This video is the core of the resurrection argument and goes over most of the historical data.
1st Note - This way of arguing for the resurrection was adopted from philosopher Tim McGrew and expanded on.
2nd Note - I am using the term "theory" loosely, not in a strict scientific sense, but in a loose sense to simply mean an idea of what possibly happened in the past.

As a scientist and former Atheist, I could not get myself to believe something if there was not compelling evidence to support it. After studying the history regarding the death and resurrection of Jesus - I could no longer hold onto my scepticism lest I call myself a bigot. I now admit and accept that Jesus is who He says He is.

@ Marachenka: You assert: #1 that without compelling evidentiary support you're not about to grant belief and #2 that now you believe. However in your comment you neglect to cite any of the evidence that compelled your belief. If you have the time will you list all of that compelling evidence? Also, because in your comment you inappropriately capitalized "atheist" it seems that you may have betrayed that you're not as learned as you say.

@ Peter Salucci: When a scientist wants it to be clear that it takes compelling evidence to get him to believe something, he declares belief, and then he neglects to cite any evidence, then my interest is piqued and I wonder why the apparent oversight. Perhaps I'm just more desirous to have that crucial additional information plainly stated than you are. Also, based on my pointed reply to responder "Marachenka" that you would question whether I read his post simply baffles. Could it be that it is you who lacks certain essential reading comprehension skills?

Wow, just wow! I have been raised athiest/spiritualist my entire life and only within the past few years has my fascination with Christianity been growing. I've always admired the teachings of Jesus, but some of the things claimed in the Bible made my sceptical brain doubtful. I always viewed it as a beautiful story of morality, nothing more. However, recently I have been pondering what makes a Christian a Christian, and found that it hinges on the belief of the resurrection, which ironically was the one thing I never believed in. After loads of research in vain I ended up stumbling across this channel and this video. I am lost for words. The way you explain everything with genuine reasoning and logic instead of blind faith is like a breath of fresh air. Its an extremely sophisticated and compelling argument, and one that I'd find difficult for anyone to refute. I have to admit, my eyes and heart feel a lot more open after this. Thank you so much for this incredible educational breakdown ❤️

The narrator doesn't seem to understand that the synoptic gospels are not independent witnesses of each other. He cites their similarities as proof that the post-resurrection visions couldn't have been made up.
His entire section on mass-hallucinations relies on cherry-picking studies and grossly misapplying them to the resurrection narrative. This is not what historians do.
He claims there is no evidence of a belief in suffering messiahs in second temple Judaism. See Michael Wise’s The First Messiah: Investigating the Savior Before Christ and Israel Knohl’s The Messiah Before Jesus: The Suffering Servant of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Some of his apologetic citations work against him. He quotes David deSilva: “The message about this Christ was incompatible with the most deeply rooted religious ideology of the Gentile world, as well as the more recent message propagated in Roman imperial ideology.” Of course it was incompatible with traditional Roman beliefs! Christianity initially flourished amongst slaves, women, and those oppressed by the Roman empire. This incompatibility was a feature, not a bug-of Christianity. See Ehrmans latest, The Triumph of Christianity: How a Forbidden Religion Swept the World.
He claims that Mormons had to flee urban centers in order to flourish-because urban critics would have demolished their religious claims. Not so for Christians who purposefully moved to Rome, the belly of the beast. This fact, the videomaker implies, is proof that the truth-claims of Christianity could not be refuted by the best minds of the ancient world. Reaching to the Nth degree here.
The empty tomb narrative is a common motif of the greek world for people who have been exalted and deified. Secondly we have good reason to believe that Jesus wouldn't even be afforded an expensive tomb, the empty tomb narrative only comes from Mark and it might be a story created to tie Jesus to Isaiah 53
"He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,"
Jesus was originally assigned to be in a grave with the men like next to him( the thiefs) but in the end he layed with the rich in his death( expensive rock cut tomb).
The issue stands see the qoute by Dale Alision
" I recall Donald Rumsfeld’s oft-discussed remark, that there are not only known knowns and known unknowns but also unknown unknowns. Our patchy, threadbare sources represent only one point of view. How do we know that, if we had a first-hand account from Joseph of Arimathea or some other member of the Sanhedrin, or entries from the diary of Peter or of James, there would be no jaw-dropping surprises? This is not a vacuous “what if” question. If one looks inside the front cover of the Book of Mormon, at the signed testimony of the three witnesses, and at the signed testimony of the eight witnesses, it all seems, on its face, highly evidential-until one reads some non-Mormon sources. We have nothing comparable for Christian origins. First Corinthians 15:3-8 and the rest are the verbal vestiges of a series of complex historical episodes to which we have no direct access. We can only wonder what the faithful omitted by oversight and forgot by choice.29 Ninety-nine percent of what happened in the first few weeks after Easter has fallen into the black hole of history, vanishing forever from the known universe. When there are too many unknowns, one cannot solve an equation; and if, from a jigsaw puzzle of five hundred pieces, only thirty survive, we may be unable to ascertain the original picture. It is the same with Jesus’ resurrection. No single hypothesis best explains the likely facts because those facts are too few and too thin, so that too much of crucial importance remains unknown. History supplies us with limited building materials, and we cannot finish the building. This is why the apologists have failed to dispatch every skeptical scenario without hope of recovery. Too often, as with the appearance to James, we are in uncharted territory."

