Thanks for posting this Rocco. I haven't seen the rest of your videos yet, but I will. Do you do entire trees? I am working with a museum to create scenes that are based upon 1:12 scale. Ultimately I need to make some trees that are as tall as 5 feet (60 ft in real world). I really like the technique.
So I know this video is from years ago, but I just came across it, it's amazing, I made a few trees the other night and they literally look like real wood trees. My only question is, whats the best way to do roots coming off the tree? Thats the only part I'm stuck on
people use thick string and paint it many coats ! good luck! I made a whole channel just for my dioramas also! th-cam.com/channels/wlyb5XgebfRI18Pdep-pOg.html
Awesome tutorial, definitely going to be putting this into practice. Can you explain what is the benefit of using mod podge with the black wash? I've noticed by using water with black paint for black wash I constantly have to paint it to get it just right. EDIT: I should've just kept watching instead of commenting during the video. LOL, you explained in the video. Thank you!
i just saw this comment! i was gonna reply then i read your edit, i appreciate the comment and i also have an entire video on backwashing if you're still interested
totally can, but those can be heavy ,dirty or even have bugs in them. ive learned the hard way! haha that's why this tutorial happened . but thanks for the feedback brother!
@@ROCCOTHEGREATJusy stating the obvious. I did pay attention to video in hopes of learning how to make a tree. Not bashing your work..its good actually.
@@warverine i'm just being cheeky! but you're right its more of a log but my aim with my videos is to get you started with the idea and then you use the techniques for whatever project you're doing, but i always take all the feedback into account and will try harder on the titles in future videos, thank you brother

ROCCOTHEGREAT Consider me subbed!
How do you crate the grass!
This is great bro. Thanks for this.
thanks for the feedback, i'm glad you like!
Do you think a card board cutter would work to cut foam? Since I always have trouble cutting it, also what blade would work best?
Yo - this was great thank you. Quick to the point, easy, awesome. Subbing
thank you , happy to hear that. and as for the feedback that's my aim on this channel! not so much fluff and lets get to building!
used to love the diorama vids =(
thank you!
Rocco are you Greek? so many lamb gyro references. haha
hot glue makes "seamless" near impossible... use white craft glue instead, unless your making a video and dont want the dry time👍 nice build👍
It doesn’t stick the foam together👍 try it before you comment👍.
@@TheGoat-mb9lf normal tacky glue and some weights works for me everytime, but the seems also add to the look so it all works in the end👍
Another cool #rocctorial Keep'em coming! 💥 #holymoley 💥 Is that #LONGLOCKSROCCO 💥 Whatever happened to the #toybookie? 💥 #makingyros 💥#keepitcheap
or you could just go outside and pick up some big sticks. Dont get me wrong I think its cool you like to create but nature does it best

warverine2013 A full tree wouldn’t fit in a photo so that’s why the entire tree isn’t being made
it's pronounced 'yee-row'
i'm from nuew yawrkk.
The gyro has a wide dispersion. It has several pronunciations. I have heard yeer-row. Guy- roo. And Jeer-yo. From the restaurants owners.
It's pronounced "Ear-ro."
fart
