With this, I have recapped a lesser known but still canon entry in the World of FF7 universe, Before Crisis. Yet again, this highlights the story work FF7 needs to go through to sort out the retcons/plot holes present in the base game, or inconsistent with its expanded universe (i.e. we now have a 3rd version of how Nibelhiem went down). This video is unique, in which I did NOT play/record this game since it does not exist anywhere outside Japan, and thus big thanks for the FFVIIExcavation channel and their fan-translated playthrough. I have been prepping a big month for October, so let's see how I do.

its what happen when you create a fully self updating game that keep racking money. FF14 and 11 ended each extension, FGO already ended 2 times also.

Holy shit Before Crisis' story is amazing! It definitely needs a proper remake at some point, especially since it doesn't seem to get any recognition within FF7R!
Well I dunno about proper but it's being remade a long with Crisis core, Dirge of Cerberus and the original FF7 in the pocket edition style
It's recognized, they added the element about avalanche being much older and Barret's avalanche being just a splinter cell of the original bigger organization, it's mentioned at the start of the game that avalanche tried to assasinate president shinra like in this game and finally we actually get to see the original avalanche in the remake
Well FF7R has its own continuity so it's hard to say what they're going to tweak or significantly alter in before crisis and crisis core.

About the only thing I like about this is that they show a female of Red XIII's race. Finally makes sense of the ending of FF7 with him and the cubs. lol
Hopefully we'll see Deneh (I'm sure that's her name) in the remake someday!

@@ltb1345 But his species might be able to live for 500+ years. I recall them mentioning in the original game that even though he is old and wise by human standards he is actually just a teenager by the standards of his species.
That was my favorite part too, but I wouldn't say it was the only thing I liked, as I really liked all of this.

It's a shame this game wasn't released this game in the US. Looks interesting to play, they should at least remade it to consoles. Also i want to know the whereabouts of Cissnei after Crisis Core, she was awesome or at least the other Turks that didn't appeared after this game
Her and others were probably seen as traitors so they went into hiding, had their own reunion at midgar during the meteor event for the sake of the city's citizens they're still loyal too, then probably many if not all turks who weren't seen in advent children retired and went their seperate ways. I can see Cis living her days over at Zack's town looking after his parents. She could also be motivated to ease her guilt in working for Shinra by helping out one of the many towns devastated by Shinra.
If they end up retconning/showing an alt reailty in FF7Remake that Zack didn't die in the cliffs near Midgar, she might make an appearance since she should be looking for Zack to tell him her real name, but that would cuck Aerith so maybe she justs dies lol.

@@ryanninjutsu Imagine if in rebirth, zack gets his own party with different characters from the regular party and some of the turks in BC are playable, cissnei is a shuriken user like yuffie, but her moves will be different since she was raised by shinra, the opposite of yuffie, or have Freyra (shotgun) join as well to be the range specialist like barret is, but she isn't as tanky as barret
This is basically square Enix putting their new OCs into ff7
I always wondered why they never bothered to re-release this title. It could be such an amazing mobile game in this day in age. Hell I'd even settle for a 13 to 15 episode animated series of it with a run time of 30 minutes each.
This deserves to be brought back so at least the fans outside of Japan can experience it.

FF7 Last order(anime) also has Sephiroth jump into the lifestream, but the actually game had Cloud throw him in. It's weird they changed up that part of the story.

Strange indeed, why would they think it was better to make Sephiroth jump by his own ? Cloud is a complete shit if not for that heroic feat of throwing Sephiroth just after being by his sword (which is inversely proporcional, the most epic thing).

Damn. When I first played FF7, I thought AVALANCHE was just a small group. Turns out they were actually a pretty big deal. XD
FF7 Remake explains this in more detail. The Avalanche in the first part of the game is actually just the Midgar cell.
Same and its also a little refreshing to see that AVALANCHE has been up Shinra's ass for a hot minute lol.

@@gozogo1233 Yea, Avalanche was just a part of a big chains against Shinra alongside other groups that were named after other natural disasters in OG, it isn't a new thing in Remake. Hell, Avalanche alone was already big, it didn't just contain people that we met in 7th heaven bar, there were other off-screen and field members in & out of Midgar

This game should have been called Retconned Crisis: Final Fantasy 7. When a game spend more than 3/4 of its time retconning games that came before, thats when you know it shouldnt exist.

