segment twice 🫣
It's time to do a MAJOR OVERHAUL of "everything"...or go buy a brand New Boat.
I wonder if Sean is 23 years old
Sig needs to change those flowery curtains like 30 years ago!
🤣🤣🤣‼️
Guess his mom made Them?
He is attatched to Them💯
Like fashion they Will become fancy again🤣
