Hi Tara. I noticed that this foundation works best for me using my fingers. I tried a beauty blender, a brush and it did not work. But now I apply it only with fingers and it looks very nice. Hugs and kisses from Paris
YAY👏👏👏 What an honor to work with such a beautiful person like Lisa and thank you for sharing your talent with all of us❤❤❤ I'm honored that you stopped by and introduced yourself 👏 Thank you so so much. You said it, they're truly a must have👏👏
I feel like so many influencers are using very kid gloves reviewing this foundation because no one wants to give anything from Lisa a bad review because they love her so much. I feel like that is almost anyone else came out with this foundation, it would be considered a fail for a lot of reviewers. I watch content from all different ages and skin types and almost all have had to "work" with this foundation quite a bit.
I agree with, the foundation is definitely "finicky", I can't just apply it and be done. I have to hydrate and moisturise (Bobbi Brown works great) really, really well - almost too much! But the shade 16 is absolutely perfect for me, so I'll continue to use it. I do wish that Lisa had brought out 2 types of this foundation - one for oily/combination skin and one for dry skin. Trying to make a "one size fits all" can't possibly work, we have very different needs. Because of my "crinkly" eyelids, I won't be buying any of the Liquid Lurex shadows ..... but I think they look beautiful 😍 Love you lots and lots and lots ☃️🎅☃️❣❣❣☃️🎅☃️❣❣❣☃️🎅☃️
I can't wait for my shadow!!!! I got the same bronze color. I have been waiting not so patiently for it. Ordered it as soon as it went live, where is it!!???😂😂
I had the same issue with the foundation but started using Westman Ateliers highlighter stick in nectar under the foundation and it worked beautifully. I actually received compliments on my complexion, which has never happened before.
@@mishka0846 I don't love that as a Highlighter so it sits in my collection without being used. I didn't think about using it as a base. I would love to find a way to use it so it doesn't go to waste so I'm totally trying that. Thank you again for the tip👏👏👏❤❤❤
Hello, I really love this foundation I am oily on my T zone and this self setting foundation is amazing for me I do powder it but I do not have to retouch as much throughout the day. Also, I was able to find my perfect shade thanks to her foundation cards
Love this video!! Love that despite the fact that this foundation was drying on your skin, how you still are so supportive & complimenting Lisa Eldridge! That is how it’s done right! Thanks for your take on things, Tara, and happy 2022 to you & your fam❣️❣️🎊🎊✨✨
I have combination oily skin and this works for me if I apply it with my fingers and go for light coverage…low medium at most. When I go for medium coverage or higher, it doesn’t look as skin like and it gets very oily on me quickly. I just don’t like it that way. But as a lighter coverage product it’s stunning on my skin.
I had the exact same problems with the foundation that you mentioned above Tara. I have combination skin and it was clinging to My dry spots and caking up in certain places. It also did not wear well for me which I was really surprised by. I love her lipsticks and her lip glasses so I was hoping I would really love her foundation but I don’t and it’s pretty expensive.
make sure your skin is cleaned and moisturized properly so the foundation glides on. it takes about 5 minutes to completely set so it's enough time to work with it. also, we might need different moisturizers for different parts of the face. gel moisturizer for the T zone and a richer for the dry areas. hope it helps!
I have more normal to combo skin and i live in the Caribbean so it’s not cold here. I have WAY too many foundations and I have found myself wanting to reach for this one over and over. I tried it with a sponge the last time and really liked how it went on. It’s definitely become a favourite!!!!
Exactly what I thought about the foundation!! I mean word for word! I will try it again when it's hot outside... What I also like about the liquid eyeshadow is the way the high shimmer didn't show once sheared into the crease! It looked like another matte shadow was used. That was amazing & makes it a true one & done shadow. Thanks for sharing! 🤍 Xo
The foundation prep for Seamless Foundation is key. I have dry skin. I am 47! I wear the Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base. I follow that with Futuredew from Glossier. It’s currently 28 degrees where I live and I have drive skin. The Seamless Foundation is one of my new favs.
