1 thing i didn't know was the ek9s came with a full size front bar, I thought they all had the race spec front bar 👍 good video mate. The stitch welding is somthing im familiar with though as the stitch welds aren't continuous but rather longer than those on the normal ek chassis, ideally you'd need 2 empty bays side by side to measure the stitch lengths though
It’s race base and some of the other light weight models , seen it on a manual windows non air bag facelift ek9 so Yh it’s odd some do some don’t have that full front bar
Great video and exactly the information I always looked for However I managed to fit an ek9 rear seat in my ej9 without any major modifications I'm from Germany so not sure if that makes a difference on the car
@@huktuned i agree The video makes more sense with the UK spec in general If you want a full 100% replica the right hand drive is necessary Still thanks for this video as it helped me a lot with this I only faintly heard about and wasn't to sure if it was actually true Especially the seam welding part everyone talks about but never have I ever heard about the actual locations

@@toddscars cheers mate just tryna transfer all the nerd content from the old forums on TH-cam bit more accessible for people
Great video! Do you know if it is possible to mount the side crash reinforcement from a facelift ej9 on a prefacelift ej9 chassis?
@@Tic97xP no mounting holes unfortunately but can get aftermarket braces that run along lower floor bolting into the seat belt holes
@@huktuned thanks, as i understand this also adds stifness besides crash safety?
What are exterior parts can you fit from EK9 to EJ9?
@@Ghetto109 pretty much everything mate
Love you videos, could you do a review on where to buy the best fitting front bumpers and lips? Thank you
I’ve only used aftermarket rear lip once it was used and awful , but I am about to fit an aftermarket rear lip so maybe will cover fitment

I think ppl sometimes confuse the large seem sealer on ek9 for seem welds. But Yh need both bays side by side with seem sealer off to confirm

Does aftermarket for ek4 ek9 parts would they fit a ej9 in theory?
depends really. what you looking at ?
@@huktuned to improve performance but also to have the looks?
but mostly to upgrade for better performance cus most oem aftermarket parts say for ek i kinda wonder if they work for ej9 hatch.
is there any diffrences between race base shells and normal k9 shells or just interior ?
Shells are the same mate except for that race base front thin crash bar
not sure how it is on ek9 but facelift ej9/ek4/ek3 have 2 side impact bars welded in the doors while prefacelifts only have 1 bar.
interesting I will have to have a look cheers !
@@huktuned thats "german" spec models btw. no idea how uk or jdm cars will be

that’s why this is U.K. spec. but Yh ore facelift is easy to fit facelift more difficult. across the world they did different mountings god knows why
