You could make the last word as a laser weapon, with a fusion cell in the middle, you'd probably have to do some animating though so I'm not sure if it's in the cards for you
IMO, it makes institute weapons, even with weker damage, more realistic. Of course they do slightly less damage, they reduced the bulk and unwieldiness by half!

Honestly, these mods here can be described as "diamonds in the rough", especially when it comes to console modding. Its been a few months till we got a pretty good mod that can stay in almost every load order, for years
Absolutely hated the bulkiness of the Institute weapons, combined with the fact that they were more awful than the standard laser rifle. The first mod might actually make me consider trying out the Institute weapons again for an Institute playthrough. Rad.

Hey dak, i didn't know who else to consult but do you think the Institute debulked pack will work with The6thmessenger's old Superior Laser Plasma weapon overhaul mod? Or will it break the institute weapons?
I just thought of a good mod for Baseball Bats, have it in a house on the wall and engraving says "Swing Away" with faster swing speed...it probably would just have to have the same speed as the police paton...😅
i would love to see a "recruit Institute personelle" mod where you can take advantage of quests like "A House Divided" and recruit exiled Institute personel into your settlements. Quests like "A House Divided, Plugging a Leak" and individuals like Virgil produce a unique opportunity to incorporate Institute personel into your settlements, which the game doesn't take. Its very hard to get "Resettle Refugees" so why not make something like this...? Part of the reason why its so much easier to kill the Institute for me than it is the Railroad or Brotherhood is I don't get as attached to their characters. They have less time on screen. We spend two of the three acts of the game viewing them as the bad guys, and when we defeat their faction they get angry and attack us or they just disappear or, in the case of Liam Binet a tragic end. Why can't I have Doctor Li and Virgil shack up in their mutual grief after the Institute is destroyed? Why can't I give Virgil a home where he's less likely to be eaten by a Deathclaw and take his knowledge of how to cure supermutants to his grave? Their technical expertise would make them the good subject of a Wasteland "Project Paperclip". In case you didn't know Project Paperclip was an attempt by the US government to recruit Nazi scientists to work for them post world war 2. For that matter, one of the hardest things for me to do when it comes time to kill the Brotherhood is shoot Haylen and Rhys. They're two of the first three brotherhood characters we meet in the game. And Haylen had her head together enough to help you save Paladin Danse. I've also taken a bit of a liking to Ingram and Quinlan. We can find Ingram's body in the ruins of the Prydwyn. If for example we could mod that so she's still alive and turning into a ghoul, we could use something like irradiated blood to try and save her. There's also the Cabot House serum and its ability to heal. If you make it so that every Brotherhood named character you save gives the settlement they're in a bonus, well there's only so much Cabot serum to go around. It would give me a reason to side with Lorenzo. Usually I side with Jack because Lorenzo's psychotic and driven that way by an eldritch artifact. For that matter, the Cabot serum could be used to save Liam. The game also already has timers built into it as a mechanism for radiant quests. So its possible for example that you only have so much time to save Liam or Ingram or squad Gladius before they die. If you fail to find Liam, he lays down next to the crator in Cambridge and lets the radiation take him. If you fail to find Ingram, you find her as a feral ghoul trapped in a power armor frame. If you fail to find Haylen or Rhys they get killed by raiders. In fact I'd love to find one or both of them captive in a raider den like you would do if raiders take a settler hostage. Make it so that if you have Paladin Danse with you when you find them, (via a mod) the charisma check to get them to come with you is easier or they go with little protest. Then recruit them out of the bunker Danse was living in as potential settlers.With Liam, if you bring X6-88 with you he could carry Liam back for medical treatment. If you have Curie, she can treat him. Regardless when you find him you're immediately fast traveled back to whatever settlement you claimed first and Liam recovers there and becomes a settler. If you fail to find him, the same scene at the Railroad that you'd normally get with their ending plays out. You wouldn't be able to save everyone, that was the point. But you could save your favorites. That and a mod that lets me LOCK containers so settlers don't steal weapons from them during settlement attacks would be REALLY nice.
Now if only someone would rework Synth Armor. Some of it is good, like the helmet, but the rest of it just...idk it doesn't do it for me. Looks like it hurts to wear. The one from the conept art looked better imo.
Have you looked up C.A.S.T.? It’s could suit your taste. I believe someone also made the concept armor in game already. It’s probably gonna be on the nexus
You should make a high quality plasma gun mod pistol and rifle the one we have in fallout 4 is just too bulky and it looks unrealistic looks like something that wouldn't shoot in real life
Hey Dak I play on Xbox and pc and I wondered if you would consider making a mod for the west-tek optics that would make it compatible with other mods, such as wasteland melody’s service rifle, the DKS or any other semi popular “lore friendly” weapon. I mainly think it would benefit the WM service rifle because of the marksmen scope you made and I think that service rifle aesthetically fits FO4 more then Deadpool’s.

I don't think Thorn is that overpowered, compared to other mods. It's a revolver... worse, it's a PIPE revolver, which means... 6 bullets, long ass reload, wrist-breaking recoil, no accuracy and even fire rate is one of the worst in the game... so you're literally trading EVERYTHING for firepower. All in all pretty balanced, as far as mod weapons go (besides you can glitch a full auto rocket launcher or full auto shotgun with infinite magazine size relatively easily in the base game, so... it's Bethesda.. the game is as difficult as you make it for yourself). I see you're still glitching yourself with the reload from a video or two back :D getting 7-8 bullets in a 6 bullet revolver lmao
I have a really cool fallout 4 mod and I know it doesn't exist because I've tried to find it for the past year or so I haven't been able to find it on the mods on Xbox or the Nexus so it probably doesn't exist but I'm hoping someone has or is making a fallout 4 BB gun mod

Institute Weapons Debulked is immediately going in my load order. I'd love to use the Institute guns but I'd also like to actually see things.

Rifles should drain less AP when aiming, cuz you hold them closer to your body, they're inherently more stable, I think.

The size of the Institue weapons is a problem but not the biggest one. That is the lack of dmg compared to normal lazer weapons
