Brings back memories of my Huey Crew Chief days and that was 40 years ago. The lower you are the more it feels like your flying. Thanx for sharing sir.
Yea i was a 67y back in 83. Always loved going to the field at fort Irwin as the co pilots would fly passenger in hueys and let the crew chiefs fly front seat as kind of a thank you for keeping their aircraft up and running. We took care of our pilots and they took care of us. Ft Ord will always be my favorite station out of my army career.

Air Force helo pilots learn to fly a huey as their basic helo trainer. Army helo pilots dont anymore.

Man do I miss flying like that. I use to sit in my window when we would go fly that low. An old Blackhawk Crew Chief.
Many years ago, when I was a young Marine at New River Air Station, I was a Huey UH-1N crew chief. We used to call these trips "Tactical hops". Basically, low and fast down the streams and rivers in the surrounding area. The first time I did it, I was terrified. Afterwards, it was pure awesomeness.
Thank you for this video! I have over 5000 hours in a UH-60....but we didn't have this video tech back then to capture such awesome low level flight! I'm 60 years old and this video got my adrenaline pumping!
That brought back some nice memories. As a Navy guy, I was very fortunate to get to spend several weeks flying with the 160th. It was truly glorious flying fast and low, through canyons and hopping fences with doors off sitting on the chocks (my equipment ate up some space). :) Lots of respect for my pilots and crew - I never felt safer in an aircraft of any type.
Helicopters are by far the dopest form of transport. Hands Down. Nice flying, my dude!

Awesome man, I'm a little jealous. When I was 15 my father was in a 172 partnership, started taking lessons in it, then an a microburst or something along those lines flattened an entire row of hangers, everything was a complete loss, never started back up.

By far the most realistic footage of being in a cockpit. Please make more. Its a trip watching these. Thank you! My 3 year old daughter sits in my lap when we watch these. I would love if she pursued this. Im not the type to push her in any direction but she loves watching these. As long as she stays out of law enforcement like her dad is currently stuck in.

Load toad here, I loved working with the 855th AMXS (use to be 823d MXS) probably some of the best times i had were spent working in that squadron. Now i work on 22s which is cool but not as fun honestly. The Rescue community is probably the best community to be a part of and i would definitely work at one again.
Every time I see these vids it always makes my dream of flying helis farther along. Great job and I hope you had a good forth of July even in all this craziness.

Thanks for the interesting POV. Having the camera horizon stay level like an artificial horizon gauge gives a unique perspective, and really illustrates just how much roll you're putting in there. It would be cool to see some OSD data like a 3D G meter, it sure looks like you give it a good workout. Hmm, or is it the other way around. Love all your low level flying videos. Also showing take off and landings. If you get to the UK, I've got a nice landing field here if you want to drop in for a beer.

That's frustrating. Zero interference, mount it and forget it. Also can be a good debrief tool, especially when we link up audio.
This is the very video that makes me seriously consider trying to go for rotaries instead of fixed wings. Pure low level, non edited, superb sights.

I just learned more about how the hands and feet work in controlling the movement of a helicopter than i ever have before, by that above the head shot of you flying. Great angles, and great stuff.
I'm from New England, was trying to figure out that area from when I was flying. On the edge of my seat watching that video... looking for Bridges, Powerlines and Towers... great pedal control. Thanks for posting

It's called nap of the earth flying, children from the gunner's seat (the side) you'll see sky --- then ground, sky --- then ground. It's fun stuff. I only got to do it in a Huey though.
