As a repair technician at a phone repair store it is sadly a really common occurrence for the Pixel 4XL. Just this week we had about 5-6 4XLs come in for that same problem. Usually a battery replacement does the trick but sometimes not.
Use the og music as the outro, i love that music.

I don't have the Pixel 4 but the exact same issue happened with my Pixel 3 XL this week.
Battery Swelling caused the rear glass to start separating from the chassis. I'm out of warranty but Google accepted an RMA free of charge. So that was nice.
The best part about the rimac is not only 0-60acceleration but also 0-120 and 0-180. That thing just pulls insanely hard, in terms of straight line acceleration it rivals F1 cars and such in every speed range.
0-60: 1.85s (from website, excl. rollout)
0-120: 4.8s (estimate from known data)
0-180: 9.3s (from website, excl. rollout)
Quarter mile: 8.6s (incl rollout!)

The issue with the battery is an issue with the board inside the phone. My pixel four had to get the battery and the board replaced and it's works now
There’s already a CEPA rating for digital camera batteries. It would be cool to see a similar thing for smartphones.
as a fellow pixel 4 user, I have also had the problem where the black glass starts to come off, but I have not had any problems with the battery. Most of my problems with the phone are software not hardwear except for one time when my pixel 4 xl decided to reboot itself non stop for 8 hours

when he ask "how much faster until the human itself is the limit", this actually already happened. when Porsche with 919 Hybrid trying to break the Nurburgring record they achieved 5:19 lap time. but the driver, Neel Jani said "the car can go much faster, but i am the limitation because the g force is too extreme for my body"
on that lap they achieved 4 - 5G of lateral g force

Years ago when I had my Pixel 4XL I was out at the beach for the day and when I got home the back glass was clearly movable like the top was a diving board or something. Definitely the adhesive being cheap. Since then I have not had a similar issue on my Pixel 5 or my current Pixel 6 Pro
Tried to go to a Chick-fil-A on a road trip in Tennessee last week and I ended up in the middle of a college campus, so infuriating.

Tesla also has the benefit of near constant demand. They can be sure that they’ll sell pretty much anything they can make regardless of what model or features it has. If you’re a Ford or Porsche where there still a question of whether they sell out annually using the branding of an annualized release or model helps to drum up attention and hype for your new model that might not be all that functionally different than the old. In the same way that an XX60 graphics card can get rebranded as an XX60 *suffix*. Functionally the same but having the new launch renews sales and interest. If you just quietly make your changes and year to year what have for sale is the “same” you don’t get those bursts of hype and attention in the same way.
Pixel 4 👎: I feel the 4 line of Pixels was probably the worst Pixels Google sold. Mines overheated constantly when using it for photo sessions. I couldn't keep the camera app on for even 30 minutes. The 5 is my favorite in terms of camera, which is all I use it for. Stabilization is great.
Battery and back glass can be fixed relatively cheap at almost any reputable phone repair shop

My pixel 3 has the same battery issue. The percentage has been stuck at 72% for months now. It charges and discharges normally but I can't tell how much battery life I've got

Andrew you definitely need a new battery. I work in a phone repair store and have seen the issue with the battery question mark multiple times on the pixel 3 and 4. It's just caused through battery degradation. New battery will solve the issue for sure.
The phone won’t discharge that battery at 200w so it’s daily use won’t initially be affected. It will only discharge the battery at a power that required by the phone’s circuitry. The concern is excessive heat which can shorten the battery’s life.
It's not weird to have people rollerblading you a burger. I'm not sure about the East coast, but over here in San Diego they have Sonic restaurants, they bring your food to the car while rollerblading. Might as well put chargers there too.

You should give to your employees the phone of their choice. Like as some kind of bonus or when you hit a certain subscriber goal.
Fast = speed, Quick = acceleration. ET (elapsed time) = Acceleration (quick).

Google had to replace my Oh So Orange Pixel 4 XL 3 times because of the same issue. Before giving me the 3rd one I told them to give me a Pixel 5...they didn't of course. They sent me a Black Pixel 4 XL which o sold on Swappa for $400 and put the difference towards my Pixel 5! Had no issues with the P5 which is surprisingly very good!
I have a mi 10 Ultra and charge it at 120w all the time... Its 9 months now and battery still holds up just as new.
1. I have adjusted lumbar support
2. And everything mentioned as far as the recent Tesla updates sound like cost saving efforts.

you realize the battery swelling could have disconnected the connector in the phone and its just badly connected and its just giving you errors its really not that complicated

I really love this podcast but while I maybe wrong here, the audio version is starting to be less of a focus and shifting to video focus as there are just so many crucial details and information present in the video that you just don't get in the audio and I now feel like I should watch the video even after listening to the audio version. Anyway, keep up the great work as this is still one of the best technological-oriented podcast that is chill and opinions that are very insightful to think about in terms of the future and present of tech.
Just to prove it's still mainly audio focused, we get about 3-4x more downloads on audio than we do views on the video! I can see how if you watch both the video version might feel like you're getting a little more with some extra pictures/etc, but I haven't seen any audio only listeners say they've felt a change at all.
@@Manganellia1 I'm elated to get a reply from the co-host of the podcast and I do believe there is also a shift in perspective when I watch the video version and indeed, after much thought, the presence of more info might feed into the notion that this is video focus when it is only the diversity of medium being the focus.
