The absence of any mention of Deb after she left, not to mention her rather abrupt-exit storyline, was one of the few misses in the life of ER. She was an anchor during the show's middle years - seasons 6 to 10 -, what some may call the lost years. I liked her character very much.
Me too! Somebody made an interesting comment on a message board awhile back. They would have been too perfect for each other and that makes for boring tv. I wish they had gotten together at the end though.

@@sweetlife031 Yes he did and the colostomy bag was temporary. He was lucky in that regard. The colon was healed.
It's understandable that he would resort to narcotics as a relief from both the physical and emotional pain.
