Just gotten my hands on this frother. After being disappointed with 3 electric ones, where the results were inconsistent, this one, gives me the best frothed milk, every time!
I bought one at work recently for a great price of $17.00 Canadian (£10.50). I noticed the interior appears to indeed be coated in Teflon. It could make a great gift for someone who doesn't mind the materials used. I feel Bialetti opted for function over quality in this item. DuPont at one time used PFOS (or PFOA) to give Teflon its non-stick properties. I'm very leery of anything synthetic these days and prefer using glass, ceramic and steel. It's a beautiful item nonetheless. Thank you for the great review. 🙂
I use this mini frother / blender thingy, it cost like 1,80$, and this site i'm a member of (In Denmark) they give them away for free with certain orders 🙂Most people already have like an electrical drill, just attach a whisk to that 🙂
I warm the milk in the microwave first, then pump this about 60 to 80 times, then put 1/2 of that aerated milk back into the microwave for 30 seconds to get a REALLY rich foam. Try it! Who needs starbucks?
I've got one and have been using it for some time. What I hate is that it is teflon coated and I just noticed a few scratches. So buying another one is quite costly here... I dunno what to do.
Looks awesome but will this work on my induction hot plate please? I’m thinking I might need to also purchase the Bialetti induction plate tool too? Please advise so I can go ahead and purchase, thank you
Yes it will, although using an induction hot plate does stiffle the heat of the stove to the unit a good amount - 🤔 however this may actually work in your benefit as you're heating milk and dont want it to get too hot 👌 Currently not aware of any Induction Frothers like this one - however , if you have the budget - I'd highly recommend the Nanofoamer Pro, this will be the last milk frother you buy: alternativebrewing.com.au/products/subminimal-nanofoamer-pro-automatic-milk-foamer
Brother could you please suggest which size is good to buy the 3 cup or the 6 cup. Will the 6 Cup Size work for smaller quantity as well or it has got a limitation of minimum required milk?
does it come in a smaller size? 1litre is a large container for one latte, and a little bulky to put in my backpack. I am after something very portable to take anywhere.
You can froth milk for one latte. It's just the travel size that might be an issue. You might get a bit worse results using a French press if you can find it in smaller size, unless of course you can find it with the double mesh that makes this so awesome
I used to own a cheap $10 battery powered frother that I bought on Amazon. It worked ok but died a couple months later. Then I looked at reviews of other frothers. All the 4 and 5 star reviews were from people who just bought one while all the 1, 2, and 3 star reviews were from people who owned it long enough to realize it was disposable junk. So this option looked interesting to me until you mentioned Teflon. Have you seen Dark Waters? I’m not sure if there are any good non-toxic durable non-stick coatings available for products like this.
Thanks for the video! Just wondering if the tuttacrema has a minimum volume? I like to make a piccolo or small latte at home so will be only frothing small volumes at a time.
Yes it will, I woudl say that's around 150ml - but I haven't tested this. It's because there is a double filter and you'd want to be able to cover both below the milk.
Looking at the double filter I would assume that a Bodum French press would do virtually the same thing. Obviously you couldn’t put it on the stovetop but the microwave method would work fine. Now if only my French press wasn’t at work and I wasn’t quarantined......
You could use a thermometer to heat the milk slowly - up to 65-70ºc - definitely no more than that... it does not have a thermometer on it no.. so it's going by the look of the milk.. you'll see it slowly start to steam up - but you want to avoid the milk boiling

