The weird ball joint in the fore arm is there to mimic Char’s unnatural arm movements from the anime
We've got 2 of the colors, now we just wait for them to multiply infinitely.
I wouldn't expect as many as you might think. The HGUC High Mobility Zakus they released in 2013 are still pretty fantastic kits, so I doubt they'd see a need to update them just yet. If anything, we might see a redo of Garma's Zaku, maybe even Dozle's Zaku or the Zaku I, which would be pretty great.
A new Zaku 2 kit is like when a new Starscream figure comes out.
The recolour just keep coming and they just keep coming and they just keep coming...
Man, I wish for a Zaku II FZ Revive.
Can we appreciate how timeless the Zaku II's design is? This thing was designed in the (late) 70's and it still looks fresh and beats a lot of modern MS designs.
I recently thought about that and yeah, even original Gundam looks somewhat goofy and antiquated, Zaku could have been designed now and it would fit right in
On the other hand I will forever be mad that Zaku II has shield on the right(firing) arm, it's so nonsensical, if it had been on the left it could actually provide protection while firing and not be useless, even Seed Zaku did this.

Finally got around to building this kit I absolutely agree about the segmented wrist (07:38), super glued the wrist in place on my kit.
Still think the Origin Zaku line is still the better Zaku.

For my luck I was able to purchase this guy today because my fav store was ironically selling it and to make it even more ironic it was the last one 👌🤣
But now I MUST GET an rx 78 or an rx 78 look alike cuz it won't blend well with a 00 or seed MS (much less a mazinger)
(If it wasn't Char's suit it would've been hg heavy arm lord astray or fumina)
I don't think I've ever had a Char's Zaku kit. I do like the more vibrant red this kit has over the pinker Origins version. Hmm...
Also, I came to find this video up right after seeing the HGCE Dagger-L on Bandai Hobby's Facebook page.

I think the new shield is from the Origins Zaku kits. That explains the notches in it for those bazooka clips.
This kit is 100% new, no parts are shared with the Origin version, so I'm curious as to why they included this gimmick

I compared the shield in hand with my kits, the Origin Zakus have a slightly thinner shield than the HGUC

Have my HGUC Char's Zaku-II Revive dual wielding the Zaku Machine Gun and Zaku Bazooka in a pose similar to Char's special musou from DWG.
Meanwhile I'm sitting here waiting for a grunt version of this kit for some reason.
The green version is confirmed already
Rough estimate is a Summer/Autumn release for the green one.
And me that waits for the J Ridden version

@@andreassetiawan7773 Been waiting for an Origin version of Shin Matsunaga's & Johnny's high mobility types as well. They already got the Orgin Black Tri-Star mold for a base.
@@cynicalmedic252 that would be nice as well, although my personal gripe that the origins zaku II head mold is quite small and 'off' looking from the front.
The revive is very proportionate and aesthetically pleasing albeit not as detailed
How about a lore video on what happened to Char's Zaku after Garma bought it?
But how bulky is it compared to the zaku III.
Bandai need made G40 Zaku.
While this is a very good version of the Zaku 2, I still think I like The Origin ones better. The colors and the detail on those kits are still the best IMO of any HG until you get to Real Grade.
We very much need a Zaku III Revive
For some reason the manual doesn't mention that if you happen to have a Zaku from Gundam the Origin that you can use the spare ammo clips on this kit as well.
I literally just built that one, and my god: it’s the exact same kit in a different color but comparing my noob building to this they might as well be different models.

so anyone here had their kit having the spiked shoulder pad being loose and easily falls off fresh out of the box? mine does that and I managed to quick remedy that by just applying masking tape on the ball joint.
I am really excited to see the rest of these Zaku kits that will inevitably be based on this one. They are working with a fantastic kit to begin with!
I tightened the wrist using pink post-its but now it's the shoulder swivel that pops off along with the fingers...
Fucking hate the fingers. Just hold the damn gun

A hollow bazooka scope? I'm glad I have some spare weapons (a bazooka as well) from The Origin. I'll use that.

I think those holes are for the bazooka ammos from HG Zaku Origin.
Definitely looks like the origin zaku II’s considering I have both the regular and char’s sitting next to me
This kit actually has a slightly thicker shield than the Origins version
@@miragebangbravern I think the only thing that affects its compatibility with HG Zaku Origin's bazooka ammos is the port holes. That's it. The shield thickness doesn't matter.
My arms keep falling off and wrists too. How do I fix this?
Try to put a little glue around the ball joint and pegs and let them dry. Then you reattach the arm and if it doesn't fit sand it down a little.

