Especially because it marked the return of Bruce. Ghost of the Navigator is a personal favorite of mine from the album, would love to see you react to that one.

Maybe its me, but FOTD and No Prayer are great albums... Even X-Factor isn't super horrible. The 90s weren't Maiden's best decade for sure, but they need to be cut a little slack...

Angie Gatfield probably just because he didn’t come in until after their classic string of 80’s albums. With a lot of bands, when you get a member who comes in after all their peak has been more or less established, some fans look will look at the member as “the new guy” who wasn’t there when all the big shit went down. Even after they’ve put in their fair share of time with the band. I mean Robert Trujillo from Metallica is the perfect example. He joined the band in 2003, and some people still think of him as “the new bassist”, or at best “the current bassist” rather than just “the bassist”, even though he’s officially their longest running bassist. I wasn’t aware that people didn’t like Janick, but if I had to guess, that’s probably the reason. And it probably doesn’t help that Adrian and Dave are in currently in the band too. Some people probably look at Janick as an unneeded addition. Both classic lineup guitarists are in the band and he’s no longer servicing as a replacement, more like an extra third-wheel guitarist in the band. That’s just my guess as to why people don’t like him. 🤷♂️ Like I said, I personally wasn’t even aware that people don’t like him. I like him well enough.

This song was originally suppose to be with Blaze Bayley, but Bruce Dickinson returned in 1998. So everything that was already written with Blaze went to Bruce instead. Blood brothers, Dream of Mirrors, No More Lies, and few other songs.

Just a thought :) If you've seen Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and seen a Maiden show in the 21st century would get it. Nothing but love for your fellow man after this song's intro monolog is delivered by Bruce. Very powerful part of the live Maiden experience.