Hi Tara, I have same problem , looks really dry on my skin , I went to her pop up in London , and am a bit disappointed 😔- will definitely try your tips , thanks x
Lisa Eldridge has so many amazing products that i hope to someday try out for myself. her lipsticks, glosses, liners, elevated glow highlighters, liquid blushes and now these eyeshadow products just look like a dream. you look absolutely beautiful. i love you. ♥️♥️♥️
I completely agree with you about the foundation. I can make it work, but takes a lot more effort. If I don’t get the amount right it settles into my fine lines or clings to dry patches. Shade match for me is excellent so I will continue to use. I hope she comes out with a formula that is easier to work with though, it’s definitely not a foundation I will reach for if I don’t have much time to get ready.
Oh yes!!! I just got my order yesterday and tried the shade Bianca today. It is GORGEOUS!!! 🤩💖👍🥰 Wet Glas-skin looking with sparkles reflects. I also bought the shades Anjelica and Lauren, and now I am considering buying the DIANA and Liza too just because it is so easy to work with and the look one can achieve is so elegant 😍 Diana looks sooo flattering on your beautiful eyes 🤩🙆❤️
I absolutely love her foundation, it has become my favorite. And you sold me on these liquid shadows. After seeing your look on Instagram with it, I was sold.
I've heard a lot of ppl say that the amount of work it takes to get this foundation to "work" is a lot of steps. I'm kinda glad I skipped that one, it doesn't sound like it's for me. I don't like using my fingers. Thanks Tara! Appreciate your thoughts 🤗
I got the Lisa Eldridge foundation and I agree that it’s probably much easier to use an oily skin but Im able to make it work with the Bobbi Brown face base or the Victoria Beckham golden primer it does dry down fast but as long as I put something moisturizing underneath which I do with all my foundations actually I don’t use mattifying primers so it works for me and the color matches so good
Hi Tara, I think you are more in the majority (at least from what I have seen on You Tube over the past weekish with regards to the foundation). It seems to be an issue for so many of us ESPECIALLY around the chin area. I have not purchased it yet for this reason (although I did get the sample cards and thought it was okay, didn't love how it wore) and I really don't feel like dropping that kind of money on a full size especially when I absolutely ADORE the Beauty Blender Bounce Skin Tint that you have me hooked on at a fraction of the cost. I also absolutely love the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder so I don't NEED a foundation just because, ya know? I'd rather get something exciting like eye shadow sticks or fragrance where I feel my money is getting me something fun. I don't know, I think there's something that needs tweaking in her foundation formula? Everything else of hers I have absolutely LOVED!
I have dry mature skin and had the exact same experience as you with the foundation. I tried so many preps, different moisturizers and primers (most of them failed) but finally found that bobbi brown vitamin primer works best with this and the shade match is perfect. That said, I don’t think I will re-purchase this foundation once I am done with the bottle at hand because it is drying at the end of the day. I don’t want to have to take painstaking care on prepping/applying foundation and end up feeling dry when the day is up esp. with this price tag. I do admit it looks seamless and beautiful when prepped and applied properly AND within the first few hours when it hasn’t dried out my skin. If I were younger I probably would have loved this and gushed about it too. I appreciate your honest review because I was starting to think something was wrong with me😅
Thanks so much for all this infomation, dear Tara, this is such a good video again!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 I agree with other reactions of your subscribers here, a 2nd foundation for dry skin would also be nice than. I have dry skin as well, especially in winter, waited to purchase this, have still enough foundations open, but glad i waited, because, i don't know Tara, it's quite a circus making this foundation work with dry skin. I must say i did not buy anything from the brand, which i planned to do, but the eyeshadow is great, and when i would love lipsticks (i don't, only nude gloss here), i would have bought them already, i think will buy some eyeshadow and some gloss there in a shorter time, maybe still this year, foundation i wait. The Diana eyeshadow looks so beautiful on you wow!!!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 Thanks again, and have a wonderful day Tara!!!!😘😘😘😘
I had given up on the foundation…. Now I might mix it with some tinted moisturizers to see if it won’t get cakey on my face 😕 Thank you for your honesty.
