We LOVE you all. Thanks so much for supporting the show. Leave a comment below on your thoughts and let me know what your favorite breakfast is.
The TJ Maxx comment was hilarious! LOL Thanks for the recipe and video, Joey!
That is Tim's favorite store. I can't find anything I like there but he can come out with a bag of stuff.
How about lining the muffin cups with rice paper? It might prevent it from sticking and you can eat the rice paper!
A win, win situation! 😊
Oh, I love that!
@@PlantBasedDads
I saw something similar on Broccoli Mum. She used rice paper for her eggless omelette so it would hold together.
I've already bought the beans (for the original recipe) and now I'm super excited to try these Eggless Cups, thanks!
I love the "just egg", but it does stick, this looks great with all the extra veggies, thanks so much
I absolutely agree. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the show.
👍🏼 Thanks for the recipes. I’m going try making these in my instant pot. I purchased the silicone molds for it and use them for pancake “cups” with a bit of chia jam in center.
I bought a silicone muffin tray from Amazon, it’s very flexible and bendy, my vegan muffin quiches pop straight out.
I think those ones with the feet are too inflexible and not the right ones. I should get new ones for sure
Yes I have a silicone muffin pan with smooth sides. Everything comes out perfectly.
INSTANT POT METHOD
Put 1 cup of water in the bottom of your Instant Pot followed by a trivet.
Spritz a 7-space silicone mold with water.
Divvy the egg mixture evenly into a 7-space silicone mold. Fill 3/4 full.
Cover the mold with the lid and place on the trivet in the Instant Pot.
Place the cover on the Instant Pot and select "Steam" and set to 8 Minutes.
NPR (natural pressure release) for 10 minutes and then quick release (QR) the rest.
Carefully remove the egg bites from the Instant Pot and let cool for a couple minutes. Invert the mold and serve immediately. These are truly light and fluffy.
I am going to try that! If it works then i will update the recipe on the blog to show those directions. Thanks.
I make these and I use a silicone muffin pan, but it has smooth sides rather than the zigzag textured ones. I find they pop out really well, and don't stick. :)
I think those cute silicone cups I used were just the wrong choice.
For oil free baking (and easier clean up), I really like using parchment cupcake/muffin liners. Thanks for sharing!
I have liners too. I should have used them
I agree the parchment paper liners vs just paper liners are key.
I use silicone muffin tins because there’s no clean up or waste.
@@monaleggett4412 I have silicone muffin pans. I just don't love them.
Great idea!
Would be good for Mothers Day brunch too!
Just Egg makes their own version of eggless bites that are really tasty, but yours look a lot healthier, and probably cheaper. I can't wait to try making them!
Yes, mine are oil free, which is a requirement for any of the McDougall programs.
New to your channel! you guys are just amazing!! what a great recipe (excuse my spelling mistakes, I am french-canadian and doing my best) I just love your work!! thankyou!!!
That's an awesome idea. Going to try this one. Thanks for the idea.
These look amazing! 👌🏽
Thanks so much 🙏🏼
One more thought on the sticking issue... aside from me using cooking spray, my muffin pans are non-stick. I don't see a company name embossed on the metal but the pans that I have are glossy. Wilson Cake pan company makes non-stick bakeware including muffin pans. Love your lessons!
The one I used is a really old pan from Calphalon, I probably need to get new pans.
I somehow missed your 'Just Egg Substitute' video, so I'm THRILLED to have caught this one! I've been looking for a savory grab & go breakfast recipe, and I can't wait to try this one. The chickpea flour egg cup recipes I've seen in the past just don't suit my taste (I can always taste the chickpea flour) so I have really high hopes for your recipe. I might experiment with adding some curry powder to some of the cups, because I just love that flavor. Cheers!
Curry powder would be fun. We like to top these with ketchup.
Great recipe! I'm always looking for high protein plant based meals. Maybe a little non-calorie cooking spray on the muffin containers could help. It always works when I bake muffins. Thank you! I also subscribed to your sister's channel as well.
Aww thanks so much.
I find if you leave things cool completely in silicone they usually come out, not sure if you did this or not, hope it helps 😊
Parchment paper cups would work good too for the no stick
I had no idea they made parchment paper in cups. I love that idea
Yes they have them in almost all grocery stores including Walmart ,love this recipe ,thanks
Something in the “Just Egg” nauseated me. I wonder if the copycat would do the same.
Need recipe for mung bean mix

ICT🎉
With silicon cups it has to be almost totally cool before removing
I think I jumped the gun on those for sure.
I tried your JustEgg copycat recipe in the skillet this morning. The flavor is great but the texture was just clumpy mush. Any tips for next time I try?
You want it to be somewhat liquidy. You may need to add more plant milk to it. Try it in a muffin pan like this. I personally think it works so much better in the pan baked than in the skillet.
That’s odd about the sticking. What was the longest time you waited to let them cool before attempting to take them out? I find with silicone you really have to wait a long time.
I don't think I waited long enough. I also think those cute cups were just the wrong silicone option.
I hate when people are so ignorant, BECAUSE THEY DON'T COME FROM TORTURE AND MURDER, I didn't stop eating animals because I didn't like the TASTE!
What could a person substitute for the spinach? I am allergic to spinach 😢
Anything green or leave it out. I just like having a green in there
@@PlantBasedDads Thanks, I might just leave it out. I haven’t found a good substitute for spinach. Most cooked greens have a different texture.
I saw a vegan chef making oil an free lasagna and he just put some sliced onion on the bottom of the pan to clock anything from sticking
That is a really good idea. I am going to try that.
Oh yeah! Is that Derek Sarno from Wicked Kitchen? The onions will only caramelise and add more flavour to the muffins.
Where do I find your Just Egg knockoff recipe you mentioned to make your eggless bites?
There is a link to it in the video description. I’ll try and post it in this comment when I get home from work today.
It is in the bottom part of this recipe page. www.plantbaseddads.net/post/fluffy-eggless-bites
Where did you get the mung beans? You might have said and I didn't catch it.
I found mine at a local Asian store (on the package 'mung' was spelled 'moong').
Or, he has a link in the video description above (just click on "show more")
I found them at Walmart in the international section
We got our at the local Indian grocery store.
@@adeleboulter9376 if you are here in Arizona , I just saw some at Fry’s! I had ordered mine from Amazon
I can't wait to try this in my Dash Egg Bites Maker. Thanks!!
