  • The new Schwinn Stingray is a bike I wanted to build just for fun with no practical purpose in mind. To my surprise this little bike is kind of sweet to ride!
In this video I put a 2 stroke motorized bike kit on this tiny bike.
We upload motorized bike videos every week (sometimes more)!

A full suspension frame build would be real cool to see! (not because i just bought a downhill bike and need to see the process of motorizing it or anything, it has nothing to do with that)

I am 67 and in Jr High we used to call these Greasemobiles as the Greasers from the poor side of town were the first to build them. Back then we would remove the seat tube and use a bumper jack to spread the upper and lower tubes to make room for a Briggs and Stratton 3.5hp engine. We would then take the same bumper jack and spread the rear triangle (side to side) to accommodate a wider rear mini-bike tire while still retaining the 20" bicycle tire. Me and a friend took and Schwinn Orange Krate with the springer front end 16" tire and front drum brake and mounted a highly modified MC101 with an expansion chamber and two carbs and reed valves. It was so powerful you could take it up to 60 and open it up and it would wheelie......a wonder we lived through those days ;-)

I made one of these too and I used a ''women'' frame because it was too tight with my old stingray but I added a tube under the seat to fix the gas tank. It wasnt all that odd looking but now that I see yours I should've give myself the headaches of using a regular frame the results looks much better

the high handlebar/stem position will make any bike a comfortable joy to ride. i bought 'touring quill stem' on my commuter bicycle 3 years ago, never looked back. this thing is two feel long and with the widest seat i could find its amazing.
I only mounted an engine on this trusty commuter two weeks ago, needless to say i am already addicted to it, going on joyrides daily after work. Its my first time having freedom to travel around, I never owned any motorized vehicle before.

First let me say I in general and all around just love the big cause of what it is and how it looks and personally I feel the chosen color you got is the epitome of what I picture in my head when I think of one of these vintage bikes so kudos for that choice. Second I have to 100% agree as much as I think the pk80 is a very well made and put together motor out of the box I feel that the seeutek is by far one of if not the most reliable motor out of all the motors I've used to date they're just simple and they just work every time. And third I think it's just a great build all in all between the look The styling just basically everything that that bicycle has to offer as a bicycle makes it an incredible looking I am assuming feeling motorized bicycle. Great looking just a real fun build all the way around. Good job brother!

Another great video. Your build looks like an old 70 's mini bike more than a bicycle. I think it's because the engine looks bigger in the frame vs. A full size adult frame. It looks like a lot of fun to ride and probably is because it weighs next to nothing.

Holy cow man, I was thinking about doing that myself but I didn't think it was possible with the crosstubes. I'll have to look again, but I think the one I was looking at has a 16" front wheel and a spring on the front forks and a 20" back "Slick". I haven't done many builds but I really want to try this one. Watching this is going to be a giant help. I wonder if I could somehow mount a disc in the front.
