The magic system in Two Worlds 2 has the same complexity as Outward, but the complexity comes from it is spell creation system and not sequence casting. I do have to agree that Outward has more of the spellcaster feeling than Two Worlds 2.
+1 two worlds 2 was an insane experience. When you play MP you learn even more because the community was great at abusing it for pvp. Spells that perpetually resurrected you, spells that could clear whole caves, or leveraging tornadoes and boulders to make a faux levitation. Crazy combos
Magicka 2 is my personal fav when it comes to wizardy feeling, you do need to learn to spell though... But yeah, the way elements interact and how we have to memorize / know what to use at all times is the perfect spot for me
@@pentagram4872 Dragon's Dogma has been a lot of fun. I got it during a steam sale and mained a mage. It did remind me a lot of Outward, without being Outward.
I was never a fan of rune magic. Everybody always seems to hype it up, but I've always found sigil magic more interesting, personally. Like how you can make a melee mage with the ice sigil, push kick, and mana ward, or stack sigils like fire and wind for high damage with spark. Rune magic only really has like 2 offensive spells not including the conjured sword, and fewer synergies in its abilities with other classes. I get that it brings a lot of utility to the table, but I've never felt like it was enough, personally. Maybe if there were more combinations with the runes, I'd like it more, but then it might be a bit too good.
In the end it really comes down to personal taste. I dont really like hexmage for example and yet it is a very popular skill tree. Fortunately outward has enough gameplay styles so that everyone can enjoy something ;).
The magic system is so good I've played through the game with like 5 magic builds but they all had their own play style. Too good. I have a hard time resisting the magic route. Some day gonna force myself to try a tanky melee or archer build.
My favorite is the Ritualist Shaman. Music is my Magic, and my Magic is Pain. I'm going to play your funeral song, and you will dance to it. While my instruments heal me.
To me the magic system feels like a step too far in the right direction, I like that it makes you think, but I feel it becomes slightly tedious in the long run
Well i think the only point where i would agree with you is about playing around the blood sigil. I do not think farming should really be a part of outward and to play this think you generally have to farm for stones which imo is like you describe, a bit tedious.
Well even if i have yet to play it an obvious recommendation would be dragon's dogma. Elden ring is also a pretty good way to have a "similar" experience. However outwards experience is quite hard to replicate :) modded skyrim maybe xD
btw random thought, but if you love ritual / rune magic system, you should try out the game named "Arx Fatalis" a old little gem :) Its the creators of the famous Dishonored games.@@pentagram4872
Speaking of magic guns you should have mentioned that firearms count as a Spark spell where sigils are concerned. oh and theres also Blood Bullet. Your magic can be a gun if you want
@@pentagram4872 but you mentioned magic being a gun. With that image in the viewer's mind you could have ended the video by showing this literally being a thing
I wasn't able to defeat tha boss with a rune magic focused chatacter. She just auto heals too much for the dps rune magic could output. Perhaps using manaward while hitting with the summoned swords ?
Rune magic alone is probably not enough for these late game bosses, combining it with other forms of magic is generally very usefull. Now this specific boss is a "dps check" especially once the minions are dead. Generally having good impact damage helps preventing the heals.

@@pentagram4872 The sigils are great, but a lot of them feel useless like Wind and Blood. They don't really have any good attacks. There also just aren't enough useful spells that you can cast without needing a sigil. Hex mage is great but the randomness of jinx makes no sense. I'm sorry but I'm sick of people saying rune magic is best. It sucks. Wind sigil is most op like I've never had anything not die when I casted lightning strike in the wind sigil.
