I experienced a miniature horror story with mannequins the other day. Turns out my physics mod affects mannequin bodies as well, and uh, well, therefore jiggly mannequins. 😬
I wonder, if you have low health or bad effects with chems or even crippled, your reload becomes janky. For example, if you have low health, you keep missing the mag hole and you are having a hard time reloading. I call this mod, Natural Reload Animations
I can see how the "Thermal Vision Framework" would be liked by tacti-cool players. But for me, I much prefer the old mod "West Tek Tactical Optics" by fadingsignal for being a lot more lore and vanilla aesthetic friendly, not to mention requiring you to find the schematics and skills to fully utilize (or just using only the drops from encounters) to use. I've been combining that with "Pip-Boy Flashlight" by akkalat85 and "Darker Nights" by unforbidable for a loooooong time. They're absolute staples of my load order. It's a great combo for a lot more realism in Fallout 4 that fits the vanilla Fallout 4 aesthetic and balances the pros and cons very well.
Dak I suggest you use a micro mod that I love to use, it’s called Satojomov Armory. It grants additional attachments to some of the weapons in fallout 4 vanilla. Example: assault rifles get Airial Barrels that are much lighter compared to standard counterparts and an Ammo Box magazine that holds a but load of ammo. Hunting rifle get alternative receivers that turn them into combat rifles, some semi automatic and fully automatic. Pistols and revolvers get stocks and the 44 gets a special silencer barrel. And sub machine guns get a new receiver, barrel and stocks.
I didnt download the partial reload because that isnt actually how it works. It depends on how the action works. Handguns fire from a closed bolt, so yes, they would have one in the chamber. Most automatic rifles however will fire from an open-bolt. So, logically, only the handguns and the hunting rifle are likely to benefit.
thats not entirely true. Most automatic guns, semi or full, fire from a closed bolt and thats why you have to rechamber a round on an empty mag unless they have a last round bolt hold open, I dont think any guns in the base game fallout 4 are open bolt. some closed bolt guns include AR's, AK's, G3's/HK91's (Fallout 3 Assault Rifle), Etc. well some open bolt guns include, The Grease Gun, UZI, Sten, Tec-9, B.A.R., Etc. Open Bolt guns tend to be easier to develop and most modern gun have tended to stray away from it because the bolt sliding forward can throw off your first shot slightly

I totally forgot the SMG is a Thompson so thats an open bolt gun in 4, and I dont even know where to begin with the "Assault Rifle" so I have no clue. hope that helps with any future gun related topics you find yourself talking about!
@@ollie459 There is no way the auto pipe gun is closed bolt. Its a bodge job from scrap. IRL guns built in a similar fashion which are capable of automatic fire are open bolt for a reason. The assault rifle was clearly based on MG designs, in particular, the lewis gun so I feel pretty safe saying it should fire from an open bolt. The radium rifle looks to be based on the STG-44 which, the prototype accepted for further development was originally open-bolt, this was later changed. So I could go either way on the radium rifle. There is no reason to design a combat shotgun to fire from a closed bolt. The very modern AA-12 fires from an open bolt. The only advantage a closed bolt gives you is that your accuracy wont be disrupted. This isn't a factor on a shot gun. Modern MGs are still usually firing from an open bolt because when the primary feature of your weapon is automatic fire, an open bolt is both better for cooling, and safer in that you cannot cook off a round if one isnt in the chamber. I could go either way on the combat rifle because it has early 20th century influence from the PPSH-41 and the BAR which are both open bolt weapons. But you are correct, in that, if it was supposed to be this fallouts actual assault rifle, a smart design would feature a closed bolt. But I modded both the combat rifle and the "assault rifle" out of my game because they are both abominations. I replaced the combat rifle with the R91 and I found a mod that converts the assault rifle into an LMG and changes it visually to not look stupid.
@@Justowner well yes your correct on most accounts, the pipegun is clearly shown to be a closed bolt on its model, it must run on magic because theres like no way it works but its visually closed bolt, the Radium Rifle is based on one of the Volkssturmgewehr rifles and its only link to the stg44 is that one version uses the same magizines. From the reading I did on it, it was hard to find an answer, the gun in game has this whole reciprocating barrel thing going on when you cock it so its vague at best. The Combat Rifle and Shotgun both visually have the bolt forward when held at the ready. Really this boils down to FO4 being laughably bad with its firearms so its obvious that the functionality doesnt always make sense, but they are closed bolt.

@Degenerate Dak just to clarify on the MW Minigun reload, it does in fact has a reload animation. I dropped all of my ammo and equipped the weapon then picked up said ammo, the animation is the player character changing out the ammo belt as one would in MW.
Fun fact: We do have man-held miniguns. "So if you like heavy weapons..." As a great Thrashball player once said "I like my guns like I like my women - Heavy and Loud!"
thermal vision frame work could be better and more immersive imho .... just have the different effects tied to different wearable goggles for regular human use and have it integrated into various power armors as auxiliary sensor packs for power armor heads up displays.

if u do a partial reload, u dont need to pull the reciever lever after tho, else that one round is gone (atleast by my understanding of rifle functions, since that put a new round in the chamber and empty the chamber of the previously loaded round). or am i wrong?
that's why i said to use this mod with the "tactical reload" mod. This mod provides the correct ammo count, tactical reload provides the correct animations
I believe open-bolt weapons like the Thompson should not retain the extra round in the chamber, since it only chambers a round in conjunction with firing it, and has no chambered round unless it's gotten stuck there, in which case it'd lead to a failure to feed the next shot.

You could indeed carry the MW Minigun, but you could not fire it as it has no mag and power supply. Furthermore shooting from hip something thatfires 50-100 7.62x51 rounds per second is pretty impossible That's why fallout's miniguns, made specifically to be used while dismounted, is much more realistic
After seeing this video i downloade the wearable super mutant armor mod, but for some reason all of the super mutants i run into ain't wearing anything besides helmets.

Uneducated reload on that specific animation is wrong. You would be ejecting your chambered round and stripping one off the top of the fresh mag, leaving you 30 in the gun and one on the ground
I hate to tell you this but you don’t know what you’re talking about. When reloading ‘most’ magazine fed firearms, if you have not completely emptied the magazine there is one more round in the chamber of the weapon. So if you have 1 in the chamber and you add a mag with 30 rounds, you get 31. That’s also why guns are sold with mag sizes of “30+1” or “10+1”

the MW Minigun does actually have a custom reload animation. You can see it if you just pick more ammo up while the gun is equipped.
Pair the Todd Howard cutouts with the General Todd Howard statues for the true experience.

The reload mod is cool but they overlooked the fact you still charge the weapon which would clear the round that's in the chamber