@@unsightedmetal6857 The issue stands is we do not have much information that contain to what happened, the gospels are written decades after by unknown authors. Nor do we have information by non Christian sources, Imagine how strong of an argument mormonism could be if we only had their books and claims and no outside sources. Imagine the comeplling case of the eight signed witness testiomonies that swore they saw the angel hand the gold plates to Joseph. Some even continued to profress that all the way to their deathbeds even after leaving the mormon church. Here is a much much much much more probable explanation
"Reburial: Between Jesus’ burial on Friday afternoon and the discovery of the empty tomb on Sunday morning, Jesus’ body was removed from the tomb and subsequently reburied. Exactly why is a secondary matter, but in my view the most likely explanation is that Joseph of Arimathea himself wished to remove Jesus’ corpse from his family tomb.
Individual Hallucinations: Following the discovery of the empty tomb, and exacerbated by grief, emotional excitement, one or more of Jesus’ followers experienced individual hallucinations of the risen Jesus (the most likely candidates are Mary and Peter, though that is not essential to the argument).
Group Religious Experiences: These followers then discussed their experiences with the disciples, generating an expectation that they might experience something similar. Partly as a result of this expectancy, and also mediated by social reinforcement, strong emotions, sensory distortions, and environmental influences, the early disciples had several collective religious experiences of the risen Jesus. These experiences were social in nature and so not purely psychological hallucinations, but were delusory in the sense that they did not involve the disciples actually seeing a physically resurrected Jesus. These sorts of group experiences of strange phenomena have been documented many times, for instance Marian apparitions, certain UFO sightings, miracles in other religious traditions, and instances of mass hysteria. I will give more specific examples later on in this chapter.
Memory and Cognitive Biases: In the process of discussing these experiences among themselves afterwards, the disciples' memories of what they experienced were reshaped through processes of reconstructive recall and social memory contagion in the direction of increased coherence between individual accounts, and also greater impressiveness of the experiences. In the process, a 'standard version' of these experiences began to develop. Cognitive dissonance, confirmation bias, selective perception, and other similar biases combined to reduce any inconsistencies or discrepancies in the accounts or memories. All of these phenomena have been well documented by psychologists and sociologists, and some of the evidence for them I will discuss in more detail later.
Socialisation and Marginalisation of Doubt: Public expressions of doubt, disagreement, and scepticism were further muted because few disbelievers cared enough about Christianity to engage much with early Christians or disprove their claims, and most of those exposed to these claims had neither the inclination nor the ability to check them for themselves"

