...yep its a huge discussion on which lanes and buildings can still be kept, and if in what function... but, especially in Berlin, thats the case with everything!
It was not Avus that was first but Opel's concrete test track "Opel Einfahrbahn" that was completed in 1919. Opel and Fritz von Opel also won the first race at Avus.
It‘s about the average. The hairpin and banked corner were taken at comparatively low speeds and that reduced the average. The top speeds reached 400km/h quite easily
I wouldn’t mind having Germany taking over the ministery of transport and infrastructure in my country. At least then we can have proper infrastructure.
The AVUS is part of my daily commute. This is an excellent "short and sweet" documentary!

The AVUS rennen track is now available in Assetto Corsa maybe, and other sim racing video games. Closest experience to the track today.

I think the narrator got K.M.H. mixed up with M.P.H. Those cars in the 30’s were travelling around that circuit at speeds above 220 M.P.H.

Where do you live, Mounir?
@@dweuromaxx Morocco.
Believe me, you definitely don't want Andreas Scheuer as your minister of transport.
Does anyone know anything about Otto Merz dying at this track in 1933? I would be interested in anything of his past.
@Brian Merz Try contacting the Municipal Archive of Esslingen or Schelklingen in Southern Germany.
@@dweuromaxx Thank you.
Die AVUS sollte 1908 im TAUNUS gebaut werden nach dem GBRennen 1904 und dem KPRennen 1907..🎆🎆
I thought Adolf hitler was responsible for this track
track opened in 1921 so no
You are thinking of Audi and Volkswagen
Oh Yeh mishaielle Schumacher
That's closer to the German pronunciation than the conventional English version of Michael.