I treat the foundation as if it is a serum foundation. I dot it in my face and rub in gently with my fingers. I then use a brush or sponge. I do this with all my foundations. Works every time.
I do the same thing! That’s how my mom showed me how to apply foundation. This is one of my favorite foundations and I have dry skin so really I just have to do my skin prep like usual which to some people might seem like a lot but that’s what my skin needs and then apply this foundation and my skin looks beautiful all day!
Wow, Tara - that colour on your eyes is UNBELIEVABLY flattering!! Your blue eyes look so beautiful! I guess that makes sense because orange is opposite blue on the colour wheel, and it’s there’s an orangey base to that ‘bronzey’ tone. I won’t be at all surprised if the Liquid Lurex shades are out of stock by weeks end 😊.
I so agree about the foundation. I tried it out and it looked like I had no makeup on (not in a good way). I felt bad returning it yet I would never use it again...
Thanks for the review Tara as always I trust your opinion. I do have the Lisa Eldridge Lipstick 💄 & I love 💕… Lisa foundation I have heard mixed reviews & I have dry skin so anything matte I just stay away from I can’t afford a drop of matte anything … Nonetheless; her liquid eyeshadows look beautiful & I saw Alicia from her channel Kinky Sweat review the blushes & they looked gorgeous … so I have to get the blushes & some cream eyeshadow from Lisa Eldridge.. Until your next review ! Hugs 🤗 & thanks for your honest , classy opinions as usual.
I'm thinking this foundation is a lot like CT Magic Foundation? I liked that if I used a tiny amount and blended with my fingers, with a good base underneath. I didn't buy it as I have other foundations I don't need to fuss with. Lisa is so lovely that everyone is treading lightly with their reviews.
Omg the Givenchy lipstick in brick has been my go-to for the past couple months!! I’m so glad you love it too. The formula is soooo plush and comfy, I’ve started collecting other colors!!
I had the same issues. I use magic cream, tatcha liquid silk primer over the pore areas and absolutely Hollywood flawless filter before the foundation. Now it’s absolutely amazing. I used these products anyway so it was not extra.
Did like this foundation on my dry skin, just want to use my regular skin products with a foundation. With this Case can see you need change up routine and add extra moisture. I hope she releases a dry skin formula. I really want to try the shadows.
@Tara I have to know how you did your hair in this video. I’ve been dying for beachy waves but I always end up looking like curly Sue. Please share! Also I just bought this foundation and besides the shade being too dark I absolutely loved it. I have a lighter shade on the way but thank you for the tips!!
I agree on the foundation Tara, and I am combo/oily. Luckily I got several swatch-cards along with my lipsticks haul so I got to try it out several times before it launched. I tried it without primer, with gripping primer, with hydrating primer, with and without powder, with fingers, sponge and brush. And I SO wanted to love it. But I just didnt. :-)
No way, My favorite primer is a moisturizer too! 😂 I am uploading a foundation routine video right now for oily dehydrated acne prone skin and literally use an Elf moisturizer daily. It makes my skin look so radiant without the grease. Loved this video! 🥰
Good morning Tara. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on this foundation but I was excited about yours because we have the same problem areas and enjoy the same foundations. What other foundation would you say this one is most similar to?
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that has struggled with the foundation. I had to do a shade exchange, but plan to try and mix it with an illuminator or my lilah b. oil because the dry down made me look dead. I don’t see it becoming top drawer unfortunately. I had similar issues as you Tara as well as those of people in the comments. The cream shadows look beautiful! I do wish there was a mid tone brown tho. I may have to try Angelica. It looks like it has enough depth to not wash me out.
I really like the foundation, but I completely agree, it's work! I find that it works best for me with the YSl Touche Eclat Blur primer, combined with the Taste pore reducing one around my nose. I don't get the dry patches, thanks to my oily bastard pores, and it generally stays all day which is a first for me and foundation. Most of the time though, I'm in a hurry, so I'll reach for something less fussy.
