+Oni Black Mage I saw that on the wikia that if you bring Gau to Zozo by himself he'll have a unique dialogue with Ramuh. I looked everywhere on TH-cam and the Internet and I couldn't find a video. All I could find was text from the SNES version. I had an Gameboy emulator so I was the first one to make it haha.

I have to hand it to Kefka, out of all the Final Fantasy villains, he's the only one to have succeeded in taking over the world.
Detective Thursday well ik this was a year ago but if you’ve played 15 then you would know but Ardyn takes over the world for a while and puts it into darkness for about 10 years
Min-Song Kim Ardyn's felt so forced though almost like they wanted too just copy ff6 for the sake of it.
Detective Thursday as much as I love kefka I have to say wrong. In final fantasy 2 Emperor ruled over the world heaven and hell. Even tho I feel kefka is the better villain, Emperor wins that one hands down.
Cloud 7k Well it was only hell in the original and he didn't necessarily destroy the world more like ravaged towns to nothingness and did an outright war alive and was planning to resurface from hell + heaven in the remake with an army even greater than his previous one though that does question how was he that successful to be ruler of the two since death?
Victor Davila well I mean to die and take over two Astral plains is impressive. Like I said I favor kefka. But you have to be fair. Kefka ravaged the world but didn't destroy it. If you want to get technical shadow made the balance between the statues even worse than kefka when he first moved them. And honestly not even kefka knew what offsetting the staues would do.
The ghost train, an opera, the Phoenix story, an actual cataclysm WoR/WoB, there are so many iconic elements in this story. Many great games have one great moment. This has so many. A perfect 10.
Absolutely, a real ten
I personally have to disagree. The story is stunning, yes, but WoR’s gameplay became unbearably tedious. If anything, you kind of need to juggle 14 or so party members, at least 4 of which have a somewhat sad reason of joining. Mog, Umaro, Gogo, Gau, and so on. My favorites were definitely Terra and Locke due to battle viability and excellent story, Edgar purely for battle viability.
Really, the gameplay truly dims the story too much, and videos like these make it sound like it actually is a masterpiece, and that’s what a game with such a story for the most part deserves to be called. 8/10 game.
I've purchased this game about 5 times on separate platforms. What a undying masterpiece.

But I think FF7 was probably the best.
I think FF6 has my favorite ending though. Really fits the tone of the game, giving everyone closure.
FF5 was also pretty epic.

He's an amazing character in a story, but if you identified with him or rooted for him... you're nuts.

Yeah... no. Although I do appreciate the amazing character that is Kefka. There's no one on earth in their right mind would side with him. I love the character because he was a perfect villain for the story. I mean he's basically Joker for the Final Fantasy story. The final battle music definitely helped me with his character. But that's it, he's a character!

I love the additional back story you covered that is missable in the game such as Shadow's dreams and the Figaro brothers scenes.

The Cid-Setzer scene is by far one of the easiest to miss out on.
The whole of Sabin's scenario has to be my favorite section of any story I've seen so far. It's so rare to see such a perfect balance of action-packed adventure, hilarious comedy and cutting drama.

Rewatching this, I can't help but notice how many elements of 6 were recycled in 7,9, 12, and 15. It's crazy how similar those elements are too.
It has been said before that FF6 was the first coagulation of everything the saga has been afterwards as we know it today, including the deranged fakeout villain with a flamboyant personality that ends up becoming a multipart boss.
I LOVED THIS game and to me it's still the best RPG of all time.
On vacation in Arizona, I lucked out with a SNES and this game in our cabin. I remember loving this game more than I did seeing the Grand Canyon. Incredible game.
I don't know what it is about Final Fantasy 6 that gets me every time....
Probably something to do with how heartbreaking the story actually is, the feels, the music - everything.

My childhood.... and I haven't revisited it in any capacity for years and now watching this I actually had a tear when Locke's and Rachel's music comes on....such a sad story....even in 16 bit...What an amazing game.