Eh, articulation aside I consider the Origin Zaku to be the superior kit.
The red it uses looks better, it comes with more accessories(depending on which one you get), and it even has hard points on it's backpack, something this one lacks.
So not only can it store it's bazooka better but it also has more customization ability as a result.
So yeah, this is nice... but I'm gonna stick with the Origin version.
you can use c5/c6 origin zakus accesories with this one

Huh I must've been playing GBO2 and watching Gundam the Origin for too long. I thought the Zaku II bazooka always had that ammo clip.

I really liked this model myself, but the absolutely gargantuan butt-plate on the machine gun, and trying to pose around it, really shines a spotlight on that weird and flimsy secondary ball joint in the arm.

I wonder what the real difference is between this kit and the Origin Red Comet Version Zaku II.
A LOT, the origin red comet ver is just a rerelease of the original origin kit which is very much styled to the 2000s orgin manga/ anime version with the panel line thighs and vulcans on the chest,, while this kit is 100% pure 1979 okawara goodness

You might not read this but the part of the waist armor behind the tube is not centered. That's what is causing the gap in the waist that you mention. Notice that the gap is only on the right side of the waist. The manual tells you to move one part to one side while assembling it, then to the other side, and finally to the center after bost sides of the chest are in place.
The kit looks great but my favorite hg zaku is the origin but I a sucker for the extra detail
The one thing I hate about this are the feet, they are an absolute pain to re-attach if they fall off.
I'm surprised at myself that although we are getting this amazing revive kit I'm still on the fence in-between this one and one of the Origin Char's Zaku to be my first ever Char's Zaku Kit.

The rotating joints right below the shoulder are really loose on mine to the point where posing is a challenge. I also agree that the wrist joints are a flawed design. Big shame because I was really hyped for this kit and it’s pretty cool otherwise. I have it in a good pose right now but I can’t see myself moving it any time soon. I’ll probably get the origins kit and see if that one is better.
Anyone got more luck in finding any hg Zaku f2000?

Too long, quickly forgotten. Makes me think someone has to pull off the infamous Zeta Zaku again if they got the green version of this mold (which is released days ago IIRC).

So this kit is s zaku 2 from gundam origins with some parts from the high mobility type i know because I own the two kits
While the weapon clip does not work on the revive Zaku II, it does fit on the Zaku II F2.
already had it, but was still waiting for your review of this kit..
The only downside i found was the feet. I just could not get a good pose with them

Zaku II: no longer a brick
I hate this kit honestly. It feels flimsy, weak and cheap.
For the same price as the origin kit, I would never buy this one again.
That’s funny, I have both the chars zaku ii and the standard zaku ii, and I never experienced any problems you mentioned, aside from the the wrist joint problems.
@@dovenbullet0147 The wrist joints are awful and the plastic just doesn't feel as good as the origins kit.
The wrist i agree with, the rest depends on how you handled the kit.
Mine is perfectly fine though, the wrist are an easy fix

Not really comparable because their articulation is similar minus the wrist articulation on the HGUC

the wrist balljoint tend to wore out fast, i recommend you guys to cement it thick enough before popping it in.
If they do a new Zaku III, will you keep the old one in the size comparison or swap it out?
My guess is they probs would keep it’s size or down scale it a little bit

As a new model kit builder that I am would you recommend the hg geara doga and Zulu?
They’re pretty cool grunt suits. Keep an eye out that there’s a couple variants like the blue geara doga or the guard type zulu
Hmmm probably not. If youre new, I cannot recommend enough the Entry Grade RX-78 or the HG Leo. Those 2 youre asking arent exactly the best nor the cheapest but if you really love the design then go right ahead, theyre still good just not that great (all things considered). In the HG line however, you cant go wrong with any of the Revives or the All Gundam Project kits (basically the new HGs of lead Gundams). The new HGUC Zaku (the one in this vid and the upcoming green one) are pretty good too especially for a beginner.
The Geara Doga probably doesn't have as great articulation as some of the newer HG kits, since most of the Char's Counterattack HG's only have a single joint in the elbows and etc.
This kit and the HGAC Leo are pretty great.
The Geara Zulu, especially Guards type has A LOT of stickers, and some of them are small and doesn't really stick.
Really recommend you get a white coloured marker for some of them, also for some of the non stickered details.
If you plan to get any of the zulu's I would recommend getting a white gundam marker for sticker touch ups and a couple black fine point markers for any kits you do. If you can pick up a cheapy hg kit and practice painting since with a little touch ups you can easily make older kits look good standing to next newer stuff

I never really liked the OG Zaku 2 design, wish they would remake the Zaku 2 F2, that kit had some stinker except for the design such as grey cables instead of green and Zaku gun with UGL.
