    Great Video, As a current fourth year in veterinary school this is all too real. I have tried to be as frugal as possible when it comes to my student loans and I still will have ~180,000 coming out of school. I still believe that being a veterinarian is worth it. If it is something you want, you will have to adjust your lifestyle like he said in the video to handle the amount of debt you financed to pursue this career field.

    My dream career and I do not think the price of vet school is worth it. It's insane how expensive it is and how little vets usually make which is a turnoff. I guess I'll have to do something else.

      Harry Tall same ,the money is something I’d have to worry about especially since you have to be a vet tech first and vet techs make 13.50 an hour not to mention another 4 years of debt and schooling

      @@hannahrenay3057 You actually do not need to be a vet Tech first. You can have a bachelors of science and apply directly to Vet school. I really wanted to become a vet, but my vet tech teacher explained that 350k is an average amount of student debt. Look into it, but also be realistic and go for the vet tech route if you want to work with more hands on procedures with animals. 👍🏼

      I’m on the same boat as you, if I had a million dollars I’d do it in a heartbeat but on a pragmatic level being a veterinarian does not align what my future goals. Ive lived in poverty for the majority of my life and I’d like to build wealth for generations to come, I don’t think that’s possible being a veterinarian in the US.

    At least while I work at Starbucks I can get my Bachelor's degree 100% covered. Now I'm working on figuring out a way to pay for vet school. Challenge accepted 😎

    Except that if you get a degree in an even halfway useful subject (accounting, finance, economics, engineering, any science/math) then you'll make far more than $60K and probably even more than an average vet. Only become a vet if you love it and can afford to pay for a decent chunk of school without debt.

      Im going back and forth between being some type of veterinarian or a software engineer. Could you get a degree in computer science and then apply for vet school?

    • @jacobrodriguez7771
      @jacobrodriguez7771 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CosmicEquestrian You'll have to look up vet school admissions requirements. I would guess that you would at least need a decent number of undergrad bio/chem classes with good grades in those classes even if you get a computer science degree.

      Some vets do become rich. I’ve seen on crime shows wealth vets who have their practice homes etc but I don’t know if they had inheritance

      Veterinary radiologist, ophthalmologists, surgeons, and internal medicine make relatively much better money. It’s more time commitment for residencies though
