"Knowing yourself" is such solid advice. I made a lot more progress when I made my plans based on the person I am, rather than the person I wished I was 😂
Love the final points about being inspired by others but not comparing yourself to others. Easier said than done but important to reinforce. En route to first 100km ultra and your content is great for the mojo, cheers 🍻
As a US viewer… I cracked up when the “Discipline… yeah man” definitely had that typical American accent with appropriate dose of exaggerated machismo and bravado!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Fergus, I agree using a training schedule works best for me. Do you use one calendar for everything or do you use different calendars for managing your training, business and personal life? Lastly do you use any training Apps as I use Polar flow programs to manage my training diary.
Hey Fergus Currently following your strength and 100km plan which is great. I’ve picked up a little niggle in my ankle with about 8 weeks to go until the goal event. What would recommend doing in terms of adjusting training? Today I did a bike session instead of a run, is this a good substitute? Thanks for the great content 😊
Hey dude! Apparently cyclists transfer really nicely to running, whereas runners don’t do so well transferring to cycling. So would imagine that cycling will see you through quite nicely, even though it’ll never be as sport specific for running as running itself!
@@ferguscrawley95 thanks for your quick reply. will look into them. been using the paradigms for a while now and relly dig their wide toebox. looking for another pair
I think a lot of people who claim they don't have time to train sit in front of the TV every day for 2-3+ hours. I used to be very guilty of this...... Don't get me wrong sometimes after a hard day at work etc you do need to relax, but be honest to yourself when you wonder why you haven't trained and don't just blame it on being busy.....
Heyy Fergus, I've always loved your videos, especially the ones about your experience in swimming. It's so great that you share your love for water. Swimming is such an amazing sport and it's lovely to see you enjoy it, keep going with these great videos. If it doesn't bother you, I'd like to give you a suggestion, a tip for the next videos: Basically, you could try inserting some comic and funny stuff... to give everyone a pinch of humor that, in the world of swimming, can never be missing. Now, I don't think much of it, but the first thing I could think of in your sport might be peeing in the water. Once, my uncle, who is a scuba diver, peed in his wetsuit during a long diving session and that moment was absolutely funny, he even wrote "I’m peeing" on a waterproof notebook during the session. He has always been telling me that there are 2 types of divers and swimmers: those who pee in the water and those who lie. I know it may sound strange as a request but, in my opinion, these are moments of happiness and carefree that always make everyone smile. I hope you like the idea and I hope you have a wonderful day!
