    So anybody that has a setup like this pool in the video what does it cost you in pool chemicals like on a monthly basis I know you need a floater that has the chlorine or bromine tablets in it.
    If you feel about all the way up how long does that last you.
    And then like how much for the initial pH balance and all that.
    Also what does it cost you to have it heated or do you not heat it at all?

    • @suttonkrabbenhoft7041
      @suttonkrabbenhoft7041 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I have one like this it’s small but that only effects water:chemical ratio witch is not that important,
      How much does it cost? Not much, you don’t actually need a floater, that only kills bacteria and moss so it’s a good idea to have one but not mandatory, all you you need for chemicals are one to raise the ph, soda ash or sodium bicarbonate, and one to lower it , muriatict acid, more commonly just labeled “pool acid” and they come in bulk for relatively cheep, the biggest expense was the water to fill it, you don’t want the water to be too acidic or too basic, a ph of 7 is perfect for this, an average test kit has enough test fluid to test about 10-20 times, just put the water in the vile and add 1-2 drops, heating isn’t something I did but we did buy a black cover for night which kept the first 3 inches super hot and the rest cold in the morning, heating isn’t something to worry about unless it’s a hot tub because in a pool like this one it would be bulky and two serves little purpose, you’ll get used to the temperature of the water in a few minutes anyways hopes this helps

    • @suttonkrabbenhoft7041
      @suttonkrabbenhoft7041 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh ya and don’t put it on any form of slope, I did that and a 15 degree angle took away around 5 gallons of water

    • @frankorandle
      @frankorandle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In addition to always adding regular chlorine you have to Shock the pool when it needs it which is a higher powered form of chlorine. You cannot use the pool when you shock it until the chlorine level drops to normal.
      You also need to add Clarifier that helps dirt particles coagulate into larger particles and settle to the bottom for vacuuming.
      You also always need test strips or a test kit with reagents to check the alkalinity(ph) and chlorine levels regularly.
      You also need the PH Up and PH Down chemicals to adjust the alkalinity. If you let it go too far one way it will speed up the eating of the metal of the pool, let it go too far the other way and it will eat you.
      Using a floating solar cover will help to slow the evaporation of the chlorine when the pool isn't in use.
      It is cheaper to buy the 3" chlorine tablets in a 5 gallon bucket. Do not let them sit on the bottom of the pool or they will bleach the liner. Either use a float dispenser or just throw them in the overflow strainer.
      Always use power for the pump from a GFCI(Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter) to avoid electrocution.
      If you get an expandable liner for an above ground pool you can make a normal 4 foot pool 5 feet or 6 feet deep if you want. It takes some serious digging though. I've done it twice.

      The bottom drain is connected to the pool filter. The water is pulled through the bottom drain, through the filter to get out any particles/algae, and then recirculated into the pool. The water must be kept constantly circulating to prevent sediment buildup and algae growth on the bottom.

      @@nicholasalexander5453 The pools themselves will actually last longer than that without much maintenance, so long as you buy a quality one. My grandmother only just got rid of hers after 26 years. The pool itself only needed one relining in that time, and that was us kids fault. The pump and filter both needed replacing twice in that time though, and when they died this last time after only 4 years (dont buy used pool equipment, that was a hassle and a half) she decided enough was enough and had the whole lot hauled off. That pool easily could have been there another 10 years no problem with new equipment.

      @@bigoljoe1829 the issue is the person I replied to deleted their comment. If I remember correctly, he said you’d have to buy a new lining every other year. They’re rated for 7-15 years, but my point was more to that if you want a lining that looks “like-new” then about a decade is usually the true life for it to look crisp. We have customers that have had the lining last slightly over 2 decades, though. Usually around that 10 year mark, it just doesn’t look “like-new” anymore. Usually because of improper maintenance. We actually have one customer (an older lady) that says that she’s had her’s since 1990, but I seriously don’t believe it because of how the lining is a more modern style.

      ~2700 USD for the install based on the average for the US (1700-6000, depending on size, with around 2700 as the mode), and the kits for the pool range from 700-3000, based on a quick search. so, the 6000 estimate is pretty spot on. if you got it cheap you could do it for 2400, but it really depends on size, expected lifespan and materials, and your area. Also, from experience, pool maintenance costs are from 300-1000 per year. That includes chemicals and updates, but not repairs. The ladders are also anywhere 50 to 500 and are generally not included, and you need to factor in ground levelling in most areas as an unevenness you wouldn't notice will be super noticeable with a pool. So, realistically, 6000 to 8000$ for the first year, and up to a grand ever year after. That's before the optional deck, safety gear, and inevitable repairs. Also, since these are typically drained in winter, you need a cover that's made for them, which range from 30-450 but generally for an above ground are under 200. A good safety cover is more expensive though... and you need to factor in insurance increases... so yeah, very expensive. Oh, and you may need an electrician to run out the power for the pump. Pumps are typically wired into the house for in-grounds but IDK on above-grounds.

      Because its an electric tool, and they're pool techs. Installing new pools isn't the only job they do, and if they're anything like the ones that installed mine, they aren't scared to work in the rain. The electric tools stay wrapped in plastic to protect them from water during wet jobs. It in NO WAY looks even close to remotely like factory plastic wrap so I dont know how you'd possibly be dumb enough think it came like this out the box and he never unwrapped it...? Named "dirtyworkz" and needed this explained? Thats extra special...
