I mean, more of them used guns as weapons than swords sooooo... seriously, the swords were *big* status symbols to an even greater degree than anime and movies would lead you to believe but they were very nearly never used in actual combat (or even particularly thought of as real weapons) whether you're using "samurai" to refer to a particularly trusted secretary who takes care of the actual day to day logistics and decisions of ruling a territory while the lord focuses on partying for the purposes of politics or it's a thousand years later and you're talking about a member of a mercenary group wandering around flipping between killing people for a cut of the local lord's tax money and cutting out the middleman with some good old banditry whenever they can't land a contract. ^there's no taboo against it or anything swords are just basically _never_ the weapon of choice outside of very specific circumstances which people to whom the term "samurai" applied almost never found themselves in, they used guns pretty extensively for a couple centuries though so, again, they would be more historically appropriate than swords by volume of use even if the time period is much shorter. bows were the big "this is my prowess as a soldier" cultural weapon even while guns were in common use in japan btw, so you're not just right you're more right than you appear to know.
The first time you ever play the game the arasaka heist is so exciting and shocking. After every other playthrough it is a horrible chore I deeply dread. I can't be the only one.
@@themythicalpickle😊 As for a next run idea Can you beat cp2077 as a ninja Being able to use only knives and needing to do as much stealth as possible, adding your own twists and turns are also necessary ( like the honor thing mentioned here) Could be fun 🫡
@@DrNeonGamingit’s honestly sad how much takemura cares about that family especially since you can see they view him as replaceable if you do the devil ending while he’s dead
I just got back into CP 2077 and started my first playthrough in patch 2.0 with the PL DLC. First build I made was what I called a "Bullet Time Samurai Netrunner" aaaand...damn I went hard into blades cuz come on. Swords are awesome. I also didnt know about some of the blades you showed in here so I even learned something. Solid vid bro. Keep up that good work!
Probably as soon as I found out where to get a katana in the game I switched up and decided to start being a ninja so now if I ever get the game again I'll probably go back to that spot and grab the katana when I get to the mission lol
i know its barely on topic but theoretically shouldnt alt be able to copy johnnys engram off the chip and soulkill v to overwrite him with, making v the chip's inhabitant and overwrite himself?
imo, the Tanto knife and Kunai (I believe these are melee weapons, but I don't play Cyberpunk only watch it so i don't remember sry) should've been allowed bc these were weapon used by traditional samurai. They were never known to throw them, at least to my knowledge, but it would've been some extra variety, otherwise, legendary vid.
Id actually say that a samurai would have a lot of options for weapontraithe bat would resemble a samurai club. The knives would be similar to wakazashi which would be used in martial arts. They even started using guns nesr thr end of the samurais use.
would bows be allowed? they were the actual main weapon of a samurai, it's even why their armor looked the way it did! (all those big boxy shapes and panels sticking out make a HELL of a lot more sense when you think it through as armor for someone fighting with a bow in a group against a group of several someone else with a bow, ideally from horseback. also much like with knights and nearly every other mounted cavalry style people from any point in history in any geographic region with mounts (not just horses even!) they vastly preferred polearms as mele weapons. heck, even when using swords it was usually the short one that got used as an actual weapon not the long one since about the only situation where they used a sword in a non-ritualistic manner was during surprise self-defense situations which just so happened to occure in tight spaces WAY more often than a nice open area.
8:40 to be fair many samurai used bows. While a handgun isn’t a bow you know gotta adapt with the times.

Oda Nobunaga used guns along with his men.
Yes but if you are literally faster than bullets, mostly bulletproof, can literally move in bullet time, you'd revert back to melee.
"Wake the fu- oh your awake"
By the way at 6:24, you can initiate combat with maelstrom right away by not sitting on the couch when Dum Dum tells you too for future reference
btw samurais used guns as soon as they got their hands on them so technically you can use guns to make a samurai build in Cyberpunk
cyberpunk samurai build but i just play the game normally

Can you beat cp2077 as a ninja

You should do a ninja run in star field. Requirements being the Ryjun quest line, only using the ninja themed weapons and weapons that ryjun makes
What all the starts say about being a samurai
Street Kid- in it for the money
Corpo- in it for the honor
Nomad- in it for the heck of it
Wake up Samurai We have an honor code to keep
Why was takemura so mad? You kept Oda alive, AND saved him!
I know right!? 😂
If you don't do the Devil ending, Hanako dies in the assault on Arasaka Tower

Bro took “Wake the fuck up Samurai” too literally and I love it XD

HANK! DONT ABBrREVIATE CYBERPUNK!
I HIGHLY recommend the "More Iconic Blades" mod. Adds 30+ Katanas and 40+ Tantos. Very fun mod.
@@Laminity sadly I'm only on PS5 so I can't mod lol
Great job!
Thanks Mike, good to see you again!
Samurai knew hand to hand combat
Got to do a john wick run
missed opportunity to not be the Seattle samurai
What’s the song during the Adam smasher boss fight, been trying to find it but no luck so thought I’d ask.

Fun fact: Samurai also used muskets and matchlock pistols.
To get the satori katana do you need the dlc?
yes with ease. that was one of my play throughs was katana and throwing knife.
"I HAVE GOD & ANIME ON MY SIDE."
Can you win using the way of the warrior, yes, yes you can. Also burning blade hot.
What is a directly damaging prek?
why is PERKS misspelled or am i crazy opening intro?

Theres no Kunai, but theres two throwable Tanto.
@ yeah… thought so… =(
i would love to play this game as a samurai😍
Everyone is forgetting about the kanabo a spiked club that was used by some samurai.
wish i had a big mythical pickle like you do 😥😥😥😥😥😥

Whats the difficulty setting on the challenge?
Try the sandy and biyakko
Man I get street kid is the most popular background but nomad is literally a ronin. How can you tell me street kid is the most similar background.

So I guess we are just making a ghostrunner
The best katana in the game is from side quests
My brother from another jar!
Corpo would have been the correct life path. Samurai were nobility and not gutter rats. Also apparently Samurai did not use Tantos?
Ghost of tsushima 2077
why you pronounce it takemara?
Streetkid is actually the least samurai
Wait I thought you were like famous while watching this video?? How aren't you??
Haha Maybe one day!
You can't NOT play this game as a Samurai!
Easily
I'm not even watching.
Katana run is the easiest thing ever, the answer is yes.
yep. My build - katana + 2 throwing knives