When you're a Believer you hear exactly what you want to hear to confirm your own beliefs. People need to learn how to think more clearly. Allow me to summarise the actual facts about 1st century accounts of Jesus.......
1 - There is known to be precicely zero mentions of Jesus as a historical Character until at least 40 years after his death.
2 - with the exception of testimonium flavianum- josephus) Every single mention we have from non-biblical sources essentially amount to a reporting of the existence of a group of people (Christians) who believe in a Christ.
3 - The very best non-biblical account of anything to do with stories from the Bible was from josephus, the so called testimonium flavianum.... this is universally accepted to have been interpolated (in case you don't understand, that means fabricated) by Christians.
Seriously.... this is compelling to you? Just think about it for a minute.... if you didn't start from the position that the stories in the Bible were true, there is no way on earth that this flimsy evidence would convince anyone that Jesus even existed.
I don't understand how this is not obvious.... if anything at all from the Bible happened to be true then we would expect, just like the early Christians did..... we should have expected there to have been contemporary writings from non Christian sources......
The early Christians couldn't find any such records so....... they fabricated some. So make of it what you will but to me it looks like the forefathers of your religion are liars!

@@ajbowley2725 Funny you should mention this, because Bart Ehrman, who's literally the most famous person defending the belief that the Bible is not reliable, actually holds that Jesus in fact DID exist. So the biggest authority that claims that Bible is false is saying that He existed (which I think is the first point that needs to be established so that's why I'm only addressing that). You could hear this from him - "Bart Ehrman & Robert Price Debate - Did Jesus Exist" on his channel, starting at time 8:17, but I'll leave short transcript regarding this so that I could support my answer: "I myself am not a believer in Jesus. But I do believe in history and I believe that it's important to know what actually happened in the past, even if we'd prefer that something else had happened... Whatever else you wanted to say about Jesus of Nazareth I think you can say that he certainly existed..." So, we can argue about different topics, but the mere existence is something that is established even by non-Christians.

Actually, I do have a few questions. So we can have a productive discussion, I will start with the assumption that the resurrection is true. This implies a greater power that is out of our reach. Jesus says this higher power to be the Christian God. This does not imply that this higher power is deserving of worship and does not imply this higher power is all good.
To me, God appears to be evil. The primary example is God sending people to hell. It is very obvious to me that deeds in a finite life do not deserve infinite torture, no matter how horrid the deeds. After all, how can I enjoy heaven when my brothers and sisters on this planet are being tortured forever? 1 billion years later, and that same soul is still going through constant suffering.
Since hell is a central part of Christianity, this is a jarring and inexcusable departure from the benevolent God that Christians claim him to be. I am very much open to new ideas, but I have yet to find a good answer to this question

    • @InspiringPhilosophy
      @InspiringPhilosophy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +95

True, we use other arguments to infer God is all good. But we also need to remember Jesus said the resurrection would confirm what He taught as a sign. It is more probable we can trust His words after the act of love He gave us on the cross then demonstrated His power in the resurrection. The sacrifice on the cross does show immense love for us.
I am planning on doing a video on hell later this year, because God doesn't send people to hell, as the orthodo church says, "According to the saints, the “fire” that will consume sinners at the coming of the Kingdom of God is the same “fire” that will shine with splendor in the saints. It is the “fire” of God’s love; the “fire” of God Himself who is Love. “For our God is a consuming fire” (Heb 12.29) who “dwells in unapproachable light” (1 Tim 6.16). For those who love God and who love all creation in Him, the “consuming fire” of God will be radiant bliss and unspeakable delight. For those who do not love God, and who do not love at all, this same “consuming fire” will be the cause of their “weeping” and their “gnashing of teeth.”"
      oca.org/orthodoxy/the-orthodox-faith/spirituality/the-kingdom-of-heaven/heaven-and-hell
Hell is a freely chosen identity built on something else besides God. All that are in hell choose it and Jesus will get anyone out who call on Him (1 Peter 4:6).

