I sure wish I knew about job ad scams several years ago. At the time I didn't know such scams existed. I actually answered a post office job ad several years back and it wasn't until a couple months went by that I realized it was a scam. They scammed almost $100 out of me and they sent me a test kit. I was told if I didn't find a job in my area they would reimburse me, I looked for openings in my state, there were none, I called the number from the ad back and it was disconnected.
Theirs so many websites online that charge money too join too have a business and others that say its a free webinar too invite you and when you get too it, Theirs always a catch later after the webinars they want you too come back a week later too learn about their business opportunity and they ask you too sign up for a three day class and pay money too learn that business you cant afford. It cost alot of money.
Fake endorsements of goods or services is also a scam or bogus claim, fraud is a crime. Targeting the aged, the young, or mentally challenged is also a crime. Using a cellular device or PC to try to scam someone is a crime. Sad that people get hurt by scammers hopefully FTC and other agencies can continue educating the public. Thank you, Vi Regan
I am a NYS permanently licensed teacher grade 7-12, and a NYS licensed and registered physician. I applied to my local school district for substitute teaching job, was told I would have to be fingerprinted and pay $100 for fingerprinting before I could be considered. The job paid less than $100 per day. Is this legal? I figure that the fingerprint ting is, but the cost of it, up front?
