- Though a prosecutor says he'll let a grand jury decide whether the man who killed Ahmaud Arbery will face charges, many in this south Georgia community can't understand why no one's been arrested. CNN's Martin Savidge reports.

what's worse is people tryna defend the suspects saying they acted in self defense or they were able to arrest him cause of citizen arrest...all these people haven't watched the full video, nor did they watch or see the suspects statement. Some people even saying this wasn't racist. Last time I check, if a suspect is said to be "black", it's kinda racist to just arrest any black person you see. Another problem is citizen arrest only applies if you actually witness a crime happening. A black man running and stopping to look at a house under construction is not equal to, him committing a robbery. Unless these suspect saw Ahmaud stealing from someones vehicle or tryna getinto someone's house they have no buisness to chase him down with guns and try to restrain him!

It's a clean shooting in self defense. Arbery charged the man and tried to take his gun and was punching him. Clearly self defense and they had every right to make a citizen's arrest under the State law. Arbery should've waited for the cops and he'd be alive today.

SELF DEFENSE (OCGA §16-3-21) is justified to the extent that someone reasonably believes that SUCH a threat of force is necessary to defend himself from force. SELF DEFENSE must be PROPORTIONAL. Meaning: when the kid saw two men chasing him with shotguns in their car, he was justified in using his hands in pushing them away. The two ARMED men HOWEVER, could never have reasonably believed that it was necessary to SHOOT an unarmed, single person in order to avoid an imminent threat of death. Oh AND!! Actually, there would still be evidence , maybe the bullets found in his body 🤷🏽♂️ if they found the body . They could just look at the serial number on the bullets and do a background check on that specific weapon and it’ll show exactly who bought the weapon etc.

In civilized states, jumping out of the pickup with guns drawn would invalidate a self defense claim, because there is a duty to retreat if possible. The men in question had every opportunity to retreat. They could have stayed in their vehicles and followed him at a distance and nobody would've died.

When Arbery approached the son, he began to attack and tried disarm him, resulting in Arberys fatal gunshot wound. Arbery was a criminal with a lengthy record and was most likely the culprit behind the string of recent robberies in that neighborhood

The other burglary in the neighborhood was some 30 days prior from an unsecured property that was still under construction. $2,500 of fishing equipment was stolen, but the owner did not inform the police. In the four months prior to Arbery's death, there were also three calls to the Glynn County Police Department reporting a trespasser on the site of a house under construction.

"On the afternoon of Arbery's death, he entered a house under construction, triggering the owner's security system and recording video. Arbery's aunt subsequently identified him on the owner's video but claimed that he was "looking, not stealing anything"."

"Gregory McMichael stated to police that he was in his front lawn when he saw Arbery running past, "hauling ass", and that he recognized Arbery from prior incidents, including one where he had reached into his pants as for a weapon. Gregory McMichael brought a .357 Magnum revolver and his son Travis brought a shotgun as they pursued him in their pickup truck. A third man, William Bryan, followed close behind in his own vehicle while recording video."

The fight started by Ahmad trying to grab the shotgun to disarm him. This was certainly self-defense, and it looks like he was trying to avoid them.

Arbery 'jogged' right up to that stationary truck. He could have veered off at any time but he didn't, he jogged straight towards it. And then he tried to disarm the occupant and failed in the process.

The next 911 call from Satilla Shores came in at 1:14 p.m.

For my part, I have a gym at 5 minutes of my house by foot but I go to one , the same fitness gym brand so I can go inany of this brand, 15 minutes away in bike. because it's more confortable and they are less people.
2) Personnaly, I wouldn't have trusted 2 unidentified guys in a pickup with guns. We all know that's not something good, moreover in the South. They point a gun on me. I fight for my life cause I'm pretty sure they want to kill me, you know the history of this state.
They can track me along the way and give my location to the cops but not pointing a gun on me. I feel the danger. I have to fight to survive if I see an occasion.
To conclude, maybe he was a burglar or not. But the 2 guys went to far. He went by foot, they had a car and guns. Following him and calling the cops was enough. Old western times are passed. You don"t have to play the sheriff because he went to Yuma for a trial and the Marshall is 3 weeks away from Daisy Town. According to me, these guys made a mistake, wanted to act like the police but weren't careful enough and they killed a man. Were they even sure he was the guy commited a crime of even that anyone commited a crime. That reminds me of George Zimmerman.