Hello Tara, I am almost 53, I have bone dry skin and I live in Canada where the heating in homes and the super cold weather outside further dehydrates despite the use of humidifiers. 🥶 I love this foundation! You are right however in saying it is a bit drying. Here is what I do, like you I mix a little bit of oil in my face cream, then I apply a very thin layer of her elevated glow all over (not on the under eye or lids of course) I let that set, then I apply the foundation with a flat brush, I stroke it on I don’t buff it or push it in. I do not powder. It is so unbelievably smooth and beautiful that way and lasts all day long. I walked through a snow fall with it, snow hitting my face and it was still perfect when I got home. Give it a try and let me know. I would be so proud if it made you love this foundation. 😜
I do the same: clarins double serum, than a nice layer of moisturizer… waiting 5’ eme and than a first thin layer of foundation on one cheek, than the second cheek.. and finally a mini dot of a second layer … using the angled blush brush from it cosmectics. This foundation needs softens in the application… and very thin layers. Very different from the common foundation. This foundation is a beautiful way to enhance the hydrating of my skin.
I got the foundation after trying the samples and trying a few different colors, for whatever reason, I didn’t love it until I hit on my exact right shade abs it looked beautiful all day while helping my brother move in the rain, I got wet in my face but didn’t touch it and it still looked perfect, I agree though if I have dry flakes it doesn’t sit well, so this is one I use on good skin days, I don’t always prep the same way and I need to remember what I used that day because it was perfect. I need these liquid shadows!! So beautiful
I just got 4 of them in the mail last night! I didn't get the orangey shade (Diana) because it isn't flattering on my skin tone. I can't wait to try them out today🤗
Just picked up that shadow!!! Girl!!! Half of My Beauty Collection of 2021 is : Tara Babs Garbage ! (Calm down to those that don’t realize “Garbage” is Beautiful Theresa) .. What a Beautiful Eye shadow!!! You made that color “pop” on those gorgeous blue eyes…. As always makes me have major FOMO … Gotta get it Now!!! Thank You Tara for your sweet soul & for making me break open my piggy bank 😇😂Love&light from California 💗💗
Love the foundation, I use my fingers and use the bb to finish. I passed in the liquid eyeshadow, as I have a few from TF and I rarely use them. They look beautiful thou.
Honestly I think everything looks way better with the hands and fingers really helps warm the skin and my cold fingers in the morning help tighten my pores and always turns out better when I do with my fingers it's like a poreless face and I do it with brushes or sponges you definitely see my pores and my fine lines
Gorgeous look! I bought all five and can’t wait to try them! I have never tried a liquid shadow before. I almost bought the Chanel gold one but it seemed to get mixed reviews. I would love to see a comparison with the Chanel vs LE liquid shadows.
Oy. I was in London and bought her foundation on a whim. I haven't used it yet (I'm waiting until I finish up what I have), but I hope I don't run into these issues as it was not a cheap foundation.
I watched some reviews with people with dry skin and they were not loving the foundation, having myself textured skin and dry skin, definitely a pass for my but the liquid eyeshadow, 3 colors are in my wish list, I have all her lipsticks so I know she can make wonderful products.
I bought mine today🥺😓 love you girl hope ur well I've been soo down as of late had to take time off you tube and socials but your videos cheer me up sooo much 💓💞💓
I’m having the same issues as you with the dry patches around my chin area, I’ve tried everything and just gave up, one should not have to work this hard to make a foundation work, Lisa Eldridge, I have loved her other products but this is a big fail, I’m really surprised she would think one foundation would work on all skin types, she should have made one for the mature dry skin gals like a radiant finish🥲🥲🥰
Gorgeous look Tara 🔥 Was literally just about to buy this foundation but might hold off now, (I hate when foundation sits on my chin!) what is your favourite foundation at the moment?
I’ve been waiting for reviews on this foundation now I’m debating on if I should pick it up!! As for the liquid eye there pretty but I have so many of these from other brands like Natasha denona and I completely forget to reach for them I never use them so those are a pass ! Love the look you did!
