I am always open to new approaches but I would have to say my Favorite Approach is to Identify my Overarching Goals and then allocating a specific amount of time to my goal. I may have to move things around as my life tend to be in a constant state of flux but when I am focused on a goal my objective is to put the time in where I can even if it's during less conventional hours when I can focus more deeply and zone in on the tasks at hand. (I am always learning new things about Time Management, Focus, Productivity, Discipline, Habit formation and the like. So as I learn new things, which I value I incorporate them and experiment to see if they will or won't work for me with my current undertakings.)
This was VERY HELPFUL. Not just for the planner, but hearing what people ACTUALLY do helps design journals! Thanks so much. You course is in my goal list for 4th Q. Hey Rachel, advice: Don’t get another ring light. I hate looking at tiny white circles in people’s eyes. I teach online and use a small LED panel in the same spot as a ring light would go. AGAIN, THANKS!
This was such a good way to understand your what, when, where and how to - use a planner to full advantage, and how best to use it. Loved the planner you used to demonstrate this. When I get my Focus planner i will come back and use your affil link. Thnks so much. Have no doubt this will help me to actually keep on track. cheers.
@@RachelHarrisonSund not exactly, I use note books. I have several and half the time I don't know which one has the plan I wrote. So I think this planner will improve things greatly. Cheers
I'm thinking I have to take more time to write out goals each week. I spend Sunday planning, but all you mentioned here would make me nuts. I had a planner similar to this, quarterly as well, and stopped using it after a couple of weeks. Thanks, though. I appreciate your video and this walk-through.
Writing out goals each week, or at least reviewing them, is great for keeping tasks focussed on what matters. I know it might seem like a lot, but the way I use the planner really only takes me about 15 minutes each week for the weekly preview, and the daily reviews only take a couple minutes. Do you have a favourite planner that you use?
Very interesting this KDP. Does anyone know: Can you put ads to your website in the back of your books without making amazon upset? Also, can you sell ads in your books? Are there any rules against creating coupon books?
Hi, enjoy the videos I have watched. I trying to see where these kinds of books are sold. In Amazon I searched your name and found only one book, a gratitude journal. A search for blank page books yields a list of brands selling books but I don’t see more than maybe one or two self publishing creators. Is this really a business that sells books or a business that tells people how to create them? If publishers have dozens of these books for sale, where are they? Thank you.
6x9 is the most popular book size based on my research but I think you should choose a size based on what makes the most sense for the customer. You can also look at other books in that Niche and see what size the most popular books are and use that as a guideline.
Adding a Bleed or not depends on the design in question. If your design is filled with images that would look best extending to the end of the page it makes more sense to add a bleed rather than having a white border around the pages. If your designs do not extend to the end of the page too often and are filled with lots of empty space a bleed is not required but you still have to follow the rules and make sure that important information is kept inside the safety margin.
Hi... I would like to watch your videos, but I am having great difficulty hearing the audio. It seems you have improved the quality of your audio recording over the years, but it is still extremely low volume. I have the volume at 100 but the air conditioner sort of drowns you. Don't get me wrong, I would love to follow along. And I am having the exact same problem, something I have been trying to correct, but the cheap microphones I buy (less than $100) still don't take out the extra echoes, pops and hissing on the pronunciation of words with 's' in it. That said, I think you are the best presenter for this kdp stuff and such. But I have to turn you up too high (and wake up the house) at night (when the air conditioner isn't on), and the daytime noise is winning against you when I have the volume all the way up, plus then the ads blare like crazy until I find the mute button on the remote or keyboard.
Hi Doug, I'll have to look into this; I don't seem to have a problem with the volume when I play my videos back here. Do you experience this with other TH-cam videos, or just mine? Also, thank you for the lovely compliment!
@@RachelHarrisonSund Yes, with some. Usually it is an audio recording issue, I have the same problem, I need a good microphone and a decent audio recording system.
@@RachelHarrisonSund Your audio is Perfect. I watch your videos on 3 of my Laptops 2 of my Phone's and sometimes on my TV or iPad your Audio is AWESOME! This person's system would seem to have an audio issue. (But transcripts and headphones 🎧 would help them out I'm sure! ) BTW I have your course my Nephew bought it for me for my birthday, you really clarified some things for me which were not clear before it. I plan to start putting what I've learned into motion in the coming months! I still have more videos to watch I must admit. I jumped around a bit!

Thanks for sharing. I'm a Planner Nerd. Can't function without one.
Me too, I LOVE a good planner!
Super insightful, loved this look inside the planner and how you use it. I'm a fan of breaking things up into quarters too!
Glad it was helpful! Do you use a planner? If so, which one?

So glad you found this helpful, Kathryn! And thanks for the lighting tip! Do you use a physical planner? If so, which one?
@@RachelHarrisonSund No. I use a digital planner I write on with my apple pencil and I also use Google calendar.

I know that the customer service are very friendly and you can ask them that.
This was very useful. Thank you.
Are you still using the FFP?

I thought this was a tutorial on making a full focus planner, but I now realize its an affiliate sales video.