FF4 is still my favorite, as it was the first one I played on my SNES (as Final Fantasy II), but FF6 (or III) was very close, and had a much more expansive story, so it's a toss-up for me. But yeah, they're the two games I keep going back to. Might be nostalgia, but I also loved how Nobuo Uematsu made each game feel epic. Working through Final Fantasy V now... never seem to be able to find time to complete it, but hope to soon, finally.
Seems like the first FF someone plays is their favorite. VI is amazing, but just wanted to put in that 2 cents(my favorite is honestly between X and VII because those are the ones I have the most nostalgia)
Well, I believe 7,8,10,12 are all better than 6. I never have understood the total love fest for 6. I played it growing up and loved it, but it certainly isn't the best.7 was most certainly head and shoulders better than 6, in story and gameplay.
why do you think 7 is better than 6 in storyline?
Great story, diverse characters, amazing gameplay, beautiful graphic, magnificent score, plus the opera maria and draco. These are why FF VI is the greatest FF of all time and FF IX is a close second.

There are so many things they didn't have to do, but did anyway (in a good way), like a whole opera scene and even some really interesting side quests like at 45:45.

My favorite entry always alternates between VI and IX. VI was my gateway to the franchise as a kid, whereas IX is easily my most played and the one I'm most versed in.
I'm the same as you, I think there's a connection for people who came into the series really appreciating VI and then liking IX more than VII or VIII in the Playstation era of FF.
same here. VI was my gateway, and easily my favorite, but IX is so close a second as to almost be tied. Playing through the IX re-release on PS4 now, and besides the several iterations of VI i own, i always keep a rom of it on my phone
I’m the opposite but I also bounce between those two. They’re simply the best.
I think they're the two strongest titles in the series, followed closely by IV. FFIX's battles play a little slow and the final boss is terribly lame (oh hey, random character we've never heard of till now); and there are a lot of nonsensical plot elements that never get explained in VI (looking at you, Ultros and Ziegfried) -- but these games are definitely the least flawed in the series. Both masterpieces of jRPGs.

I just finished it on ios. Absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, I finished it over a period of 3 years and therefore by the time I finished it, I almost forgot the first half of the game. This video is just perfect as a reminder of all the great moments.. Well done.

You know how much of the player base in FFXIV was disappointed that suplexxing the train wasn’t an option? 😂. It was literally my 1st thought when the train was teased in an upcoming patch a while back

By FAR the BEST F.F. of all time and my favourite SNES game of all time, with all the best characters and back stories in ANY FF game. I'd buy ANY console that this game was released on if it was a full remake HD full 3D version. I nearly pee'd my pants when FF7 remake creator said that he would have preferred to remake FF6, LMAO!

A friend of mine in high school drew a picture of Ultros with that Dos Equis beer from that one commercial (most interesting man in the world)... I'm not always purple, but when I am... I'm Ultros. That 5 minute to drop the weight line was hilarious, btw.
Oh, and the ability to switch in party members and seeing them all in the main boss final fight made me think the fight would be super hard. Easiest final FF boss I've ever encountered.

elementfayt No that games quality is justified as proven by its success, that it has successful spin off games, a successful movie and people had been begging for a remake for years.
VI is just a good SNES game. It has the same cliche story involving an evil empire and an orphan main character as the previous games. It has too many characters that meant most were forgettable except for the villain. It has an incredibly repetitive combat system. Most the towns have the same generic design as the previous games. There's no mini games. The game falls apart in the last third and much more.
scabab That story arch is the basis of every single final fantasy game from 2 and on. Not just 6. Your beloved 7 is included. 6 is notorious for having the best villain, some of the greatest characters and music in the series to date, and terrific game play in an amazing world. Every final fantasy has repetitive combat. It's a staple of the genre. It has one of the best mini games (Colosseum) but that is hardly anything to even consider for why it's the best Final Fantasy. FF7 is a great game, no doubt, and my 2nd fav in the series, but it stands on the shoulders of what FF6 did for the genre. The biggest leap forward it had was simply due to technological advancements in graphics. Materia is an evolution of what Espers brought to FF6, the character design in FF7 was actually a step BACK. The secret/hidden characters were again lifted out of what FF6 brought. Cloud and Terra certainly have a lot of similarities in how their stories unfold. "Limit breaks" are an evolution of the desperation attacks also brought into the series with FF6. Much more. FF7 is a great game, no doubt, but to disregard FF6 for the turning point and ground breaking venture that it was is a disservice to the series in general.
I found an old save file of ffvi where I left of in the ruined world in the middle of collecting friends and wanted to know what the hell happened so far & what I should do next 'cuz my memory is shit. Great video :3