Can’t wait to get my hands on my lurex though painfully aware they last only 6 months and are in competition with all my palettes. 😱 The foundation sounds very hit and miss for many people and like others I love everything Lisa does and want to love it too - won’t mean it’s right for me so we will see. ❤️
I have combo skin dryer in winter and oilier in summer. This foundation looked awful on me. I was shocked because I rarely I have issues with foundation like I did with this. It separated around my mouth and didn't look right. I always moisturize underneath too. It's sadly a pass for me. I'm very grateful she offered sample cards to help people try it out first.
Tara, have you had any problems with oxidation with this foundation? I really have to prep my skin as well for it not to cling to dry spots. My fingers with 1/2 pump and that seems to be a sweet spot for me. If anyone else has problems with oxidation, please let me know. Thanks!
Hi I have had the exact problems you mentioned above. I’m sad to say I don’t really like this foundation. I don’t even have dry skin and it clings to dry spots
Tara loved your video, I have to say the foundation didn’t work for me it kinda accentuated dry spots hmm I love her lipsticks and lip liners though truly top notch! I don’t think I’ll get the eyeshadows they are very pretty though 💕
I wish I hadn’t bought this foundation. That is literally why I depend on you and others reviews prior to purchasing every new release. It is not at all what I expected from Lisa. I have now started mixing it with others to see if I can find a combination I like so it doesnt go to waste. It does look really pretty on you here though.
Angie/Hot and Flashy did a review of this foundation. She also struggled with it. I know she wanted to like it because it’s Lisa Eldridge. But she found it disappointing. I am happy with my foundation, so I watch the videos for this foundation just to see what people think. I wrote a comment to Angie letting her know that foundation is not right for everyone. I appreciate her honesty always. But it’s interesting to see that Tara had her issues with it. So Angie should know she’s not the only one.
I tried the foundation in many ways (brush, sponge, fingers) and I found that it works best when I am using my fingers. However, I need to moisturize A LOT and be really careful about what I put on my face afterwards with regard to products. It is too finicky and that is annoying. I also noticed that it broke me out on my forehead. Such a disappointment. I will keep on using it, but it sucks that I really cannot mix it with anything else and that I have to be extra cautious of what products to pair it with. So not worth it for that price tag :(
I didn't like the foundation for same reasons as you mentioned, it is too finicky, it breaks up and really, quite visibly sits on the face where it looks like bad makeup. I live in a humid climate and it performs so poorly here, and when I put on a mask, forget it, all of it is coming off, unlike tinted sunscreens. Wanted to lose but unfortunately don't, but still love the lipsticks and ordered some of the liquid eyeshadows - cannot wait for those
This foundation was a huge no for me. I was so disappointed with it & can honestly say its one of the worst foundations Ive ever tried - and that makes me sad to say because I love everything else Lisa Eldridge. Now I just live in hope she will bring out another foundation eventually that isnt anything like this one.
Hi Tara. I noticed that this foundation works best for me using my fingers. I tried a beauty blender, a brush and it did not work. But now I apply it only with fingers and it looks very nice. Hugs and kisses from Paris
100% agree with this.

I haven’t tried anything LE yet but I’m super interested now in the liquid shadows! Thanks for sharing!! ❤️
I do have the Lisa Eldridge Lipstick 💄 & I love 💕… Lisa foundation I have heard mixed reviews & I have dry skin so anything matte I just stay away from I can’t afford a drop of matte anything …
Nonetheless; her liquid eyeshadows look beautiful & I saw Alicia from her channel Kinky Sweat review the blushes & they looked gorgeous … so I have to get the blushes & some cream eyeshadow from Lisa Eldridge..
Thank you so much for the tip for makeup!! I’m Definitely going to try it
I find this foundation stunning. Best with fingers as per Lisa’s own recommendation. You need so little and it’s beautiful
WoWsA 🔥🔥🔥 these are gorgeous.. they look so comfortable as well. I can see so many application possiblities
Oh my! Those eyeshadows look stunning! I want to buy at least 1 to see how they work on me
No way, My favorite primer is a moisturizer too! 😂 I am uploading a foundation routine video right now for oily dehydrated acne prone skin and literally use an Elf moisturizer daily. It makes my skin look so radiant without the grease. Loved this video! 🥰
I love her foundation, but, like you said, it might be good in the summer time. Her lipstick, really love it.
