    I recommend giving yourself a two month goal of not drinking and just see how much better you feel. You may even forget about alcohol altogether.

    My husband and I booze to have fun. But it strips your fun the entire weekend from the hangover. Then you have withdrawals until Tuesday. Vicious cycle.

      So true. I’m always in the same boat. I don’t fully recover until middle of the week. Then I start feeling normal / good again. Then what do I feel like doing coming Thursday. Yup, cycle needs to stop. 🤢

It will help you get your mind off the booze I sincerely wish the best for you. Every day gets a little better despite the setbacks "relapse". I am 37. I have been a wicked suicidal alcoholic for 20 years this year. My reason I continue to ruin my body is the same reason since the day I knew I was an alcoholic.
    I simply do not see a future worth fighting for.

  • @RJthing

    I went a year without alcohol. Sure I felt a lot better physically and my mind was really clear. However I however I suffer from loneliness and I saw that as a friend. It was better than being alone so I started to drink again

    • @markg.4246
      @markg.4246 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Alcoholics are masters at treating "loneliness" with "isolation". We're just gifted that way. The reality is...There are millions of recovering people around the world, the vast majority of which know that they can't keep their sobriety unless they share it with someone else. This is the beauty of becoming part of a recovery group...you never have to be alone again. The group of people I know are the most responsible, sincere, kind, dependable, honest, and loving human beings I've ever met. After more than 29 years of continuous sobriety, there is NO SITUATION I have encountered, that I had to face alone. I have unlimited access to people from ALL walks of life, who know what to do, whether it's a torn fingernail, or burying a loved one.
      There is NOTHING standing in your way of finding a fellowship...except doing nothing. All the best to you...Mark

    Thank you, for all your talks you send out!!
    I am listing to you since quite a while by now and it gives me some kind of calmness, just to hearing the talk.
    I was clean and sober for 23 years, I stoped when I was 21. By now I am 51, started again drinking 7 years ago.
    Since than I can not stop anymore. It is much worst, then it was in my youth!
    Been in 4 clinical detox and in one rehab , it never lasted long, it’s a nightmare!!
    I have heavy depression, strong anxiety, can’t sleep, isolated myself and so on…by now I know where those things come from and how it developed; that helps a lot in understanding but not in resolving.
    Heard you once ask for topics to speak, maybe you can talk about, I would very appreciate!!
    Sorry for my not so good English, I am from Berlin Germany.
    Thank you lots 🙏

  • @crfogal67
    @crfogal67 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thoughts matter. There is a war in everyone's hearts and minds until they learn to guard the heart and mind and reject the bad thoughts. Some of the things you're saying are contradictory. Yes, you will have bad thoughts, but you don't have to fight them. You simply redirect your thoughts to good or God. The thoughts don't become yours until you choose them for yourself. All good is from God. Philippians 4:8.

      Without taking ACTION, your "thoughts" are worthless!

    • @crfogal67
      @crfogal67 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @markg.4246 Of course. Faith without works is dead, but actions begin with the thoughts, and those thoughts need to be guarded and directed in the right trajectory in order for your works to have the proper solid foundation.

      lol personally i think a lot of Freuds stuff is dangerous. i have studied a lot of it... is that his only accomplishment... no he has some good things too... but the father of modern psych.... yea i think that's a bit much to put on his theories that phrase was a summary of my thoughts on him... but we can agree to disagree on that one its just my personal thoughts.
