I flew to Austin on Saturday, spent the whole day creating this one. I heard a rumor that one of the filming locations was about to be destroyed/ gone forever. I made it a priority to finally make my Texas Chainsaw Massacre pilgrimage. Huge fan of the original film! I hope you enjoy my journey, this one took a lot of logistics and time, as most filming locations projects do, but THAT WIND made it the most difficult time I’ve ever had making a video. All fun tho! Thank you for always watching. I had to make sure I put a ton of LEATHERFACE matchups inside the Sawyer home and that Gas Station. Happy to present this project to the TCM fans.

Excellent work, Jay! Like I mentioned to you before, some of my favorite TH-cam videos, are filming locations videos. You've done it again with this one, sir. 👏 I love how thorough you are in matching up scenes in such perfect detail. Right on! 👍 👍 Lookin' forward to all of your future videos! It's so wild how much that landscape has changed in 50 years from country land to a cityscape, and for the original gate to the property is like it's stuck in time. Very curious. Loved this video

Love that you went into a restaurant where people were eating, filmed them eating (blurred, which is good) and described the disgusting horrors that went on in that room. 😂 I laughed out loud. "Honey, I think we'll go to McDonald's after all.."

I worked in the Texas chainsaw massacre maze at Universal Studios Hollywood Horror nights 2021 and it was an absolute blast! the maze was exactly room for room just like the house! every room was spot on as well as the actors! we had the dining table, the chicken room, the gas station, the graveyard, it was a truly amazing experience, We scared so many people! and it was one year to remember. I had never seen the movie before but once i watched it I was living in it for 2 months as the hitchhiker, nubbins sawyer! it was epic! can’t wait for the next year

WELL DONE!!!! I know how difficult this one was for you and all the editing and research and hard work it took, and it shows!! So proud of you!!! I'm sorry it was so windy! I'm just thankful your hat didn't blow away too far, it would be a shame to lose that baby! :P I appreciate your "long-winded" (pun intended?) filming location videos, you are always so thorough and it's ridiculously impressive. Keep em comin! That is so awesome that restaurant has leaned into the movie like that, I know the fans have to appreciate it! And it's equally cool they let you film so much of it! Lol, your convo with grandpa!! It really is kinda crazy that a restaurant is there now... I'm just now putting that together as I'm watching this. Omg, you almost lost both your hat and your sunglasses in this vid! Someday I hope to join you on one of your filming location vids, but I have to say...... I'm glad it wasn't this one lol. 27:55 , I watched and re-watched this moment like 5 times LOL!!!! I've never been so honored or proud to be a part of your life as I am right now haha! Omg the Whataburger moment.... can't believe you got a 100% "beef" burger without me!! Oh wow, the memorial at the gas station was really cool and strangely touching. And I wasn't expecting a horror store on the inside, that is AWESOME!! LOL, the ending!! Again, so proud to be in your life

Great video. Texas Chainsaw massacre (1974) is probably my favorite horror movie. Truly creepy and relentless but not gory. The tone of this and other 70s and 80shorror movies will never be duplicated. Today’s horror movies are almost too well

37:44 Never expected to get emotional over a bench but that thing is a very touching memorial for those that passed. 27:55 Gunnar would of been proud of your dance and this was such a great part of the video. So sad this area is going to be changed forever in a little while after remaining mostly untouched for all those years. TCM is my favorite movie and I always dreamed of going out to the filming locations. Maybe one day I can make it to the BBQ and stay the night in one of the cottages but by then this unfortunately will have been developed. Thanks for bringing us this great experience, you put a lot of effort into this one and it definitely shows. You helped preserve this area for everyone to see even after it is gone. Thank you

Ive lived in Texas all my life "Still do" and i got to see the Farmhouse before it was moved, as a kid.. i got to see all the locations back in the early 90s as just a kid... it kinda breaks my heart at 40 to see how different everything is now... i mean, at least Hoopers "they changed the name of it from Grand Central to Hoopers a few years ago i believe?" is still there... Renovated and beautiful. but that Road... that road was amazing... but now its just... poof..
i mean, we'll always have the Memories... and the movie... but damn dude.. it just hurt to see it so torn up... its funny how just a couple decades and the Earth "Reclaims" what was once there..

Found info on who Pickle, shown at 4:28, was. Genealogytrails says, "Pvt. J. Clarence Pickle, son of J. R. and Ellen Wells Pickle, Dallas, was born June 29, 1895, at Austin, Texas. He received his education in the Dallas High School and volunteered for service with the Marine Corps, June 1, 1918, and was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 11th Regiment, which received its training at Paris Island, South Carolina, and Quantico, Virginia. He contracted Spanish influenza at Quantico, which developed into pneumonia, and in spite of medical assistance died on September 21, 1918. His company sailed for France November 2, 1918. Private Pickle possessed medal awarded him by Government for marksmanship. He gave his life in an attempt to uphold the principles of right and humanity, for which his country fought." Although, it looks like the gravestone says he died on 9/28/18, which hard to say which is correct. There's another shot in this video that shows a "Wells" gravestone nearby, so that is most likely family from his mom's side.

I was in college when this came out. Went to see it at the campus theater. I was terrified throughout the whole movie. I found out afterwards that campus security caught a frat boy with a chainsaw and complete costume. He was going to run down the aisles while revving up the chainsaw. I would’ve passed out! I couldn’t watch another scary movie until I watched this again and laughed through it. Anyway, thanks for all the work you put into this one, my friend. It’ll always hold a special place in my heart and memories.👍💕😊

My fav horror film ever, infact imo the greatest horror film ever made. I love you went in attention to detail, I know il never be able to visit these locations living in the UK, and if I did have the chance visiting old country Rd would be the 1st on my list. I wonder how many ppl that live right by the ending scene know that this classic film was filmed there. Amazing

For all of you that don't know, Leatherface was based on a real person called Ed Gein (The Butcher Of Plainfield) a murderer and grave robber, Ed Gein was also the inspiration for Norman Bates from Psycho, and loosely Buffalo Bill from The Silence Of The Lambs 🥀❤🖤🥀

@@billyrichards8834 🤦🏻‍♂️ Where did I say Ed Gein Chainsawed people? Ed Gein was the inspiration for Leatherface because he made human face masks from the corpses that he dug up and wore them, And he wasn't called the Wisconsin axe killer 😂😂 He was called the Butcher Of Plainfield, or the Plainfield Ghoul, and only Ed knows if he ate human organs, he denied it, but when the police searched the house, they saw 2 hearts in the kitchen on a pot on the stove.