    • @mrgames4people
      @mrgames4people 6 ปีที่แล้ว +21

Showing an act of love does not negate other words and acts which show the opposite. If all you say is true, that we can get out of hell afterward if we accept God's love, then that is great because it truly means we choose heaven or hell. It means eternal punishment is not a byproduct of ones belief in life.
However, other verses contradict this such as in John 3:18, "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God", and Mathew 25:41 - 46, which says those on his left will, "go into eternal punishment". I have read both in context, I just summarized for brevity.
These verses show that going to hell is dependent on belief in Jesus before death and that hell is an eternal punishment with no mention of escape. It can't be overlooked that the use of the word "eternal" and general context strongly implies a lack of escape. So, that is not an argument from silence.
P.S. I'm looking forward to that video regardless of where I stand at the time

    • @InspiringPhilosophy
      @InspiringPhilosophy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +76

Yes, hell is a choice, not a sentence. As CS Lewis said, "all that are in hell choose it, without that self-choice it wouldn't be hell." In the book, he talks about why hell is eternal for those who choose it. For those in hell, they have set their wills and let their pride control them. Wanye Grudem reminds us the Bible says the wages of sin is death, not that the wages of sin is eternal torment. Eternal torment happens when a soul in hell continues to remain unrepentant and sins in their pride unwilling to change. The eternity happens because the soul refuses to change. In Revelation, when souls are being sent to the lake of fire after judgment, they do not plead for mercy, it says they will be cursing God as they are condemned. Atheist activist Dan Barker has openly said if he dies and meets God he will curse him out and gladly enter hell. All that are in hell choose it and remain there for eternity because they would rather reign in hell than serve in heaven. People in hell remain there for the same sad reason many drug addicts never recover but choose to stay in their torment than seek help.

At the age of 26 an experience of God occurred. A dream from the night before was remembered and while doing some wood work I reflected on it. I was powerfully energized to the point that it seemed that I would leave my body and my mind was filled with Knowledge. I became physically weak and almost collapsed as my knees buckled while breathing was difficult. This occurred over a few seconds and definitely got my attention.
I knew nothing about the Christian religion and thought that this God must be the one who this church acknowledges.
I began to read my wife's pocket sized Bible and over time many verses jumped out as true to the experience.
My testimony shared would say that the mind can be changed almost instantly to knowing God, not by an intellectual exercise which needs some genius of the comprehension of scriptures. But by being drawn beyond the mind where thoughts usually come from.

Even if you take Paul's vision out of it - it has more grounds for being a hallucination than the other eye witness accounts because his companions only PARTIALLY witnessed it - you need to consider that a minimum of 11 people and a maximum of 500 all had the same "hallucinations" at the same time. All 11 of the disciples saw Jesus at the same time and in the same room, including Doubting Thomas. Maybe that could happen to 2 people. Perhaps even 3 if they're REALLY crazy. Looking at the comments, it seems like most of the criticisms of this video center on dispute over what qualifies as evidence. I guess people expect something more concrete than logical deduction from given premises. I think this is a well-composed argument, though. It's laid on a bit thick at points, and I feel like there could probably have been more intensive analysis of the competing claims, but overall it is coherent and fairly thorough.
Of course, it won't convince someone who takes for granted the naturalistic world-view so popular in modern society, presupposing there to be no possibility for the supernatural, nor someone who disbelieves all biblical sources as so much lies and moonshine. To me it seems perfectly logical to take into account the motives of the involved parties, and in that regard conspiracy is unlikely (not impossible, but improbable), and given the other material as you present it, your arguments seem mostly sound.
But still, there will be people who view theism--and Christianity in particular with contempt. I can understand people choosing to become atheists on philosophical grounds--even if I don't agree with it--but the kind of militant atheism that sustains and affirms itself by belittling all other viewpoints honestly strikes me as kind of pathetic.

