The shoes they use is called "Nunyang/Nanyang" shoes in thailand these shoes are very cheap 5-10$ in Thailand (today the price now goes up due to inflation). about 95% of grade school and highschool students wear them. The design of the shoe is perfect to play this sport the shoe is lightweight and the fabric they use is also tough enough to protect the broadside of your feet. And the rubber they use really stick to the ground, so you doesn't trip or falls over when your running or scoring.

I'm from Malaysia and I used to play as a killer (striker) at my early age (14-24). The roll spike was great but you'll get a knee pain as you aged. To get to this level, you need to spend a lot of time practicing and perfecting your skills and it can take around 6-12 month the least. Very satisfying as you spike the ball to the opponent with a clean strike.

I play this every evening. Positioned as the killer/spiker, doing both sunback spike & rollspike, however during rollspike my hand usually lands first before my leg because i cant jump that high plus i have big tummy haha. regarding the shoes, we usually go for Nanyang, Line 7, or Pallas Rejam. These are made specifically for this sport.looks more like a converse shoe if you havent seen one but with less shoelace winding. About the knee guard, i dont know about them but for me i wear those on both knees to prevent scratches. I even wear them on my left elbow because our poor court have rough surfaces

Yeah... Team US participated... But mostly their players are Southeast Asians... According to world cup rankings:
    1. Thailand
    2. Malaysia
    3. Philippines
    4. Indonesia
... Net height probably 5'1" to 5'4" and soon on... Me kinda one of the player in that sport... I was college varsity before... Playing locally but not internationally... But kinda perfome that feat before...doing cartwheeling and sunback... Yeah many filipinas do that sport... Thanks for reacting BTW.... ❤️
And to add up... The practiced was not predominated by Thailand and Malaysia in the History... We had our own since from colonial times.. Which locally known as "Sipa" means kicking or dribbling a ball and pass to another court in somewhat a lawn tennis decipline... And we growing playing "Takyan" a coin with feathers to excirsise... 😊

Most of the spectator amazed with acrobatic striker. But bear in mind the rest 2 player will be a game changer. How so? For tekong (player who makes service in service circle) will play such a big role in this game. He can collect as much of point through his service. And he also can receive the ball (from opponent service) and let the other player to do their job. The othe player will be feeder (player who floats the ball according to striker need) who can pace the game. He will feed the ball to striker low ball, high ball, close to net n bit far from net. All variety of ball can gift difficulty for opponent to do blocking. If you want to see action and spectacular game, watch Thailand games. But for technical n cheeky kind of games, Malaysian team is the best reference. Anyway welcome to watch the most action pack sport in this planet😉
