Very refreshing to hear an entrepreneur share his story for others to learn from, without pitching or status signalling. He is sounds sincere and vulnerable and I identify with his mistakes in thinking.
He makes a brilliant statement, among others, "What are you going to do in the short to medium term to gain traction, and build something sustainable to ride the curve of growth of adoption." ⚡️
@@VanCliefMedia No it's not. In the Valley any Ivy League alumni with a network can raise a few million for their AI wrapper. Nothing wrong with that I don't knock their hustle, but it is exactly that, a hustle. If you want to impress the public then let your customers do the talking.
I have taught MBA for decades. But I still find this talk interesting. The facts are available to anyone who has a search engine. It's the personal experiences and the stories about them that make all the difference.
While Russ shares valuable insights from his journey, I respectfully disagree with discouraging direct entrepreneurship. Some of the most groundbreaking innovations came from founders who jumped in without "proper" corporate experience - think Zuckerberg, Gates, or Jobs. There's unique value in the hunger, fresh perspective, and fearlessness of someone who hasn't been conditioned by corporate thinking. Sometimes, having your back against the wall and no safe fallback creates the pressure needed for true innovation. The AI space moves incredibly fast, and while experience can be valuable, waiting too long for the "perfect moment" might mean missing crucial opportunities. Different paths work for different entrepreneurs, and telling everyone to take the safe route could stifle the next breakthrough that might come from an unconventional approach.
Short term must always be hyper focused, and medium term must be growth oriented, strategy must be purpose oriented. The most important thing is you won't be thinking strategy or tactical on a daily basis, On a daily basis you will always be hyper focused.

Thank you
It's funny to hear that the 1st thing that the founder says about the product is the amount of money that they've raised.
What's wrong
Yes because this is a useful metric to see the value people outside the company give it.

yeah that always bugs me.... it's a sign of a cheap product or lack of imagination 'to me...' financially I suppose it's smart. It just depends...