@Kuffar Legion Just because people didn't write about an event does not mean the event did not happen. Would you say that the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius was a major event in history? Pompeii was a city populated by many wealthy men of importance. How many written accounts of that event do you think there are? One. And it wasn't even meant as a historical record, it's just a letter written by Pliny the Younger explaining why his uncle had died. Explain why would people who had no interest in believing in the divinity of- in their perspective- some self-proclaimed prophet from a backwater province give any attention to him, let alone write positively about him and affirming his miracles?

@Kuffar Legion I don't even know why you're bringing all that up. I'm not even affirming Jesus' divinity in this argument. I am questioning your logic that because secular authors do not recognise his miracles that that automatically means that those miracles did not happen. But if an author affirms those miracles then they would be considered Christian sources, would they not? This has nothing to do with prophecies.
      You are saying:
      1. Bring up examples of authors who affirm the divinity of Christ
      2. [The New Testament] Well because they affirm it, that means they are Christians, so of course they would affirm it!
      3. Those sources must be dismissed because they exhibit a Christian bias

I gotta take exception with the idea that "popular modern society" rejects the supernatural. Spontaneous matter from nothing is a mainstay of "modern" Scientism (Big Bang Theory). Life from non-life, Dark Matter, Dark Energy, belief in other life in the universe while rejecting the possibility of the divine. All these are modern societal dogmas, which are at least supernatural if not miraculous. None of these have ever been demonstrated, yet your tax dollars go to researching and teaching all of these fantasies.

+InspiringPhilosophy Just responding to your latest video. At 11:13 you speak about the event at Fatima which took place in October of 1917 in Portugal. This miracle was given in advance by Our Lady as proof that the messages the children were giving to the people were true.
In the Catholic church its known as the miracle of the sun. There's way too much about the event to go into great detail here. What I wanted to bring up is the fact that it really happened.
I know our Protestant brothers might not know what to think about such things. This miracle has the full support of the Catholic Church something that takes years to get from the Church's top Theogions. The Mother of God is even honored under this title.
Given the large nature of the crowd (close to 100.000) not everyone will agree on every point. There was no mass hysteria from the children, they were like the crowd not knowing the nature of what God had planned for that day. At one point the children's parents were scared for their safety. Our Lady came to warn us of the danger our sins, not to pull the worlds greatest Halloween trick! I hope your not just reading Wikipedia for Catholics beliefs. I know your just making a point about group hallucinations and the Resurrection of Christ, but this isn't the same. The Gospels come from God no way around that.

***** Well I suggest to you to investigate these facts further if you doubt them. Bart Ehrman might be worth checking out. He is a secular scholar and skeptic who agrees on all these facts.
About the empty tomb, we know from Jewish tradition that it was their custom to bury their dead in a tomb or grave. Josephus wrote about this, if I'm not mistaken.
Also the way the gospels describe the discovery of the tomb by the women followers fits the criteria of embarrassment. For the testimony of women was pretty worthless back then. If the gospels were simply made up stories then surely the writers would not have chosen women followers to be the ones who discovered the empty tomb.
Furthermore if you think about this logically, why did the disciples testify to the risen Jesus? There must be an explanation, right?
Either they are master deceivers and they stole the body themselves, and went on to die proclaiming a lie, deceiving millions, or they actually discovered the tomb empty and were convinced they witnessed a postmortem appearance of Jesus. The latter makes a lot more sense. How else would you explain the rapid spread of Christianity throughout the ancient world?
We know from Tacitus, Roman historian in the early 2nd century, that Christianity had even spread to Rome by AD 60 for example.

I am a Crusader At the end of the day the fact remains that there is no accepted historical evidence available for the resurrection of Jesus as the proposed claim, that Jesus ressurected from the dead, is a supernatural one. Historians do not entertain supernatural claims by definition...not as historians anyway. The ancient world is filled with supernatural claims everywhere. Historians do not even look twice at these claims as they know there could be no sufficient literary evidence to support such an extraordinary claim. So it's not that they believe the ressurection did not happen. They are simply agnostic about the claim when looking into it as historians. The phrase "historical evidence for the ressurection of Jesus" is non-sensical from an academic perspective.

