I agree. It seems like that is pretty consequential and has everything to do with what she is doing. I wonder why it doesn't meet the bottom, and if there is a reason, how was it measured?

I think it's also because the inside of the waist dart goes below the waistline, so it's easier / creates less crossed-over lines if you place it away from the base lines? If that makes sense.

I usually scale up, and then adjust to size.
