  • 1970s Entex 1/16 1914 Dennis Motor Fire Engine, Kit 8473
This week we’re sharing something not-so-military from my father’s collection. This fire engine kit boasts excellent detail with over 500 parts. It has steerable wheels, real rubber tires, a working suspension system and pre-colored parts - no painting required! The hood raises to reveal the engine. The truck is 17” long and even longer with the operating extension ladder. It was made in Japan and sold by Entex Industries.
Dad never built this one, but as you can see from the price tag, he got it on sale from Toytown. :-) I hope you enjoy this lovely kit.

I remember Entex kits. had one but no longer remember what it was. Our stored had quite a few of their kits for sale. I believe they were big in hand held electronic games. Quality varied as they reboxed a lot of Japanese kits. That looks like a very detailed kits having 500 parts.

Thanks for commenting! It does look like an amazing kit. I don't think Dad ever built any, but he had a number of car and plane models by them.

Though not a military model; this is an incredibly detailed model that I suspect is a joy to build - whatever a modeler's usual subject matter! Being molded in various colors, a reasonably experienced modeler in 6th - 8th Grade could probably get good results with patient, careful assembly, while a more advanced adult modeler could turn out a museum piece!
The picture of the instruction sheet raises an interesting question: This appears to be a photo of the assembled model, complete with figures. But just below the photo is the phrase, "Not Included Figures." I wonder if there was an earlier issue of this kit that came with figures, that were deleted in later releases? (According to Scalemates, this was originally a Bandai kit that came out in 1972, before being released under the Entex label.) It would be interesting to find out . . . .
    4th like.

I saw that in the instructions, too, because I always look for the figures now. ;-) I looked on eBay and found the Bandai kit and it does include the figures! Thanks for watching and commenting.

I built a ENTEX 1/72 SPAD WW1 fighter plane many years ago, still sits on my model shelf today….
I’m curious, WHAT other subjects / kits ENTEX made…
    This was interesting…..

Your kits remain on the shelf for all to see. The ones in the TARBIS don't.😀😀

Dad has several car and commercial plane models by them. He had a huge 1/100 Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet that claimed it was "the largest plastic plane model kit ever made."

@@vintagemilitarymodelkits I have hear about that kit. Supposed to be a good kit and big. Rare and expensive now on the secondary market.