      Yes i do.
Nice job attempting to deflect, which is what illogical people do when they don't actually have an argument against what was actually said but want to think they're smart anyway.
Mass hallucination is not a scientifically valid argument, neither is calling it hallucination when appearing multiple times and speaking and eating with the disciples over a 40 day period.
That's my point. Can you refute that ?
No, you can't, because it is true that mass hallucination is not a scientifically valid phenomenon.
As far as the saints being resurrected and being seen by many. I can neither prove nor disprove that, and neither can you.

    • @justincase1919
      @justincase1919 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @demi- dogg
First off, the last statement was incredibly stupid.
" appears to many to be true " is not in any way the same as " appears to many " as in, many people saw it.
No, mass hallucinatiin is not valid and your statement about fatima is a circular argument. You assume fatima isn't true, therefore all those people must have hallucinated what they claimed to see. This proves that nothing would be good enough for you to believe.
If all the suposedly literate people of " Rome" ( it happened in Jerusalem by the way ) had written about the saints being ressurected, you'd still say it was mass hallucination.
      Again... you're deflecting.
The Apostles, EYEWITNESSES to the events, wrote of them, and to say they were hallucinating is simply not a valid argument.
They saw it, they DID write about it. They were persecuted for it and yet would not stop preaching it.
      Yet you won't believe.
I don't believe you ate yesterday. You hallucinated it and i don't care how many people saw you eat it, they must've hallucinated it too.
See how stupid that argument is ?
You atheists think you're so smart, but you're full of logical fallacies.
By the way, you act as if the resurrected saints had a parade through Jerusalem. They went home to their families, just like you and i would've done.
And... they weren't " zombies ", they were resurrected. Your ridiculing is just another thing that shows you have no real argument.

    • @justincase1919
      @justincase1919 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @demi- dogg
Face it. You're illogical and hard headed. You keep deflecting because you can't refute what i said in my original post.
There is no such thing as mass hallucination. Pick up a psychology book and use some common sense.
Multiple people do not hallucinate the same thing. That's an irrefutable fact.
      Stop deflecting and start thinking.
Im not going to go off on the tangents you are attempting to lead me down because you can't refute what i am saying.
Your tangents are also strawman arguments. I don't believe most of what you are speaking of because neither Yahshua, Nor Paul, nor the disciples taught what you are saying.
If you want to argue with someone who doesn't believe in changing and following the commandments and doing good works , ( following the torah ) then you'd be right to do so, but i haven't said anything like that ( neither did Paul, by the way ).
Go argue with them, if you want, but i haven't said anything like that and it has nothing to do with what i did say. It's both a strawwman and an irrelevant argument. It has nothing to do with my original post or anything that I've said.
As i have said, it's deflecting because you have no argument for what I've actually stated.
As i said, you're full of logical fallacies. In this case, arguing against things i haven't said.
As for the rest... all of that is a whole list of other arguments and they are tangential to what I've said here and too many and too involved to get into.
It's typical for someone who hasn't got an actual argument for what is being debated to " dump " a whole list of things irrelevant to the current discussion, making it impossible to refute them all in one sitting and thereby thinking they've " won " the argument.
You haven't won anything when you go off on tangents, you've only deflected from the original topic.
It would take forever to refute this list of other misconceptions that you have and you wouldn't listen anyway.
Also, as hard headed and illogical as you are, trying to debate these tangential subjects with you would only lead to other tangential subjects that you would bring up, which would lead to more tangential arguments and so on and so on.
You would never listen to anything because you're not logical or open minded. When you can't refute something, you simply deflect to something else that has nothing to do with it.
It isn't my job to convince you of anything, which isn't possible anyway.
      You'll find out eventually.

