Wow, this video was absolutely phenomenal! Not only did you get a lot of really incredible footage but you explained the process in a very humorous way with the subtitles. Great achievement, I’m very proud of you! So proud in fact that I bought 20 bundles of rebar, extra thick to use as garden stakes! This factory was very impressive for its automation and efficiency. It genuinely seems as if they are trying to reduce their environmental impact where possible. I cannot imagine how much this factory costs to build lots of engineering and expertise for sure. Their workwear is not cheap and it would probably cost a lot to ship to Canada.

I can pretty safely promise that I will only ever purchase Daehan Steel rebar for my large construction projects. And next time I return to Seoul, I'll try to buy some tomatoes too :)

A few things stand out to me:
    1. The rolling mill uses a square-diamond-square shape sequence during reduction. I've heard of it but never seen it - most mills seem to use the round-oval-round sequence.
    2. The practice of roughing down a whole billet at a time and then passing two of them at once through the finishing mill. Again, more modern mills will reduce one billet in the roughing and intermediate mills, then form the bar into a peanut shape and slit the bar into two, or three or four bars.
    3. The thing shown at 15:00 is called a looper, it's for tension management in the mill. Steel being rolled tends to behave like a big rubber band and the looper allows this tension to be managed. Our loopers have position sensors mounted above them that tell the mill computers how big the loop is and the speeds of the rolling stands are then adjusted automatically to keep the loop height realtively constant.

Wow. This video is very interesting😊 Special thanks for the subtitles ㅋㅋㅋㅋ. My brother and I both like to watch this kind of educational videos and today he sent me your video (because he knows I'm interested in Korean culture and lifestyle). My brother also liked the subtitles ㅋㅋㅋㅋ. You have a good sense of humor ㅋㅋㅋㅋ. It is a very wise decision to use energy from production for reuse and growing vegetables and fruits 👍. Greetings from Ukraine. Now you have several new fans of your TH-cam channel from Ukraine ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

My first job was as maintenance worker in a factory that made silicone metal and those huge electrodes. A few years later I worked in a ship yard where we once modified a ship, using those long billets as ballast, a friend and I got the evenin shift cutting the billets into cubes, good thing the forman liked us cos he could have given us the job of stacking the cubes in the hull.

And these factories are all over Korea, big and small. One of our students just got hired by Posco in Incheon. I cannot imagine how big their factory is!

This is the most interesting production that I have ever seen. Take scrap metal and make it into something very useful. Excellent work my friends.

The work-wear reminds of something the Galactic Empire would wear in Star Wars.

You have to admire those who can devise the machine in the first place , to create a simple but important product that forms the bedrock of modern construction and at the same time making use of scrap materials. And when the time comes it can all be recycled, which is more than you can say for wind turbines or solar panels . 😊

To answer your question how the ladel survives: they are lined with fire brick and refactory which eventually has to be replaced as it will eventually wear out. There is an entire industry to support this part of steel making