Don't over-heat plant milk - you want to keep plant milk under around 55ºc. Any more than this and it will split and look funky and will not foam very well 👌
it does take a little bit of practice to get the best consistency in the milk ... first thing you'll want to try is using a thermometer to get the best temperature ... around 60ºc 👌 then as far as the thickness of the milk goes - you may need to swirl it out in a seperate Milk Jug - aim for a thick milk as you can always thin it out by splitting it back and forwards from the Tuttocrema to a milk jug .. this will help get the thickness of the milk just right for latte art -
Mine lasted a couple of years of fairly frequent use, at least weekly, and then the plastic of the plunger started softening and warping in the hot milk and it no longer froths. A bit annoying as you can’t replace parts.
depends on the circumstances - Electrical frothers aren't always an option - or if you're brewing coffee on the stove anyway, you might as well have the milk on there too. It works for camping and travel just as good - an electrical one, that's automatic will always do a better job consistently than a manual one. OR check out the Bellman 50SS steamer 👌 that's the best by far
Mine doesn't work, can't get any froth out of the milk no matter how many different ways and pump counts I try. I'm using a barista version of an oatmilk which supposedly should foam up nicely. Any ideas?
It doesn't give silky foam results or you need to work harder to achieve the same result if the French press doesn't have the double mesh, where the magic is with this one. I love this, I universally have hated all french presses that I've encountered. For the same price as this all french presses just break. Hate them.
I've done it before. And yes it produces satisfactory results. My big question is if this is easier to clean up afterwards? If so, I'm sold. I don't have a dishwasher and normally I just rinse the French press. But if I put milk in it then I have to take it all the way apart and clean every last tiny component, it's a whole thing. So I only really use my French press for that on days where I feel I should give it a proper cleaning anyway.

I just use a $7.00 coffee plunger from k mart. Seems to froth the milk up fairly well.
i just tested this, exciting. i came across this link (to consider a variety of density). surely a huge secret not known by many..

Nice and simple video, thanks! helped a lot :)

Yes, I'd got the 6.
3 is too small for anything more the 1 cup

Yes, there is a smaller one

The Bialetti instructions specifically say to NOT heat the milk with the plunger in it.
Thanks!

What heat and for how long do you heat the milk in the frother when you use the gas stove? Is there a temperature gauge?
You could use a thermometer to heat the milk slowly - up to 65-70ºc - definitely no more than that... it does not have a thermometer on it no.. so it's going by the look of the milk.. you'll see it slowly start to steam up - but you want to avoid the milk boiling
I put a little meat thermometer in mine and wait until it’s hits 150f. Then remove thermometer, put the top on and get to frothing

Could you please advise which one is better to but for latte macchiato - tuttocrema or bialetti mukka?
Does it still work with plant milk? I tried it but it doesn't reach the fluffiness desired; maybe I'm doing something wrong! Any advice?

@@AlternativeBrewing there's "frottable" soy milk now.
use oat-milk, check which one at your neighbourhood is best for baristas
Does the glass one work on on the stove top? that appears to be the only one in stock?
I understand these are promotional videos but you really seem to do the work and give a shit about what you're presenting. Keep it up!
thanks!
How do you make latte art with this thing? I'm finding it impossible to make it with mine. The milk is either too thin or too thick - no happy medium.

@@AlternativeBrewing - Thank you, I appreciate the advice. I'll continue to experiment to see if I can make it work. Thanks again!

do you prefer the manual frother or would you prefer an electric one like the delonghi?

Does this work with induction?
It does not no :(
maybe also aerate wine?
Why not! 🥂
Is it possible to put something like a golden milk or a hot chocolate from the stove straight into this milk frother? :)
100% Yes 👍
Sold!
THANK YOUUU!!!
🥰🥰🥰
You’re welcome 😊

Perhaps try pumping faster? and heating the milk up a little hotter
Can you put the Tuttocrema jug in the microwave?
Hi Susan, no you cannot sorry - as it is metal with a plastic handle.
Is this the larger 6 cup version, or the smaller 3 cup version?
6 Cup Version 👌
Wow
Good
Thanks
It works also with vegan milk?
Yes it would 👍
How do you know how hot the milk is?
I would use a thermometer in the milk or watch for when it begins to get skin on top of the milk - you want to stop it right there
Milk frotha
Or you just use a way cheaper French press, which you can also use for your coffee and tea.
You can't heat up a French press on the stove though