    • @justincase1919
      @justincase1919 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @demi- dogg
Lol ! Well at least you stuck to the topic this time. However, mass delusion and mass hysteria is not the same thing as mass hallucination. Just because you googled something doesn't mean it exists or that you even understood what you read.
      Think about it, seriously.
How can multiple people hallucinate the same thing at the same time ? It can't happen, but you, of course will still believe that it can, because you have the mass delusion of atheism.
Do you see how that works ?
I can say you're delusional too, because it's a circular argument with no substance.
Just because what you googled says faith or belief in God is an example of delusion, doesn't make it so, that's a circular argument.
Btw, faith can mean several things. Biblically, it means trust and confidence in God. That's only delusional to those who don't believe God exists. Again... that's circular.
Belief in traditional beliefs or believing something without proof is not what faith is although certain people think that way. The Bible actually says " prove all things ".
What we are talking about is people seeing a man die, then seeing him alive and well, touching him, having conversations with him, and eating with him.
This is not something explainable by mass hysteria or mass delusion. It's specific and detailed involving multiple senses.
It is entirely different than seeing something in the sky and not knowing what it is, then everyone getting together and discussing it and filling in details, etc.
It's also very different from mass hypnosis.
      You're grasping at straws.
Even if mass hallucinations could happen ( which they can't ), just saying the apostels hallucinated what they saw proves nothing. You don't know at all that they hallucinated anything.
If you actually read psychology books, you will find the idea of mass hallucination being proposed, but disproven or at least unproven.
If you want to believe people can all hallucinate the same thing, go ahead, but im a lil too scientific in my methods to believe that delusion.
Oops, i spoke too soon, you dumped a load of bull again, not sticking to the topic.
No, i didn't think this is all about me.
I haven't given you any " fuel " , i simply asked you to stick to the topic and be logical, but you go on and on, exposing your illogic. Go ahead, keep talking and showing the " kids " how illogical you are.
It only helps me, but im quite tired of this " conversation ".
I think we've both said enough that logical people will actually see who made the more logical argument.
It would be nice if you were more reasonable and logical, instead of an obviously militant atheist, but " debates " such as these rarely convince the actual debators of anything. I don't expect you to change your mind, but others who read our little discourse will be able to see who was logically fallacious and who was not.
      Have a nice life.
      Ps...
I have no idea what RCC is or who this Comma person might be, by the way... just sayin...
Again... i don't believe in going to " happyland ". You have this habit of arguing against things i haven't said.
You actually have no clue what the bible says. You're arguing against things that are commonly taught, not things the bible actually says or things ive said.
Having said that, even if i believed in going to " happy land ", simply ridiculing that doesn't disprove the bible or even the notion of going to heaven. You also keep making circular arguments.
You highlighted " firm belief in something for which there is no proof ", obviously believing that belief in God fits that
That's a circular argument, especially considering the fact that you're commenting on a video discussing proof of the ressurection.
      Lol ! 🤣😂🤣😂
Keep talking , your illogic is glaringly evident with each post you make.
Do it for the kids! 😆👍

Plus anyone can use a plural deity to describe a binitarian godhead which is only 2, so what's a trinity?
Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has man concieved what God has prepared for those who love Him.

Prince T and how much effort did you put into it? Were you consistent? Or did you have a few accidents happen then prayed for help and nothing happened? You can’t build a relationship with Jesus overnight or by attempting it a few times over the years, just like how you can’t get abs if you workout once every week, but eat junk food the rest of the week. You gotta dedicate yourself to Jesus and read the Bible and try and live by His word. And it will take time, but eventually, in God’s will, you will feel His presence.

Bruh idk idk what you mean by effort I can’t put effort into praying. I mean praying to Jesus or god is the same things
      as praying to the joker.