Good morning Tara. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on this foundation but I was excited about yours because we have the same problem areas and enjoy the same foundations. What other foundation would you say this one is most similar to?
For me the Dior forever line.
Thank you Tara!
Thanks for your honest review. I've been on the fence about this one, but with my my dry, textured skin it sounds like I'll have to pass.
I love the gold one. I heard some of the other colours have a thinner formula.
Can you do a favorite foundation review for mature skin? Great review today!🙏
Omg the Givenchy lipstick is so flattering on you 💋
Oy. I was in London and bought her foundation on a whim. I haven't used it yet (I'm waiting until I finish up what I have), but I hope I don't run into these issues as it was not a cheap foundation.
Hi Tara, I’m wondering with how hard you have to work with the foundation, is it worth picking up?
Tara Lynn could you please tell me which said you would wear in MAC foundations. I too have medium olive skin - I think I am NC35 in Mac?
Ya, NC 35 is the closest shade. It is a little too warm for me, but it works😁
I watched some reviews with people with dry skin and they were not loving the foundation, having myself textured skin and dry skin, definitely a pass for my but the liquid eyeshadow, 3 colors are in my wish list, I have all her lipsticks so I know she can make wonderful products.
I adore the foundation and now need the eyeshadows! xo
Tara that shade looks like a million bucks on you. you sold me bc i just ordered Diana. It will be my first LE product! x
I bought mine today🥺😓 love you girl hope ur well I've been soo down as of late had to take time off you tube and socials but your videos cheer me up sooo much 💓💞💓
My dry skin could never lol well during the winter anyways 😄 the eyeshadow looks so gorgeous with your blue eyes 😍😍😍
I’m going to buy the eyeshadow thank you .
I wasn't going to get Diana color but you sold it ☺️
Excited !!!!
The foundation found dry skin I didn't know I had and sadly wasn't long lasting on me. I love Lisa though and glad it works well for lots of people.
Tara loved your video, I have to say the foundation didn’t work for me it kinda accentuated dry spots hmm I love her lipsticks and lip liners though truly top notch! I don’t think I’ll get the eyeshadows they are very pretty though 💕
I have very oily skin and I haaaaaaaated this foundation.
As always 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you
I wish I hadn’t bought this foundation.
It took so long to apply the foundation. Is this normal when applying foundation?
I tried the foundation in many ways (brush, sponge, fingers) and I found that it works best when I am using my fingers. However, I need to moisturize A LOT and be really careful about what I put on my face afterwards with regard to products. It is too finicky and that is annoying. I also noticed that it broke me out on my forehead. Such a disappointment. I will keep on using it, but it sucks that I really cannot mix it with anything else and that I have to be extra cautious of what products to pair it with. So not worth it for that price tag :(
I don’t think your the only one having a hard time with the foundation but I think influencers are scared to say anything bad against the product
I have the same issue with the foundation even if I put a good moisturizer and primer.
Amazing Skin!
I can’t wait until my lurex shadows arrive. I bought all of them😳. I am combination skin in NC and I don’t like the way the foundation wears.
I was curious how they compared to the chanel liquid eyeshadows but I guess you do not own them?
Thank you,it looks so nice, but patience is Needed.LE makeup is very beautyfull. But i do not have the patience whit my dry skin and texture.
Wanted to lose but unfortunately don't, but still love the lipsticks and ordered some of the liquid eyeshadows - cannot wait for those
I wish the eyeshadows had parabens in them because they only last 6 months:(
This foundation was a huge no for me. I was so disappointed with it & can honestly say its one of the worst foundations Ive ever tried - and that makes me sad to say because I love everything else Lisa Eldridge. Now I just live in hope she will bring out another foundation eventually that isnt anything like this one.
❤❤
