I made the long train journey from York down to Bournemouth in September 2023, and this was pretty much my first experience of solo travel as a wheelchair user. I checked into one of five accessible rooms at the hotel and loved exploring the premises and the outdoor pool, all of which had adaptations in place for disabled people. Alongside managing a tricky few chronic illness days, I also visited Bournemouth Pier and the Lower Gardens, popped into the Russell Cotes Museum, caught a show at Bournemouth Pavilion, and enjoyed a round at Smuggler's Cove Adventure Golf with friends. I acquired my chronic illness as a young adult and struggle daily with the challenges of living my best life alongside managing a debilitating health condition. Heading to Bournemouth this summer with my mum who’s uses a mobility scooter. So really happy seeing that’s there’s accessible mini golf and the theatre is too. Thanks for posting, this has made me feel more confident now