Only thing I don’t like is the doubling that sephiroth jumped into the life stream rather than being thrown in by Cloud

It does kind of detract from some of the mystery with FF7 and a bit of retconning, like Red XIII being the last of his species, the other Turk characters, and Rufus' strange trust of the Turks despite what they did to him.

This was a mobile game, and I wish it get remake in a form of mobile game nowadays.

It is hard to tell if anything is cannon in ff7 as there are contradictions all over the place and the worse is before crisis.
Not rly contradictions considering the original FF7 had so many plot holes due to bad translations.
@@hobbitpsi not only that but having a precuel always brings plot holes and before after and crisis core all have the same issues. Some of the turks go from being henchmen to Gods if you go to the precuelz
@@sephirrothvt how did they become Gods? In the "PREQUELS" they still get their asses handed to them by the enemy. Also they were never "henchmen" in the original story. Even in the original story they were described as elite operatives dealing with espionage and assassination. The ones who were henchmen were the regular Shinra infantrymen. Also thats the point of "PREQUELS", to fill in plot holes.
@@hobbitpsi then the turks become shell of themselves in the original, it is way too convoluted to explain but the prequels opened yet more holes with the creation of genesis and then in dirge some characters are exclusive to that title as it is based on a rockband leader in Japan, that is the issue with those adventures but hey, I love it plot holes or not, narratives can be fluid and now with the new parallel universe thing on the remake anything can be explained

They made cloud look weak in this story. They left out the part where he stabbed Sephiroth and then threw him into the lifestream after getting stabbed by Sephiroth's sword.
Cloud was a weakling, plot armor and being the protagonist is what kept him alive.

if looking chronologically the story is somewhat like RE3 with RE 2 it both happening at the same time as crisis core and Before crisis... switching from Before crisis as first then to crisis core and going back again in Before crisis

Always wanted to know more about The Turks. I remember I was hyped to get this on mobile but never came out. The intro of this game is fantastic! Anyways I wonder if we will ever see any more of the other members of The Turks? Just find it weird how they are still alive but have no mention of them in the later storyline.

Cloud indicated in FF7 that the Turks generally look for SOLDIER candidates. I'm glad the makers remembered this piece of canon that was otherwise never explored in FF7 originally. Also, AVALANCHE used to be quite a large group, eh? I guess the tattered pieces of it were picked up by Barret, or perhaps he was inspired by their example.
Sighs. Nibelheim's story is muddy enough as it is. This third rehashing is getting old. And Kalm's destruction being 'covered up'? Shinra really is behind everything. I find it to be lazy storytelling. I love your summary, but I won't ever play this game. xD

Ok so I before today only knew about the main original game and advent children. And Today I have learned about Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, and Now This. So ya thats a lot of info. In hindsight i am a Kingdom Hearts and Fate fan so not like this is the most complicated set of stories ive seen.

My only question is: Where in the fuck were any of these people in ANY of the FF7 scenes. I like the story but the "...AND THEY SURVIVED! somehow..." just ruins it.

This game is pretty damn expansive for 2005 on mobile. Really impressive. In 05 most phones had snake, or tetris lol

Good news! A remake of this along with all the FF7 games will be released in 2022 in a game titled FF7 Ever Crisis for mobile devices!
How is it possible that everyone comes back at the end? I thought the rest had died it doesn't make sense to me...
Not sure if anyone's pointed this out, but short of moving the Mako Cannon like Shinra did towards the end of FF7, how was AVALANCHE gonna fire it at Midgar? Don't get me wrong; the cannon CAN turn to some extent, but only what appears to be 15 or so degrees in either direction. That really wouldn't be enough to get the cannon to face Midgar, since Junon faces towards the Western Continent.
I hope all these Turk members come to FF7 Remake.
ALSO there was a Before Crysis remake on rpg maker couple years ago) u can play the storyline through) which i have some days ago actually) the maker of that one said he didnt include the extras into the game which i was hoping to see here ( nope/ bad luck here too)...sooo have to keep looking i guess..
