I was on Helm's waiting list for 3 years for a couple of their watches before I completely lost interest. I finally did get notification for one of the 2 watches, but wasn't interested by that point.
So I’m not a huge proponent of homaging micro brands, but in this case, a four year waiting list is antiquated thinking. I think I know why Helm did what they did (do). When they first started, their watches were worth the wait, but now I don’t think the wait is worth it as much. Thanks for the great review!
Yea man, no trinket is worth a 4 year wait. That's just insane
I have put up my name to a helm Vanuatu last October, and the waiting list was coming at around 5400. Fast forward to June, it has reduced to 2210. It's lightning fast, compared to the wait time I was estimating when I signed up for it.
There are talks regarding the people at Helm scaled up their production, so it's not a 4 year wait anymore.
But since this watch resembles a Komodo rather than a Khuraburi, you can go ahead with the Cadisen. I feel the Komodo or Miyako lineup is not produced as much as the Khuraburi or Vanuatu models, hence the wait will be longer

@@TheWatcherReviews I actually own the Helm Komodo with white dial. It was my 1st microbrand watch and still one of my favorites. I plan to buy this exact Cadisen in the sale as a mod base, of course 😁. In fact, this watch may wear better as it is much thinner than the original Helm.
This looks pretty decent Cadisen could do a version 2 to iron out any small issues and improve logo and Lume

Nice review, I completely agree about the "Cadisen" text, a logo would look much better. I can't place the font used for "Cadisen", it looks very familiar and I do not like it. A rubber strap would improve it a lot.
Looks like the GUESS or CLINIQUE perfume logo font. They could have got away with it, if it didn't have the oversized C and the whole name was the same size font as the other markings. I still wouldn't like it though.
Sub-£50 at the moment btw - just picked one up. Was tempted on the orange but went with this blueish and white. Cheers for the review.
as said, it looks like HELM watch, awaiting to do the KHURABURI one.. it's amazing look with big hour marker and big hour hand which is my favorite point in any dive watch
This is the watch Helm should have made! I have the komodo in this color and almost never wear it because it is so thick. At 15 mm, it is just too thick for a 40 mm diver. I'm going to buy one of these.

I prefer the look and feel of a single width bracket. I also think there should be at least 4 micro adjustments. The name not lining up would bug me.
Just FYI - as confirmed by Cadisen, this watch has a ceramic bezel not brushed steel. 😊

This could've been such a nice watch if they didn't skimp on the lume. There's so much realestate there to make this a torch. It needs a little more attention to detail also. Great review Zee.

I bought the HELM when it it first came out a few years back…. I immediately sold it. I loved the look and quality, but is was THICK!! Sat like a puck on my wrist. I like this Cadisen a lot, and now it’s slimmer than the original Helm…. Perhaps it will be better on wrist.
I'm wearing my Komodo right now. While this does a reasonable job from a distance my advice would be to wait it out for the real deal. Not sure how long the current wait is but mine arrived last November after 2 years on the list.
Or, buy an Erebus Origin lol
And like Rolex, I'm not waiting two years for any watch. Helm could pump these watches out for everybody that is wanting to buy them, but I think they like to liken themselves to Rolex in the respect that they purposely make a wait to purchase for their customers.
Waiting years for something lifechanging is one thing. Waiting years for just a watch...in what world is that a good thing?

Absolutely worth the wait, Matt at Helm puts them all together, ISO tests them and sends them out. That why you wait!
Cloning a helm? For god sakes people just look for it second hand. It took me 2 months, the Komodo is elusive but does pop up.
The i should not align with 12 o'clock because the capital C is so big, otherwise it would be off-centered
I think it's strange you have to wait so long. I waited less than half a year for my Vanuatu, which I bought a year ago, and have had the opportunity to buy 2 other models after a year

It doesn’t take inspiration from Helm, it’s a 1:1 copy aside from it not being as thick. I own the real version of this watch and I wish it was as thick as this one is. The helm is a little thick, but not so thick that I don’t like it. I also wish the bracelet had a taper
It took for years for this homage. I hope another company may build a quality piece.
i like helm's philosophy and i dont mind homage watches but copying a small production microbrand feels a bit weird

I normally agree with this sentiment about homaging smaller microbrands, especially ones as affordable as Helm. However, since Helm has employed a wait list system to purchase, and these wait lists are years long, I think it’s okay in this case. The Helm brand owner has apparently decided that he does not want to expand operations to meet the demand, and he continues to be very successful doing so. So Cadisen is meeting some demand that cannot be met by the original brand. If Helm somehow was able and willing to meet demand, I would certainly always encourage everyone to purchase the original as most models like the Komodo, Khuraburi, etc are only $350-450 including shipping. Well worth the prices!! (I own the Komodo and love it, and almost bought the Khuraburi).
I have no issues with this, as the wait list is 5 years long. Normally, I would agree.

