The song and MV have a very nostalgic feeling to them. :) Maybe the song is about K-pop idols became part of our life but people misunderstood us liking / loving them and the time will come we may also forget them. The boy is an actor in Korean dramas entitled "25 21" and "Weak Hero Class 1".
Heesoo is simply a newjeans fan, imagining the members as her friend along her steps falling in love with the boy. Her imagination strengthened her to be more brave to face her feeling for the boy. The woo woo woo part is literally bridging us through the reality into heesoo's imagination. That deer part was also signifying her to wake up and back to reality. When she garnered the strength, she came back into reality by dropping her safe memento, the camrecorder. It was also seen that she finally able to confess her feeling and get close with the boy. This whole MV is how us fans get strength by listening to idols and have a delulu moment.. Eventually they're not there in person just in spirit.
The sixth girl is Park Jiho, the female lead from "All of us are dead"!

One popular theory is that the whole video is a coming-of-age story. To be specific, it's about a relationship between a k-pop group and their fans.
The protagonist symbolizes the fans. Her name is "Ban Heesoo" which is a play of words of "Bunnies" (the name of NewJeans fandom.)
NewJeans used to be a big part of her life. Actually, she was addicted to them to the point where her classmates thought she's weird.
However, as she grew older, she found "more important" things in life. (Scenes such as choosing the boy over NewJeans, ignoring phone calls from Minji etc. I believe the deer represents NewJeans.)
NewJeans became one of her childhood memories and all those memories are inside a small dusty box.
Revisiting the past brings back the joy of the good times.
"This is how I thought about this MV. New Jeans and Heesu were a group of friends in the past. As you can see Heesu is wearing a cast on her left arm, they got a car accident and only Heesu could survive so she is seeing hallucination of her friends(New Jeans). If you look close into what one of the member scribbles on her cast, it says '죽지마' which means 'don't die'. The boy in the MV might be worried of Heesu talking and filming sth that deosn't exist. I believe they used a deer to metaphor for Heesu herself being left alone from a group (Deers are social animals and live in groups)."

Here's just my theory: This Heesoo is Newjeans' friend who survived a car accident; that's why her arm was broken; she felt too much guilt over her friend's death, so she was depressed and a little crazy. When she saw the deer, it was a sign that her friends in the afterlife wanted Heesoo to be cheerful again and forget about her guilt; that's when she decided to break her camera. At the beginning of side A and the end of side B video, Heesoo is seen wearing white clothes, indicating that she is an adult version of Heesoo, whose hand has healed, and wants to see her old video with Newjeans when she was in school.

I think whatever is VCR image are real (memories), and what’s not in film quality are hallucinations (New Jeans members as ghosts)… But the story is very open ended I feel. I also see it being about fans and idols having an imaginary friendship or something along the lines. Amazing MV…
The girl who was filming is called “Heesoo” and her last name was “Ban” so her full name is “Ban Heesoo(we call someone’s last name first)” and it actually means “Barneys” which is the name of New Jeans fan club. This music video is all about the relationship bet. New Jeans ans fans. Remind this and watch MV again and you’ll see everything :-)

The words NJ wrote on Heesoo's arm cast are "don't die".
Here is my views: that girl is lonely at school, she only have friends in her imagination( like the movie 《a beautiful mind 》），she like record behind them, that boy is real, he pull her back to reality, so her friend gone.
Side b is about after so many years passed , the girl back to her old house and see the video again, then her friends from imagination come back.
❄ The first part of MV side A we see from the perspective of Heesoo (Jihu). In Heesoo's eyes, NewJeans are best friends and she always holds a cam to capture NewJeans' moments.
❄ However, at the end of the MV, we are seen from the perspective of other classmates. What Heesoo saw was not real. When the MV ended, there was a segment where Minji suddenly smeared the legs (lower body) of the drawing. Hypothetically, ghosts will not have legs so Minji's smearing could be a sign that NewJeans is not real
❄ In the MV side B, Heesoo played the old tape again to review the footage she had taken and recall the happy memories with NewJeans.

1 is that Heesoo has no friends so she imagined NewJeans to be her friend

“I have a theory, the camera girl went in a deep depression till the point she’s still in denial and kept lying to herself, which led to her to completely lose her sense of reality cuz she lost her friends (New Jeans) in an accident, that’s why she has the arm cast. Everybody is kinda concerned about her, but they don’t want to take proper action cuz, as I know, Koreans don’t like to interfere in other people’s problems and the only person who really wants to reach out to her is the guy, that maybe has liked her even before the accident so that’s why he keeps looking for her in a way from afar. And the new video tapes she first saw in the Side A MV kept showing her the reality she’s in, so that’s why she threw the camera in the Side B MV where everything started to make sense. AND the last video she saw was the original one where her friends (New Jeans) DID appear and is stored in a box cuz it’s a part of her treasured memories and now she can see it with nostalgia cuz she came to accept her loss and is capable to move on, that’s why she is seen walking with the guy at the end as he maybe helped her getting through all of the grief and denial. The deer can represent two things a non-confrontational personality (side A) that happens to be her looking at herself in the white scenario or could be an observational, empathetic, and sympathetic side of someone who could represent the guy (Side B) that's why it appeared in the school where he is always watching her with concern.

No no one is ghost here. The girl is a fan of new jeans. We all have a band or artist you were obsessed when you were in school. Their music always been their for you when you were happy and sad. Your friends or classmate while look at you funny being obsessed with idol band. But they make you happy. You eventually find bf on the way and grow up but they will always be there in your memories.
