I found that the routing of the clutch cable so that it makes the largest of turn radii can make a *huge* difference in its smoothness of "feel".
The larger the radii, the more smooth and direct-to-the-clutch it feels. Small radii greatly increases the binding and friction felt.

Nice suggestion, thanks I’ll look out for that. 👍

Hi, nice job on the bike. Can I ask, when you put the wider bars on, did you need to extend the wiring etc? Many thanks 👍🏼

    Comment from a "old timer"........
I belive soaking the clutch plates over night dated back to when they were cork inserts (proper cork oak bark). It was necessary to stop them disintegrating at first use.
Kj, looking forwards to seeing you "chuck it about" this year, give me a bit of pressure to keep up with you !! 👍😎

Hi! How has the TRK clutch kit been holding up?

  • @neiljarvis8911

S0.... did you think that the issue was caused by the rusty spacer plates....... typically they are rthe expensive ones. Wonder if they could have cleaned up with a btass wire brush to save a few bob. How much was the clutch from wemoto?

Those are cute panniers! Are they ammo boxes? How are they mounted?

    • @DormanDiaries
      @DormanDiaries  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yep, little ammo boxes. Bolted on to some brackets that I welded to the frame. Also another rod across behind seat to help rigidity. Only small but handy for locks and tools and stuff.

@@DormanDiaries - I can imagine that ammo boxes would look good on an =RE= Himalayan, too..

@@daveinwla6360 yea deffo and they’d take the higher capacity ones nicely.

I would be interested to know how that TRK clutch is doing now it's done a few miles?

Good video. If the gasket is paper made i d rather stain it with oil as when closing the paper expands and make a good sealing.

Thanks. I can’t remember what it was now, almost like paper impregnated with metal or carbon or something.

What clutch cable have you used? I have higher an wider bars on mine, the cable I used was one I had lying around so don't know what it's from

I think we used a venhill kit from memory. We certainly used them for throttle. Was a while back we did the cables.
