@@HinrenEngineering Sir, We had this type of Solar cooker provided by Madhya Pradesh Government in the year 1987 itself. We totally enjoyed it. Be it rice, cooked vegetables or dal. The temperature in Durg & Bhilai was 40 to 48 degrees during summer season. We would get the boiled rice with in one hour itself, when placed 8am in the morning. We have to adjust the mirror facing sun, then only it will take less time to cook. You described 4 hours to cook that means you haven't adjusted the mirror position to the sun. Please try it. We are still enjoying it in Karnataka, after 35 years of purchase.

Why didn't to show the temperature of the utensil after opening the solar cooker? Also you didn't show the cooked dal. Did you really get both of them properly cooked?

I called about 5 solar shops and they all say that all subsidies for this sector were abolished since 2014.Also the GST has been increased by 5-6 percent on solar products meaning I wud have to shell out another 3-4 k extra!
