I Built a Custom Painted Birdhouse City! 🦜 You'll Never Believe what Showed Up!

Watch me build an entire bird neighborhood - complete with custom art - in hopes that one particular bird pays me a visit!!
So, a month ago I was sitting on my patio having some coffee and doing a little bird watching when I was surprised to see a blue jay sitting in our tree. While we get our fair share of #birds like Cardinals and Mourning Doves in our yard, it was the first time a blue jay decided to swing by.
Luckily, I’m always prepared for a little bird photography and was able to snap one majestic portrait before it flew away. After that day, I waited on my patio every morning #birdwatching and waiting for the blue jay to return. After a month of no-shows, I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands and do the only thing that made sense... build a bird village!
After doing little to no research into the #art of attracting birds, I got to work. I started by stopping by my birdhouse supplier- who gave me a sweet deal. Then I went online and ordered a bunch of other things I figured a blue jay might need like bird feeders, peanuts, seeds, and a bird bath.
Before I set up my bird village, I needed to customize the birdhouses with special attention given to the birdhouse dedicated to the elusive blue jay. I decided to jazz that birdhouse up with a little art so… that meant #painting the blue jay’s portrait using the photo I snapped a month ago.
Once the painting was done, I set up the bird village and waited for the birds to arrive. But… you’ll have to watch to see which birds showed up!

That was freaking delightful! I just brought some retro birdhouses from Michael’s because they were having a sale and wondered if anyone made a cute little bird city. Beautiful bird houses. But a blue Jay would never live in those. Those tiny entry holes and small insides. They would never consider it
