Step 1: press the button with three straight lines on the remote. Step 2: go to settings Step 3: device preferences, Step 4: picture, Step 5: Advanced video, Step 6: PC Mode (put right switch ON, you can already see the screen with black letters), Step 7: Reset to default (say No). This will get you the black letters on white background.
