Hey There ! This was our second trip on the St. Johns with a rental houseboat. Holly Bluff Marina is a great place with nice people, but their fleet of boats is getting a bit old and shabby. I would be more critical looking over the boat before taking it. Quite often lights dont work, house batteries and inverter are non-functional, so you have to either run generator all night or shut the fridge/freezer off at night. If you plan to use the TV and/or DVD player, have them demonstrate that it actually works. Be sure to keep an eye on level of waste in holding tank. Easier and cheaper to swing back to Holly Bluff and get it pumped if necessary. Download an ap called "predict wind" and get used to it. Houseboats have massive windage issues. In open areas, you need to know what the wind is going to do, and anchor accordingly ( especially on Lake George). Have fun !

Any suggestions for our trip? We noticed the cold weather clothing and will plan on that, but other details you may address will be appreciated. Very nice family and film. Houseboats are great. It has been a few years but rented a 52' on Table Rock Lake in the Ozarks.

Houseboat was rented from Holly Bluff Marina in Deland. They also sell houseboats.
