I just realized what the music from MM5 sounds like. It's almost identical to the brave little toaster. Go watch the musical scenes where their trapped in the machine shop, the masters apartment and the junk yard. The overall feel and sound effects and twang is spot on.

You know, Something just dawned on me. People say MM5 and its bosses are kinda odd and don't really make a whole lot of sense. Well I think I figured out why that is. You see, if you view megaman 5 and its bosses as a stage production and the 8 masters as the crew it all makes sense! For instance we'll start with the intro. Does the intro of the game not reek of soap opera drama? "Oh no megaman's brother is actually evil and he's kidnapped his own father and now the younger brother must do battle with the older brother all in the shadow of a mysterious new warrior robot darkman!" It's the plot of a soap opera! Next the robot masters and characters, here we go:
Stoneman: Scenery and set crew
Crystal man: Camera crew
Napalmman: Pyrotechnics crew
Trainman: Runner for camera action scenes
Gyroman: Wind and weather effects crew
Waveman: Water effects crew
Starman: Lighting crew
Gravityman: Stunt crew
Darkman: The Director
Light: The damsel
Megaman: The Hero
Protoman: The Narrator
Wily: The villain
When you view this game as a theatrical production It all makes sense, The over the top and hammy feeling of the game, the laughable robot masters, the broken mechanics, the music being rather a wonky stereotypical action movie mockery of the other games sound tracks, even the stage setups and wily and protoman castle reveals are setup like their on a Broadway stage. and the final battle and ending are a made for TV action movie ending. Hell even the progression through the game is 3 act structure. Megaman 5 is effectively a stage production parody of the megaman franchise that you are playing through as the star!
