The Warp exists outside of time, as well as space. The Chaos gods are entirely capable of being active before they exist.

They exist in all realities simultaneously. The Great Game is a game, with a roll d4 spaghetti noodle rule system. The Chaos gods are bound only by rules they themselves impose. This is why Warhammer Fantasy ended when they stopped playing it.

4:28 I actually like Warhammer Fantasy for that reason, the Chaos are surely powerful and at the top of the pyramid but they are not untouchable, unlike their 40k counterparts. They (the Fantasy version of the Chaos gods) have real fear of their more powerful underlings betraying them or usurping them. It's like with Chronos and Zeus, the former feared his children rebelling and overthrowing him and so tried to imprison all of them within his stomach only for the latter to escape such a fate and would grow up to free his siblings and lead the very rebellion their father feared would happen.
Also in fantasy other races have dieties to guard and protect instead of a hollow faith in a mostly powerless paraplegic big e to fight against chaos
Be'lakor is one of my favorite if not my favorite chaos character.
I'm still missing him in my Black Legion army, but that might change soon!

Plot Twist: During the Horus Herasy, Be'Lakor actually killed both Horus and the Emperor, then took the Emperor's place so he could siphon off all of that sweet belief that is directed towards Big Daddy E. He's now actually strong enough to overthrow all of the other chaos gods because of it.

Im sure in real reality(no plot armor, no story, just reality if 40k was real) , it happened many times but every soldier that has witnessed it was either executed or brainwashed or died by any means necessary.
Hence the deamons and chaos spawn must have at least SOME motivation or hope to kill an emperor otherwise they wouldnt even try to fight if it was impossible to kill big E.
tldr; Yeah i would say it happened countless times but for keeping the morale and faith in the emperor, they keep it like it never happened.
If he did he probably got super overwhelmed, then who ever saw it got kill, brainswashed or they died by mysterious means

Wouldn’t Belakor be OP in 40k because that named daemons that exist in fantasy have greater power in 40k due to the massive increase in compiled thoughts and emotions in 40k compared to fantasy. For example if the Great Horned went into the 40k warp he would likely become more powerful than one of the four gods due to him having a very big portfolio of influence and because he is arguably more evil than the others.
It would also need trillions upon trillions of rats to be transported to 40k as well in order to have real power.

Ah buts that’s the beauty of the warp we know now thanks to the end times that Skavenblight is a part of the warp so it would be possible for the Skaven to enter 40k due to them not being bound to any one universe anymore. Plus there is one area of 40k they could enter quite easily,the former
webway of mankind due it now being a part of the warp yet still tied to the webway and the 40k universe.
And of course since the webway isn’t bound by traditional physics theoretically it could be possible to quickly breed quadrillions of skaven in a quick manor in the former webway of mankind before they would then leave the webway and enter the material universe probably through making deals with the drukharri and killing a lot of Asuryani in the process.
@Deathsdayoff person Uh the Skaven could easily exist in 40k given a number of things were to happen. 1. Tzeentch for some reason or another tells the Great Horned Rat about 40k and that area of the warp. 2. The Great Horned Rat sends Skaven to the former webway of mankind seeing it as the most logical and best start point for the bringing Skaven to 40k. 3. Skaven found colony in the former webway of mankind and start breed Quaddrillions of Skaven within quick time due to the webway not being bound by tradional physics like the warp ensuring that such a large number could be breed quickly due to time being like how it is in the warp. 4. Skaven make slave deals with the Drukharri and Start Attacking the Asuryani Craftworlds to steal their tech and reengineer as well as giving any Eldar captives to clan moulder for experimentation and pet projects. 5. Start Colonising plants in Imperium Nihilus due to its connection with the warp and being hard for the Imperium to keep hold of plants there.