Could’nt the dial be modded to something less Helm like and fix the lume issue at the same time? What is the dial size? Guessing 29mm. More options with date at 3 ‘oclock

It's well worth the wait! Don't be concerned about the helm being to thick, it just isn't, mine is my daily and I love it!
I am fine with everything but the lume. That poor lume is a deal breaker or else I would buy a few. Already have a real Helm in route at this time so I'm not heartbroken about this.

i was on the helm waiting list for this exact watch for 2 years ,i was away on holiday for a week when i got my reply to buy from them ,you only get 48 hours to purchase the watch and i missed my slot ,after waiting 2 years for it and getting 48 hours to purchase i was rather angry and decided to give up on helm, thanks for showing this and i know the quality isn`t as good as the helm version but it is so much cheaper and i dont even need to think about this purchase, thanks for the upload and i`m looking forward to finally having this style watch in my collection.

@@S-Ltd1000 i paitently waited 2 years ! they should have a more understanding customer service and maybe give their customers more time lets say 4 weeks to complete the transaction ,i didn`t even want to contact them after waiting 2 years ,i`m done with helm !
They have a policy where you can jump to next month's draw, if funds aren't available at the time your number comes up.😉

Pity..I really like the look and proportions, but the lack of lume and bracelet taper are strong negatives..the bracelet can be swapped but such poor lume with such bold hand and indicies ruins it for me

I had this watch and for the price there is way better watch on ali. Ok hands are cool, the color and disign are original but there is too many cons : lume is almost nonexistent, only 2 micro adjustment on the bracelet, the bezel is garbage the action is too loose and turn itself... I returned it. There is way better dive watch on ali

Excellent review as ever. Thanks a lot. I wouldn't wait 5 years for a watch and this is a nice enough alternative. Shame about the lume from a dive perspective but at least with seeing the hands and the pip you can understand the time, unless the pip is in the wrong place! I think this watch would look great on a matching aquamarine rubber strap .

No problem. Just get both 😉. I own the Komodo White, and it is absolutely worth it! And I plan to buy this Cadisen as well . . . I love the Helm design, so I plan to use the Cadisen as a mod base. 😁
@@cecilyau4440 If you do get both let me know if the bracelets are interchangable, I wear my Komodo all the time and it's getting a little scratched up so this might do as a beater.

Homaging (copying) a micro brand???, Given Helms lengthy waiting list and the difference in price they will probably shift plenty of these as well. Now I know how genine Rolex owners feel lol. I was feeling quite put out but then I saw the lume and everything was good again, the lume on the Helm is fantastic the lume on this is pathetic.
This is so wrong in so many levels. Clone the products of large corporations not from micro brand. Things like this could put them out of business. Is that what we want? Get the genuine article, please.

You get what you pay for. This was a blatant copy of the Helm Komodo maybe minus the Luminous 12 o’ clock pip. Helm has homage influences but are not blatant shameless copies like this. This IS NOT an ISO 6425 Dive Rated Watch and not individually tested under the same Quality Control as Helm. This expert review came out recently, you get what you pay for:
“Here’s the Cadisen someone posted recently. I got it to see if it’s even close, and while i don’t have my Komodo anymore, I think I can make some good observations. I had suspicions it was made by the same factory, but I feel good saying it’s not. It’s no Helm. Buy the Helm.
The dial has a more metallic silver look. The bezel action is weak compared to the Helm. The bracelet is flimsy with push pins. The finishing between the links and lugs looks terrible. The lume on the hands is ok. The dial lume is terrible. The ceramic insert has a pip instead of a triangle. There no lume in the insert. The lugs aren’t drilled.
Inside is the biggest tell. The Komodo has double gaskets and a metal spacer. The Cadisen has a much thinner metal caseback and a cheap plastic movement spacer for the NH35. The caseback gasket is flat and actually on the caseback and not the watch mid case.
For the price I suppose it isn’t bad. It was just under $100 delivered. But it’s no Helm. It isn’t even close. If you like this look, buy the Helm.”
