I watched soaps for about 40 years, and this was the best acted scene I ever saw. These two actors were magnificent individually, and together, they were the best.
Favorite scene of them EVER! Omg, Tony Geary is one of the greatest actors for a reason. In that simple moment where he turns to Robert, you see everything he's feeling in his expression. The tears of joy and happiness to see his best friend again, and then such pain and anger. 👌🏻♥️👌🏻 I love their friendship! Thank you so much for posting this!
Because soaps are largely about relationships and there are so many tight shots and close-ups, the ability to use one's face is key to soap acting. Many soap stars are great at it, but no one is better than TG. I agree that his facial expression when he sees Robert says it all. Both of these actors are incredible, and this scene is one of their best.
I love how the emotions change on Luke's face, from joy, then sadness, then anger. That takes a great actor to pull that off, and TG was up to it. I loved those two together, but this scene was heartwrenching. Wonderfully acted by two great actors!
Geary and Rogers were known for ad libbing. I wonder how much of this scene was ad libbed. They were so good together, and their bromance is one of the best story lines in soaps. I think this is the best soap scene ever.
When Luke was giving Robert hell about " taking my woman!", Robert should have reminded him about taking Laura away from Scotty Baldwin! It was the exact same type of situation!
THANK YOU!!! I was a big Robert & Holly fan from the beginning and still am. I was screaming at Luke the day this aired. He wanted them to go on with their lives, and they did. Robert married Holly because he loved Luke; it was only later that he loved her. I like Luke, but he's out of line here.
Well, and let's not forget that Luke in my eyes was never a real hero, as I recall he raped Laura. They only change the story to suit the fact that they wanted Anthony Gary to stay. The audience remembers otherwise.

In the 1960s, _Days of Our Lives_ had a story line in which Bill Horton got drunk and raped a woman whose name was also Laura. She was dating or married to his brother Micky. (I know Laura and Micky were married, but I can't remember whether they wed before the rape or after.) Laura went on to have Bill's son, Mike, and pass him off as Micky's for years. Everyone seems to forget that that happened on _Days_ almost 20 years before it happened on GH.
I understand why Luke was mad, but I never really saw Luke and Holly together, they weren't a match at all. That's just a fact. I never understood the mismatch. Holly and Robert, I get.
By the time this scene aired, I had fallen in love with Robert due to the R&H story line. I remember yelling at Luke when this aired. I loved Luke, of course. Who didn't? But I agreed with Robert. Luke created chaos for a lot of people and then shows up demanding explanations for what people felt they had to do to cope. Yeah, Robert, where DOES Luke get off here?
Good point, and VERY true. But Robert did it to protect Anna & Robin. Luke did it, as Robert says, to protect his own pride. I didn't blame Luke at the time and still don't. But I'm so glad Holly stayed with Robert. They were wonderful together, and Luke DID bring the whole thing on himself.

We knew TG was a great actor, but TR's acting skills were impeccable in this scene..more superior to TG's in this scene!

Yep, a great bromance! TR and TG did ad-lib a lot. They had great "bro" acting chemistry, and I think they had great fun working together!
Awesome acting. I love it when Robert tells Luke "I loved you." Anyone else and it'd sound corny.
Yes, and it would have led to questions about Robert's sexual preferences. But Rogers does it so beautifully that it never raised a peep from anyone.