Honestly, I’d like to see the “I am your father” twist in age of sigmar, where Be’lakor reveals to archaon his true origins.
This was implied in The End Times.
The moment I read the title, I knew that some whack ass character is going to get bullied.
When defeating Be'lakor or Avatar of Khaine, the writers are making the same faux pas as the writers of Justice League did in season 1.
When showing Superman getting beaten, they intended to show that this treat is to be taken seriously and the fight wouldn´t be easy.
The result of that however was that Superman seemed like a weakling and a pushover, something the writers didn´t intend and fortunately fixed in the next season.
Black Library and GW seems to be stuck in JL season 1 mode, forgetting that if the treat is to seem credible and the defeat of it seem like a victory of note, you need for the villains to win at least a few times.
Have the avatar of Khaine actually feature in a few stories where he kills most of the people, before he is defeated or maybe he isn´t and the imperium is forced to retreat..
Same with Be'lakor want him to be a treat, and his defeat actually seem one of worth, have him win a few times and make those victories seem impressive.
Maybe do a story where Be'lakor manipulates a few warbands of Chaos space marines to actually lay siege to the Black Library and maybe have Be'lakor actually manage to do what Ahriman couldn´t, get in and manage to read some of the material before being banished.
And end the story with something that although he was banished back into the warp, Be'lakor got what he came after.
Thats some good common sense you have there! Unfortunate that it doesn't exist in Warhammer... Or in GW office.
I think the Archaon novels did that pretty well. Be'lakor kicked Archaon's ass every time that they fought, and Archaon only managed to kill him by stabbing him in the heart with his own severed claw. Even unleashing Uzhul wasn't enough to bring him down.

And now in Total War Warhammer 3 Be'lakor is the main antagonist of the Realms of Chaos campaign... having captured Kislev's Bear God Ursun. And every playable faction has a reason to want to go punch Be'lakor in the dick and find Ursun. The Kislevites obviously want to save him. The Cathayans want him to tell them where their long lost sister went. Skarbrand wants to claim his skull for the Skull Throne in an attempt to win his way back into Khorne's good graces. N'kari wants to savour the sorrow of a dying god. Kairos Fateweaver wants his eyes so as to be able to see into the present and become master of time itself. Ku'gath Plaguefather wants to use his carcass to concoct a new plague. The Daemon Prince formerly known as Yuri wants payback for being used by Be'lakor and to claim Ursun's power. The Ogres... well... want to eat him.
And at the heart of it all... a feeble old man who read the wrong book and got cursed by Tzeentch. Just a drop of Ursun's blood and he will be free, and he's willing to use the knowledge of the Tome of Fates to advise whoever the player sends him to and help them reach Be'lakor's lair.

Based on the most recent 40K leaks, Be'lakor isn't going to have to try anymore. He'll effortlessly tank your entire army's ranged firepower, then get up close and carve you up while vomiting daemons all over you. His rumored stats and abilities are frankly ridiculous.
Be'lakor also happens to be one of my favourite bands so he gets a pass

7:00 Huh, I didn't know daemons or really any Warp entity could sire children with mortals. Welp I learned my 'neat' but horrible fact of the day!
The best way to make him actually interesting would be the twist that every time he dies he becomes more powerful depending on what kills him so each time he rebirths as demons tend to do. Meaning that chaos or forces of "good" need to barely kill each time with or he gets too strong too fast. I.e if a chaos god killed him directly he would take a chunk of their overall power in the warp and then he'd immediately become crazy powerful and need a chaos god to kill him again. Do that a couple times and now they can't kill him at all. Would be smart war to add a ticking time bomb threat of his exsistence so even if he gets spanked you have the fall back of next time you might not beat him even with intrigue of trying to stop some factions killing him too well and accelerating his growth.

I'm sure it's contrary to popular opinion but I personally would love to see Be'lakor become more powerful, even become a 5th Chaos god/Malice. He's already slapped around Vashtor, he's been around long enough and should of stolen enough power from the other gods to step it up abit, hell even take abbadon out, and Khorne would probably support him to see him pimp slap slanesh around abit. I like the thought of Be'lakor focusing on the other chaos gods while they're focusing on mankind etc. If he did become a god with lesser deamons and such I could imagine some DE Mandrake / Forgeworld Daemon Brute aesthetics, which would be an army I would be keen for.

In TWW 3 he is actually a quiet powerful (tryhard) faction. Seems like the modeling him pretty realistic.

My theory on his fantasy origins: it is hinted at that there was a humanoid species on the world before the old ones arrived (in Drachenfells and in Witch King, the latter givings hints that this might be a protospecies upon which the old ones based men, elves and dwarves). In Witch King it is also stated that dragon ogres fell to chaos before the old ones arrived as well. So... before the old ones both a humanoid race existed and chaos had a presence. Conclusion: Be'lakors supposed reign happened during the ice age of the world, before the old ones.
Problems with the theory: dragons were said to be the dominating species i believe, so i dont know how uncontested his rule could have been during this time.
The new belakor mini is even better again. I had not realised this vid predated that.
