    I love the work side best. The colors are so pretty! I keep a coaster mold nearby and put my extras n layers in it until it is all built up so it is a mixture of colors. Sometimes they turn out pretty sometimes not so much. LOL I also keep some smaller molds of miniature items handy when I have a lot of extra and I fill those up. I then just keep them in a baggie and give them to my great niece and nephews when I see them and they go wild over them.

    I like the working/top side better this time. Apart from the two broad areas of colour, there isn't much contrast on the back side, and not really as much texture as one would expect from a petrie, probably because of the use of the blending white. Then again, I do prefer my petries to be quite deep with lots of 3D effects, so... (shrug). Absolutely gorgeous colours, it's amazing how that red-violet came out so burgundy, which went so well with the orange, yellow and copper. Of course, it's spring here, so maybe I should try out something in pink and green!

    Beautiful. When I have leftover resin, depends on what I have in my mind which varies greatly but sometimes I will put it in pendant molds for later use. Or another thing I like to do is pour it out on something flat and cut it up when it is still bendable in small pieces and then use that on the edges of free form resin pieces cause where I live I can't get decorative broken glass, tried breaking some glass and that doesn't work it is too sharp, but cutting the resin in small pieces works great and I can have any color I want.

    Hi Myriam, love the video.
    I like the work side of this piece. To me it looks volcanic; a flow of lava.
    The other side is as you said, cosmic. Pretty but I would use the work side up.
    Still learning and unsure how to mix just enough resin for my projects. I'm mixing too much and wasting a lot of resin. But still enjoying creating.

    Both sides look great. Different but great. I have not been able to find alcohol to buy in months in the 99% or 91% or even the 70% whatever. Not at the grocery store, the pharmacy (other than alcohol swabs), WM, dollar stores, etc. It has entirely disappeared in our area. But I managed to get some resin, mold shapes, the color, even some silicone liquid (i think that is for the alcohol inks) but until I find some alcohol, I haven't tried anything yet and have to set up a place to work. I love your videos as the are clear and with good notations about what you used, etc.

    But my question is , I live in Canada, and it looks like they don’t want to send it, and I went to Etsy , they wanted to charge for shipping more the the price than the item. Could you please let me know if there is an equivalent to this resin?
    But please keep the teaching , I still want to watch.

    Fabulous Colors & I love the work side. I must add that you are such an expert at predicting how your materials will behave, and truly make magic everytime :) How do you manage to not make a mess, you are definitely the cleanest resin artist I have ever seen! Such precision application, very impressive :)
    In regard to Clearcast, how does it smell? I have only used Art Resin Brand & Stone Coat's Art Coat, which both have a sort of sickening sweet smell. I am looking for a resin with the least amount of odor. I welcome any advise or suggestion. Thanks ;)

    • @MyriamsNature
      @MyriamsNature  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Martha! First of all, thank you for your very kind words. I think that over time you get to know hat happens when you put “x” in “y” and how much of “x” does what. As to being neat, that probably comes from not wanting to waste resin 😅. Now about the odor, I think that every resin has a mild odor (usually part B)... most are hardly noticeable until you heat them/torch them. I’ve gotten so that I hardly notice... and if you wear a mask, you really won’t at all. But to answer your question, I’d say Clearcast is about the same as the others in LEVEL of odor... but the odor itself is different. I have yet to find one with truly NO odor (and I literally have 14 different resins in my studio 😅). Unfortunately the one with the least odor to me is Liquid Diamonds, but because it is sooo thin and waterlike it is not great for petri work. I am always on the hunt so if I find a better resin I will ABSOLUTELY do a video all about it. 😊💕

    I love both sides, love the pattern of the work side but the other side looks to me like the surface of the sun if you were to look close up, well in my mind anyway lol xx

    I had the casting craft sink straight to the bottom of the coaster and come out to the coaster. Is there anyway to clean that up other than putting a clear coating on? Thank you for sharing.

    I like the work side...maybe the other side can be stamp on or decals applied. It will make a great background.

      Me too Mary Lou. 😃 I had a similar thought about the other side… using it as a background. Now to think of what to paint on it 😅.