One of the best videos on The Resurrection! Great job IP! If you dont mind hearing suggestions of improvement, to next time: Dont talk so fast, give us a second when you throw out an argument so that we can agree uppon your conclusion without having to pause the video to think for our self what you just said!
Second: Dont change topics so fast, i forget the subject often because there is lack of short transition between the topics (many places, not all).
Last suggestion: You could've easly split this video into 4-7 small videoes. I have the feeling that the reason this video havent gotten more views yet is because of the length. I could be mistaken! (But large view count is not necessarily the most important thing)
Else I want to say great research! Great covering of the topic! Great arguments! Great use of images and models! Great language! Well done!

@inspiringphilosophy you have done so well in supporting your case for the resurrection that i have now more than enough evidence that jesus did infact rise from the dead. This has made me more interested in apologetics. You are a role model to me and i want to become as good of a apologist as you.I am 14 and i have a long way to go but you definitely have helped me.thank you and keep up your amazing work to defend our lord and savior jesus 👍🏻🙏🏻👏

i’d gladly accept all your thoughts and claims but where do you get most of your sources from?like early christians paying paul for resurrection and most of your claims are not even from the bible itself and it is absolutely certain that jesus died on the cross and very likely resurrected too because why would the decsciples bet their life on something that they know is fake amd paul certainly did not lie to the corinthians because he would be severely punished if he did.He was a very righteous person and he was going to become high priest why would he throw all of that away for something that is fake.eye witness testimony shows that the bible got it very right. As the desciples all didn’t say the same thing in the gospels and if they did that would be a lie obviously. The bible got even such small things like the currency at that time like for example joseph being sold to slavery for shekels.as ip said in the video it is also near impossible that all of them hallucinated jesus resurrecting. And the bible has also been proven to be a historical reliable source so it is also true what the gospels say

@Christian Slayer I dont want to respond to your whole post in one post. I would rather go one part at a time.
Later in 1 corinthians Paul said that there WAS a resurrection of the dead, because the dead can be resurrected and sent to Heaven because of Jesus. (1 Cor. 15:22)

IP, few things I would add. very impressed around the 10 minute mark, you mention Dodd and the semitisms in Acts. one thing to add, if I'm not correct the verse which has the best evidence for being early was the one which had Jesus eating and passing fish ect which is a huge blow for hallucination theorists. Another thing, Habermas had just very recently produced an article on clinical psychology and the different hallucination hypothesis on the Ressurection (focusing on bereavement visions, conversion experiences etc, which may help you out)

+InspiringPhilosophy www.garyhabermas.com/articles/articles.htm. I'm not sure if that link works because my phone is dodgy with those links. If not you can find it on Gary Habermas. com, on the home page in the 'recently added materials' table. Its called 'The Ressurection hypothesis: A clinical psychiatric review of the Eastern story'. Get back to me if you can't find it or found it useful!

@Christian Slayer He specifically points out, that the texts he's quoting are generally agreed by historians to be credible, listing historical criteria of embarrassment, multiple attestation and early attestation.
If you think historians throwout literally everything in the Bible because of it's religious status, then I have a bridge to sell to you

Two underlying facts 1:15. Jesus died by crucifixion just outside Jerusalem, and was buried in a nearby tomb
    Four Theories 2:52
    7 facts
H: 4:05. After Jesus died, his disciples said: He appeared to us alive.
E: 18:47. Expectations of the Gospel to the surrounding world.
L: 23:26. Low status of women in the ancient world.
I: 27:00. Immediate proclamation in Jerusalem.
V: 30:03. Voluntary suffering of disciples and witnesses.
    E: 33:49. Empty tomb.
S: 14:18. Skeptics reported Jesus appeared to them.
    Resurrection as Explanation: 41:31

@@11kravitzn Ok, my comment wasn't particularly directed at you, I just get fed up with this type of vid presenting their opinions as "facts" when they are usually just conjecture or contain a small amount of truth that is presented as though it's absolute word of their god. The Jesus of the bible I'm afraid didn't exist.
I've had many "discussions" with these types and not one has presented evidence to confirm his existence and they all, pretty well without exception go on to lie and insult me when all I've asked for is evidence.
