I've always enjoyed the automotive reviews by Motorweek for its concise and to-the-point format and content. And more importantly, it has always viewed cars in realistic and practical point of view, unlike those Cro-Magnons at other automotive publications that seem to care way too much about how cars feel on the track, which doesn't apply to 99.9% of real driving with street cars.
BMW nice return to the classic 530 and 540I of yesteryear. These two models have always been my favorites even though very much out of my price affordability, however I have always felt these two models are worth every single penny as in this class you get exactly what you are paying for and 54,000.00 is not that bad of an asking price look at all of the items included. These are to of BMW's finest cars that rank right up there with Audi and in my opinion surpass the Mercedes E series in every way.
Correction: The new BMW 5-series still DO NOT have much of any steering feel! It's a very quiet and comfortable sedan now, even the base suspension is very comfortable.
The 530i engine is for a person who wants luxury and efficiency. Not everybody needs to do 0-60 or burnouts on the way to work. A nicely equipped one costs under $60k. 😇
0-60 in 4.7, 1/4 in 13.2 @ 109, and 26.5 MPG...AND there's a V8 model and an M model above this!! That really is just nuts. Especially when I just watched the 1996 Volvo 850R retro review, where the top-of-the-line "R" did 0-60 in 7.3, and that was laudable. The technology of today is very, very impressive, but I would rather see manufacturers have avoided a lot of this power and acceleration war and instead given us more fuel economy and lower prices. Of course it's fun in performance models, but when the 2nd model up a 4 model tier of larger luxury sedan will outrun a 911 from the early 21st century, it makes me scratch my head somewhat. Why are we doing this?
I’ve had three BMWs in my life and today I am shopping for a car and I had my eye on the 540 Xdrive but something isn’t right I watched quiet few reviews on the new 2018 Honda Accord Touring with a 2 L turbo and to be honest I think I’m going to go with the Honda this time, can anyone tell me why it shouldn’t?
@@bluestonemetallic7 Regular 540i rear wheel drive. Pretty much bone stock, it just has "premium package" and radar parking sensors. It doesn't even have blind spot warnings because that's bundled with the self-driving package. But I'm used to not having those now - I found another YT video explaining how to set side mirrors further apart to eliminate blind spot, that was a game changer. Look up "How To Adjust Your Car Mirrors To Eliminate Blind Spots SAE" if you're interested. Anyway, I'm really satisfied after 7 months ownership, I put 11k miles on it already.

To much tech BS for my liking, I see it as only to give the driver a false sense of safety, not real safety. These are things that will raise you insurance rates through the roof, and do little more for you, other than raise the MSRP so you can tell your friends how much you paid for it. O to entertain you while your car is driving you up the road. If you want the car to drive you why not just get a chauffeur. I appreciate Quality but can see no value for all the tech option and small four cylinder engine with two turbos on it to get you up a hill. All to save one mile per gallon maybe? How Pathetic. If the consumer falls for this I guess they deserve it.
I don't know about everyone else but I really don't like modern BMW interiors. They just look haptic and cheap to me. Considering it's what you spend 90% of your time looking at, nope, not for me.

The 6-spd manual isn't available anymore, even from the base 520i for us Euros! Only 5er available with it is the 520d, again not available in the US!
