Back in the 70s and 80s when road rallying was a popular motorsport, and before it became severely restricted, Millington Pasture was a very popular 'Selective'. Cars were timed from one end (Huggate) to the Millington hairpins. It is indeed a jewel in the Yorkshire Wolds.
Really great video! It's an area I know very well, but I learnt a few things from your summary. I will be going to Tom's Haymen on Yorkshire Day this year as a result, so thank you.
the scene coming out of the church just after 12:00 - wow - those hils, the frost, the mist - very picturesque.
This has been a favourite area of mine for many years.

Lovely episode Andy, it looked a real winter wonderland in the frost, good job you didn't get stuck on the icy single track down to the pasture :)
That's years of driving experience catching up with me ;)
Used to go sledding up Millington Wood as a nipper, now I tackle those hills on mi pushiron !!!
Quite steep some of them!
Millington its a gem in the Wolds looks like you visited on the coldest day of the year Andy.
I was colder in Nunburnholme. That hill fog was actually quite warm. It was weird!
Love these videos. I lived for 20 years in Fridaythorpe.
Glad you like them :D
Hope I don’t miss Fridaythorpe, Fimber etc. can’t wait.
